About

About Bodies: The Exhibition

The human body is the most complex, mystifying machine in existence, and probably the most difficult to comprehend. But the more closely we examine its mysteries, the more we can come to understand ourselves. Gaining this detailed understanding of the working parts that we all share is one of the main goals of Bodies: The Exhibition, but the compelling display is also a fascinating experience in and of itself. True to its title, the long-running, award-winning exhibit presents real human bodies in various forms, allowing us a peek inside to see what makes us all tick.

Entering into Bodies: The Exhibition, you'll find artfully arrayed sections of human forms that have been preserved by a special method and arranged to give visitors a guided tour of the human anatomical world. You'll come across skeletons that offer an opportunity to investigate bone structure, and then you'll get an up-close look at all the other systems that keep people together (literally), from the muscles to the nerves and beyond. You can see blood vessels throughout the body and learn about circulation, and see internal organs normally hidden from view. As intriguing as the entire prospect is all by itself, there are further educational elements at work. For instance, the lungs of smokers and nonsmokers are displayed side by side to drive home the point of cigarettes' effect on the lungs in no uncertain terms. There are even programs set up with schools for bringing students here to learn about the body — more than they ever could by sitting in a classroom. But of course you don't have to be out for an education to enjoy Bodies. You just have to be a human being with a natural curiosity about the way people work — a curiosity that the exhibit will satisfy like nothing else can.

So interesting beeing able to see and learn about parts of the body by actually seeing a real specimen and not just a book. Being a nurse i found it very interesting.

  • Poor Admission Notes

by Phlip on 12/27/22Bodies: The Exhibition at Luxor Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

We booked reservations for this exhibit at 3pm. We showed up to the exhibit at 302pm and were told “Admissions is closed”, when we showed them our tickets they explained that admission is from 11a through 3pm when you buy tix. The manager was kind enough to let us in and told us we had until 4pm when the exhibit closed. Overall it was fine, we were able to see everything in 45 minutes but the person at the front of the line was a real jerk about it. Do better and make it very clear that ticket times are a *window* and not a start time.

  • Bodies Exhibition

by Steve on 9/14/22Bodies: The Exhibition at Luxor Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

We failed to get in on our set day as the ticket purchased was for a set time, 17:00 , yet when we turned up at a couple of minutes past this time was told we had missed the last entry and would have to come back! We did return the next day. The exhibition is amazing. I have a fascination for Gunter’s work and would recommend the experience. That said I have been to a number of different venues for this exhibition and this was by far the smallest one with limited items. It certainly lacked the larger items like the horses he has prepared and shown else where. A good intro to this amazing work but it’s a mere sample of his body of work.

  • Very Impressive

Bodies, the Exhibition was recommended to me by my yoga instructor. Las Vegas was the first time the exhibit has been near where I was. My trauma surgeon husband helped answer my questions. The detail and technology used in the exhibit was truly impressive.

  • Awesome

I am a registered nurse and thought this was absolutely fascinating! My husband really enjoyed it as well- he kept wanting to touch things...sigh. Neatest thing is that I was 3 months pregnant with my first child at the time and was able to look at the fetuses with my husband and finally get across to him why I was so tired and nauseated! He was amazed to see the development and has given me some extra slack since.

  • THE MOST AMAZING THING I'VE EVER SEEN!!!

by Jennbug4 on 5/11/12South Street Seaport - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I saw the exhibit in NYC and I was just amazed! It was so educational. I learned so much just by viewing the human body and the different parts. I would recommend this to anyone!

  • I wish I'd seen this when I was young....

by StillLearning on 8/7/11Premier Exhibiton Center at Atlantic Station - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

My son, who is 20, and I spent hours in the exhibits learning about the human body, it's systems, bones, muscles, organs, etc. I spent hours in college in biology but text books and pictures just can't teach you like one afternoon in the exhibit can!

  • Educational

  • Not worth what they charge

by HitesMites on 1/8/11Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 3 out of 5

Okay exhibit to see one time, but in my opinion not worth what they charge to get in. I won't be donating my body any time soon.
