  • The Bodeans New Years Eve

    by tmonahan77 on 1/2/13Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Spectacular show. Very tight band with a straight forward approach to pleasing the audience. Kurt Neuman is probably the most under rated front man in music today. His mid-western laid back roots rock was genuine and soulful. The concert felt good.

The concert was awesome because it was the BoDeans. And I will definitely see them again. However, I will never go to this location again. The smell of cigarette smoke was nauseating and there was no escape from it.

They were great!!!!....when they finally started. Feel a bit cheated, they were set to start at 10:00, however, it was well past 10:30 before they started. Fantastic sound and songs.

It was a great show! They rocked the house. It was great even without Sam.

  • Unbelievable Bodeans

    by chitown2 on 12/31/12Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best venues to see a concert. We were 30 feet from the stage and everything was so intimate!

  • OMG

by JIBLit on 12/31/12Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! Since we had never seen the BoDeans before, we thought the front band was them. They were that good. Then the BoDeans took the stage. Amazingly clear, strong voice in Kurt Neumann. They were jammin' and we loved every minute of the entire concert. He is a humble stage presence (like a Willie Nelson ramped up) and he invited the audience to jump in, right from the beginning, introduced other band members across several songs. Really cool. So much energy and beautiful music in all of the band - great to have the fiddle player.

  • BoDeans aren't the BoDeans anymore without Sammy

    by LWhitt58 on 10/7/12Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 2 out of 5

I hadn't heard that Sam Llanas had left the group (or that he and Kurt had been unhappy playing together). Nor had my sister. If we had, I wouldn't have bought tickets. We didn't know until the band came out on stage....and there was no Sammy. Sadz. :-( The energy of the band isn't the same without Sammy there. Having the songs all sung by Kurt just doesn't cut it. Sorry, Kurt. In addition, the long-time band members seemed to have changed. The fiddle player from Texas was the best addition. But Sammy's distinctive voice is sorely missed, and this will be the *last* BoDeans show I see unless they reunite.

  • BoDeans minus Sammy is still a good show

    by Monica99 on 9/30/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 3 out of 5

With the departure of Sammy Llamas, the moody but talented co-lead singer for 30ish years, I wasn't sure how I would enjoy the show. I was glad that there wasn't a substitute for Sammy's parts (Kurt did basically all the singing with some back up on a few tunes). It seemed like the oldies focused on songs Kurt had always led on and they were great. The overall length of the show was short (1.25 hours?) But it was fun nonetheless. Only a few songs off the new album and they were fun.

  • Great bad & show and fun venue!

by DCchicky on 9/30/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Long time DC resident, first time to the Birchmere. Not a bad seat in the house and great place to see a band and have some drinks/snacks. Food is a little pricey (for what you get & venue), but you'll live. The BoDeans still put on a great show. Go!!!

The show was good. Wish that they would have played more of their older material.

  • Like being on the Terrace...

by WestbyDC on 9/30/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Kurt and the boys mixed in some excellent new stuff along with all the favorites. By the time the women were dancing on their chairs to "Good Things," I felt like I was back at Memorial Union on a summer night...

  • Small crowd...good show

    by bomber187 on 8/20/12Vetter Stone Amphitheater - MankatoRating: 4 out of 5

The crowd was very small. The amphitheater was only about half full. It took a while for the crowd to get in to the music but about half way through the area in front of the stage was full of dancers. The BoDeans did a good job of mixing in their new music with their old classics. The new C.D. is the best of their recent releases and I would have actually liked to hear more of it live. Kurt and the band always provide a lot of fun energetic music so I was not disappointed.

  • Bodeans are not the same!

by Luvsmusic16 on 8/11/12Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 2 out of 5

I was so disappointed in this concert! The break up of the Bodeans has basically changed the entire sound of their music - it's just not the same. Save your money and listen to the old cds.

  • The Bodeans were fantastic!!!!

by luckylindy25 on 8/2/12Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple ValleyRating: 5 out of 5

My fiance and I don"t usually go to concerts, but I"ve always wanted to see them. It was the best time we"ve had. The Amphitheater experience was so up close and personal.
