It was a very pleasant atmosphere and was my third time at the Punch line. Bobcat is a comedy Rockstar🤘😎 he was awesome, he was intimate and open with the crowd and very funny. I felt very honored to see him, he's one of my comedy idols.

    Needs his Netflix special 🙌🏻

by Jamie on 4/30/23Punch Line Comedy Club - Sacramento - Sacramento

What an incredible night. Bobcat wowed us with unexpected, large laughs, and a bunch of them. He was so fun and the venue was so wonderfully intimate for it but in a big way, if that makes sense. Bobcat delivered plus some and it was very real fun and not fabricated jokey kind of comedy which is my favorite he is pretty dialed as a storyteller and hope to see him jump into more and get more opportunities like Netflix etc.

Pretty good show, but Bobcat was having a bad night

    by J. S. on 5/19/19Somerville Theatre - Somerville

Generally speaking, the show was really good. It was a nice surprise that they included some local comedians in the show, both individually and interacting with Bobcat and Dana. But Bobcat just seemed very unfocused. He was better when he was interacting with the other comedians but his individual set was kind of weak. I hope that he was just having a rough night and that there isn't something bigger going on with him.

The Show with Two Heads gets Two Thumbs Up

    by B. B. on 5/18/19Somerville Theatre - Somerville

It was a great time. The two comics riffed with one another throughout the show before going into their individual sets. There were also surprise sets from Ken Reid, Tony V and Eugene Mirman. In all the show was almost 3 hours of laughs. I got the pleasure of meeting Bobcat and Mr. Gould after the show and they couldn’t have been nicer. Totally worth the two drive.

    TOO LOOOONG

by JK on 5/18/19Somerville Theatre - Somerville

While certain parts of the show were truly funny, this needs to be tightened up and condensed. Too long and drawn out.

    Disappointed No New Material

by sickgypsy on 11/23/15Punch Line Comedy Club - Sacramento - Sacramento

In comparison to his Showtime LOL comedy festival routine which I believe was recorded in 2012, this performance fell flat. He was doing the same routine minus the hilarious bits and some of his stories lacked his well rehearsed setup which lessened the impact of the punchlines. He did interact with the audience wholeheartedly which is where his improvisational skills created some new material based on old personal stories. I was taken aback and admittedly brought to tears when he spoke candidly about the late Robin Williams. I thanked him outloud for doing so and listened intently to his quips on the subject. All in all the show was good. I liked the female opener.

    Bobcat Killed!

    by Jason27 on 5/6/14Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant & Music Club - Somerville

I've been a Bobcat fan for a long time but had never had the opportunity to see him live so this was my 1st ime. He was awesome! Absolutely hysterical! After all these years, he still has it. He did a few old bits (mostly by audience request) but also a lot of new stuff; and I got to meet him after- such a nice guy!!!! Great night!!

Still hilarous. Amazing show, intimate setting.

by Geezerbill on 5/4/14Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant & Music Club - Somerville

After his show at the Wilbur was cancelled, and this show itself was postponed, I'm glad I finally got to see Bobcat in Boston. Johnny D's is a small club/restaurant in Somerville, and those of us in attendance that night got to see one hell of a show. Bobcat did a hilarious mix of material from his most recent special, "You Don't Look The Same Either", and some brand new material I hadn't heard before. A lot of it was personally anecdotal. He knows that there are always people who only seem to remember him from the Police Academy movies and other work before the 1990s, despite the fact that he's done a lore more than that (at least 3 stand-up albums, "Shakes the Clown", the brilliant "God Bless America", directing Jimmy Kimmel Live, etc.), but makes fun of that fact in his act. At some point during the show, he spots a woman trying to video record him on her smart phone. He asks, "You're filming me? Why don't you just remember the show with your BRAIN camera? That stuff [that you just filmed] is readily available on many formats. You can *rip* that joke. Just enjoy the show ... It's just annoying, it's just really weird. When I see this I don't think 'Wow, there's somebody who's really into my shit!' I think 'There's someone that hopes that I fucking pull a Michael Richards'. Because that's the whole goal, isn't it? To get more hits and more likes than anyone else. What is a 'like'?" The opener, local comedian Alingon Mitra, was a little mainstream for my tastes but still had a great 20 minute opening set that the audience enjoyed.

    Great show!

    by Kainon079 on 5/4/14Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant & Music Club - Somerville

Bobcat put on a great show, and interacted with the audience masterfully. It was an intimate venue, with not a bad seat in the house. The audience kept requesting he do old bits/acts, so he obliged, but kept saying he had newer material if people wanted; so while there was a mix, it was definitely at the behest of the crowd that older stuff took center stage as much as it did. I will definitely catch his act again next time he's in town!

    Aviod at all costs

by gigler on 8/6/13Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

Larson was great. Goldthwait was TERRIBLE. He had nothing. He wasted time babbling about nothing at all. His jokes ( the few) were not funny . I did not laugh. My date did not laugh. He needs to retire.

Sad to say that it was not a very good show. The bacherlorette made it even less than that.Understood that something like that can ruin a show but, Bobcat seemed to be struggling-didn't really have any bits. Love Bobcat but disappointed in show.

Wits was great fun, Bobcat was hilarious and the musical stand-ins for St. Vincents absence saved the show. Wish I had gone to more Wits while it was playing!

    Bobcat Goldthwait mark II.....

by DavidDoyleImaginaryBand on 7/17/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

It was a genuine pleasure to see Bobcat in this phase of his career. And by phase, I don't mean "the washed up 80's comedian does a great job considering...". This show was not Bobcat as a nostalgia act, although he did do a few trademark screams to placate the people who were expecting just that. What made this performance truly great is that this was Bobcat as a humble, introspective human being, without sacrificing any of the dark, outsider wit. When he noted that current media darling Betty White is an awful person, or that people who vote for American Idol have nothing to truly to share with him, or even dared to tell a joke that involved the Special Olympics, he actually took the time to explain himself. Not to coddle the people who might be easily offended, but to tune the audience in on his perspective, while still managing to make it funny. This is the first time I've seen Bobcat's stand-up live since the early 90's, and after seeing this performance, I truly understand why his newer films like "World's Greatest Dad" are amongst some of my all-time favorites. The Bobcat that we have now is an evolution of the zanyness of his earlier work, only slightly tempered by an obvious need for growth and reflection. Maybe I'm overstating this a bit, but to compare the Bobcat that I experienced as a kid in the 80's, to what he is now, is bordering on re-invention. So, please welcome: Bobcat Goldthwait mark II.....

    Laughed through the whole thing!!!

by StashAndStella on 7/17/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

The show was a little under sold, but that did not deter Bobcat, it became part of his show! A bit of the old material, some new, and a typical hap-hazard string of whatever goes!!! Since he was from Syracuse (Go Orange!) there were some local bits, and he even delved into audience participation which made it feel very personable. It was a pleasure to see as he is more known for his directing now. Look forward to the musical! Thanks Bob!
