Boston Bruins History
Established in 1924, the Boston Bruins were the first American team to join the NHL(Opens in new tab). They won their first of six Stanley Cup championships in just their fifth season in 1929, defeating the defending champions New York Rangers. It was the first Stanley Cup championship to feature two U.S. teams. The Bruins added championships in 1939 and 1941, and between 1943 and 1958 they reached the final five more times.
After the arrival of future Hall of Famers Bobby Orr (a three-time MVP) and Phil Esposito (one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time and the first player to score 100 points in a season), the Bruins won Stanley Cup Championships in 1970 and 1972. The image of Orr flying through the air after scoring "The Goal" in overtime to defeat the St. Louis Blues in 1970 is one of the most memorable in hockey history.
On April 9, 2023, the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3, marking their 63rd win of the season and setting a new NHL record for the most single-season wins. They made history again on April 12 when they reached 133 points scored in a single season thanks to a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals, besting the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for the NHL team with the most points scored in a single season.
Twenty-nine straight appearances in the Playoffs followed — a record among all professional sports — including Stanley Cup Final appearances in 1974, 1977–1978, 1988, and 1990.
After a two-decade absence, the Bruins returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011, defeating the Vancouver Canucks in a thrilling seven-game series behind the goaltending of Tim Thomas. To date, the Bruins have made 20 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, including most recently in 2019. Legendary players who have worn the Bruins’ jersey include Hall of Famers Cecil "Tiny" Thompson, Eddie Shore, and Aubrey "Dit" Clapper.

THE ROOKIE GAME WAS OUTSTANDING PROBABLY DUE TO THE YOUNG TALENT THAT THE BRUINS HAVE IN THEIR FARM SYSYEM. THE TICKET PRICING WAS VERY AFFORDABLE TO BRING YOUR HOLD FAMILY WHO NEVER COULD SEE THE TD BANKNORTH GARDEN DUE TO THE HIGH TICKET PRICING DURING THE REGULAR SEASON. THE CROWD WAS INTO THE GAME THE WHOLE NIGHT AND THIS CREATED A OLD TIME HOCKEY ATMOSPHERE. I THINK DURING THE PRE-SEASON MORE GAMES SHOULD BE PLAYED AT THE DUNKIN DONUT CENTER WHERE THE P-BRUINS PLAY. THEY WERE PLAYED THEIR BEFORE AND THE RINK WAS SOLD OUT, WHY AREN'T THESE GAMES PLAYED AT THE DUNKIN DONUTS CENTER ANYMORE?
Great Game. Great result for the B's...just a couple of things irked me about this event. 1 - After finding empty seats for myself and 2 guests, we were told by two separate groups that "we were sitting there". Knowing the event was general admission, and that there were no reserved seats, we did not move. One of these folks was a season ticket holder and apparently felt entitled to save seats indefinitely without leaving anyone to hold them. Too bad lady. That's why it's general admission! Save it! 2 - $9 for a Harpoon IPA. $10 with tip. Wow. So the B's and the Garden "reward" the fans by charging only $5 per ticket, and then gouge their fans with $9 drafts?! The beer isn't even that expensive at Fenway. Give me a break. I look forward to watching the B's this year. From my couch.
I would recommend going to these rookie games to anyone...fans of hockey or not. It was general admission tickets for only $5 and i ended up sitting 5 rows up from the boards. There was 14,000 people at the game and it was basically like going to a real Bruins game.
Great for my first hockey game, hopefully not the last. The only bad thing the price of food and beverage, too high
Great players and great seats! I was a little nervous finding out after I bought the tickets that it was general seating. We were able to sit in the second row!
This was one of the most entertaining hockey games I have ever been to. These guys were playing like every shift could be their last and that resulted to be true for a few of the unfortunate. If hockey was played with that kind of intesity every game the NHL would have to cut the season in half but it could rival the NFL ratings wise. Unfortunately humans weren't made to collide with each traveling 25mph on a regular basis without sustaining injury on any given collision. Unless the Bruins win win the Cup and I'm there, this may be my favorite hockey experience at the Garden ever.
took 45 minutes to get seats, were finally seated in the balcony were no food or drink was served, not fun eith 3 kids under 5, very poorly planned by the garden
Bruins Won 5 - 2 won, blood on ice - twice, hat trick.
Great experience at an outstanding price($5 per seat). Highly recommended. Bruins faithful showed support with over 25,000 seats sold in 2 games for rookie games.
Great game, Great Charity!! Havent been to a Bruins game in over 8 years. Seeing the future Bruins and Islanders for $5 was a great bargain!
Best five dollars I ever spent. Great game, great value, great cause.
I went to this game with my brother so that we could check out the rookies before the season and just to have something fun to do during the work week. The price of $5 (with no service charges!!!!) couldn't be beat to hang out in the Garden for the evening. Little did we realize the amount of entertainment to be had for that $5.00! We were amazed at the number of people who attended. The rookies had a great show of support from the loyal Bruins fans. We are really looking forward to this season. Go Bruins! :)
11,000 people the first night. 14,000 the second night. Make it an annual event. $5 per ticket. General Admission. Pick your seat! Take the kids!
The price was the best. The Bruins were incredibleWill go again and again. Could this be the year????
Great game. Able to see a glimpse of the NHL future and for only 5$ at the TD Garden. I hope that even after Tyler Seguin is not a rookie, the B's still hold this event in the Garden. Great turnout and it really showed that the young guys in the minor leagues and juniors have some great skill. Wish I could have gone to the second game too.
The Play from the rookies was better than I thought, seeing the talent to come up is very incouraging From Seguin, Colburne, Suave and Caron Looks Great
We had a blast at the Bruins Rookie game - it was so great to get my boys to the Garden for only $5 each. And the game was GREAT - lots of action and a Bruins win - what more could we hope for?!
Great time....and a good event for the whole family....plus it is was for a great cause and the right price. Thank You Jeremy for once...not about the money
for the money you can't beat it,a great way to bring the kid. also to see bruins of the future.
