About

BONOBO IN CONCERT:

Bonobo is constantly testing the boundaries of the ever-expanding landscape of electronica, pioneering new sonic territory with his downtempo, percussive style. Combining ambient sounds and lush synths, Bonobo creates a dream world for fans to escape to during his live shows, mesmerizing audiences with abstract tracks like “Kirra” and “Cirrus.” Whether he’s performing solo or with a 12-piece band, Bonobo will reward fans with his distinct sound and stunning visuals on 2014's The North Borders Tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Simon Green, a.k.a. Bonobo, got his start probing drum machines and producing music in his hometown in rural Britain. This sparked his passion to DJ full time, which included playing local gigs and releasing his 2000 debut Animal Magic under the moniker Bonobo. Since then, he’s collaborated with artists like Erykah Badu and Grey Reverend (Cinematic Orchestra), performed at the world-renowned Coachella festival, and played sold out shows worldwide. The North Borders Tour 2014 will be just as electrifying as Bonobo treats fans to old favorites alongside new tracks from his 2013 fifth studio release.

This group just has a je ne sais quoi air about them. One minute they are techno the next lounge and the next jazz all in the same show. Really nice stage presence and excellent variety made for a very entertaining set, so glad I went!

Show was amazing, bonobo got in and out one shot, short and sweet. There was no real seat, had to stand, didn't see very well.

    SOOOOOO Much Fun

by AmyGayle on 10/15/13Terminal 5 - New York

Thanks to Bonobo, all musicians present, the awesome graphics on the screen behind stage, i had the time of my life dancing my butt off with my friend and two people (new friends!) we met at the show. It was one of their 30th birthdays and they travelled from Canada just to see Bonobo. I had an awesome time, no complaints and no problems. I've seen a few shows at this venue and had similar experiences, never any issues.

    Bomobo killed it!

by lamarra on 10/15/13Terminal 5 - New York

They were lively, on point, and just plain amazing. Each song had a slight spin on it to make them all new again, and they held the audience from start to finish. With a variety of performers, great light show, and a good volume, this was more than I could have hoped for!

    Bonobo was a bust!

by DUKEOSCAR on 10/15/13Terminal 5 - New York

I was looking forward to seeing Bonobo all week. I bought two extra tickets for friends visiting from out of town. It was a Saturday night in NYC and the show was over by 11:00pm!! On the way to the show I texted friends who were already there asking if Bonobo had gone on yet. They said don't bother coming, it's already his encore and everyone is about to leave. Apparently he had another set somewhere else in the city that night. If a show starts around 8pm on a Saturday night, I believe we should be told if it is going to wind down at 11pm when there are only two acts! Very disappointing Bonobo and Terminal 5...

    Everything I wanted and more

by TerraFirma on 10/15/13Terminal 5 - New York

Checked off the bucket list. Big time fan of Bonobo and this being my first non-metal/rock show it will be one to remember. The performance by the band was flawless. Extremely talented musicians all around as well as a great opening act by Paul Basic. Absolutely incredible.

    The man is an artist

by Twoaday on 10/15/13Terminal 5 - New York

Quite a bit better than we expected. A real artist and showman. Rips on bass as well. Overall: intelligent, sophisticated, sexy, alluring, surprisingly all ages. Treat yourself by seeing Bonobo live.

I walked in thinking it was gonna be a letdown after watching a couple of his live performances online, it was anything but. Incredible show, saw the live band and the musicians were all so talented. I thought it was going to be kind of a slow show, I was wonderfully mistaken.

One of the great innovators out now!

by Kristoffenorton on 10/14/13House of Blues Boston - Boston

I gotta say outstanding show!!! I don't like the idea of seeing a DJ-esk live show, it's kind of like: what's the point, people playing things is impressive to watch and hear. Bonobo brings live music with his production mastery and I have to say I was most entrapped when it was just him mixing/spinning solo. He's got an incredible musical imagination that weave layers viscerally vs. what you expect from a DJ which is loops that change but are very predicable. Bonobos music for the sake of music- mean the stuff that's going in your ears without analyzing its style/origin is simply phenomenal and so easy to love. Live he was even better I would definitely see him many more times. I truly think he's one of the best contributors to music today

    Outstanding!

by Locro on 10/13/13Terminal 5 - New York

We loved the horns, the violins, live vocals and drums. Bonobo knows how to put a live show together.. this could have been just one guy with some recorded tracks that he mixes... but instead we got a totally live music experience! Thanks for takin the high road!

    PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE!

by Desibel on 6/14/13El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

This was one of the best shows I have ever been to in Los Angeles. El Ten Eleven's show before Bonobo's was incredible. The two groups are so different, yet compliment each other very well. The crowd was clearly ecstatic throughout the entire performance. 5 Stars, Bonobo, and until next time!

Amazing Performance by Bonobo and Guests

by Dukeofny on 6/4/13Paradise Rock Club - Boston

I am a longtime fan of bonobo, but I was genuinely surprised by the strength of his live performance, and his guests performing live instrumentation put it over the top. Those guests really stood out and made the live performance perfect, ESPECIALLY the vocalist (who was wonderful and tied it all together) and, saxophone player (who was the best I have yet seen live). Not to disparage the other great musicians he had with him. Highly recommended and the venue was great, as others have said, possibly the only thing I really could've asked for was a longer set.
