    Ratdog

by tlex on 3/7/14Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Wow! Bob is in great form and he has assembled a fantastic group that compliments his style and knows the repertoire. The song selection could not have been better. Four Dylan covers in one show is unheard of by me. Iko was rearranged into a more rockin number and it did rock. So did the balcony in this old beautiful theatre, but it stood up to the dancing of a sold out house! Loved the show.

Bob Weir & RatDog was a Freak Fest!

by IKOdog on 3/7/14Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Great performance! Was also entertained by the many fair haired dreds in the crowd. Thought it was strange that they took a 45 minute intermission, then in the middle of a performance, got the crowd singing and Bob Weir walked off stage. Good show but was disappointed that he didn't interact with the crowd. Never said hello, we're glad to be in Buffalo or anything like that. Just came on the stage and started playing. Maybe they were not happy they had to be in Buffalo when it was so cold.

    Bobby sounded great!!!!

by jerrydog on 3/7/14Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

The Concert was very good. Bobby sounded great. I would change 1 thing though, I want Mark Karan playing guitar again instead of Steve Kimock!!!! Mark is the man and he was greatly missed.

    The Dog Has New Bite!

by GrampsSF on 3/7/14Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Bob Weir and RatDog were hotter than Buffalo chicken wings on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 when they played Shea's Performing Arts Center just a few blocks away from the famed Anchor Bar where chicken wings were born in 1964 in downtown Buffalo, NY. An opening jam took the sold-out crowd into a Grateful Dead favorite "Jack Straw", then into the first four Bob Dylan tunes "All Along the Watchtower" which melted into a Bob Weir-John Barlow penned "Wrong Way Feeling." Dylan's "Maggie's Farm" was next. Bob Weir's voice sounded stronger than ever. The new line up with Rob Wasserman on stand-up bass and Steve Kimock on lead guitar really pushes the band into straight ahead rock and roll with all the power of northbound train. Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried" and "Loser" brought me to my favorite moment of the night. The first set kicking and screaming closer of the RatDog song "Two Dijiin!" From the second Jeff Chimenti starting pounding the keyboard introducing the song I was fist- pumping in the air. After the break the second set opened with an old traditional (not the Willie Nelson song) "On the Road Again" Ratdog.org says it was the first time in 148 shows that the song was played. I took the opportunity to leave my 18th row seat and dance the second set away in the back of theater. Another Dylan "Desolation Row", "Birdsong" into "Trucking" back into "Birdsong" and because it was Fat Tuesday- "Iko Iko" had the dancers spinning! Another Dylan to slow it down with "Knocking on Heaven's Door" and then we're "Going Down the Road Feeling Bad." The encore- the Grateful Dead song charted the highest on Billboard topping at number 9 in the 1980's- "Touch of Grey." The Shea's staff and volunteers we're very helpful. Thanks for a real good time!

The spirit of the Dead lives

by volt69 on 3/7/14Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Outstanding blend of blues and ballad, with an eerie tone that scratched the soul--upright bass. Shea's was perfect!

Bobby still has it. I brought someone that had never seen a Dead or a jam show before and she was amazed. She loved how the music never stopped. We all were shaking as he played Sugaree.

    Ratdog totally killed it!!

by dancinbear97 on 2/27/14NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Bob Weir was totally on top of his game. He made dead heads very happy by performing songs that we hadn't heard in 10-15 years. He was amazing and so was Ratdog. It was non stop dancing, singing, and smiling!! Went to both nights and can't wait for them to come around again.

    Exceeded my expectations.

by Tthehead on 2/25/14NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Whatever bobby is lacking in vocals(and what would you expect, he's about 70yrs and perfos almost every night )is more than made up with the group of seasoned professional musicians he has put together, especially Steve kimock and rob wasserman.

    Giving the Dog a Bone!!!

by Dancinbare on 2/25/14NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Ratdog is back & their sound is better than ever! As usual, the King did mess up a few lyrics but that's kinda expected from Bobby...falling down is not!!! I was so happy to see the band back at Westbury, a quaint lil venue where Ratdog used to play annually every Halloween. Bob's right-hand man hooked us up with couple of Weir's red guitar pics & setlist as well...thx A.J.!!! This band is definitely Testament as to why my newest tattoo is RATDOG Logo...Bobby, Kimock, Chimenti, Jay Lane, Wassermann & Sylvester - THESE GUYS ROCKED!!! Can barely wait for their next show!!!! Too much of everything is just enough...

    RatDog at Hampton Beach

by LastDeadMouse on 9/9/09Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

This was likely a warm-up show for Bob Weir & the boys as they were heading to the Gathering Of The Vibes in Bridgeport, CT later in the weekend, but either way, it was a dandy show. Since the passing of Jerry Garcia, Bob has kept the free-wheeling spirit of the Dead alive with an organic approach to jamming as oppsed to Phil Lesh's more clinical approach. Anyway this was a fine show with more Weir and Ratdog tunes than in the past (unlike some recent Ratdog shows which have contained an equal number of Garcia tunes!). Weir was in good voice and focused (again unlike some recent tours). In addition it was a generous show with almost 3 hours of music. Good fun!

    Ratdog

by Spiderpants on 7/29/09Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

This was my first show of this type, and though I like what I've heard of the dead, I didn't know what to expect from a "Jam Band" kind of show. Wished they would have done more songs instead of stretching every song extra 5-10 minutes.

    Ratdog never fails to deliver!!!!

by Sugaree on 7/28/09Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

What a great show at a great venue! We've seen 17 Ratdog shows and everytime we go they just keep getting tighter. This band is extremely comfortable with each other and it shows. There are no bad seats at the Casino Ballroom. One large room with a few tables and chairs back near the bars. Although I don't know how you could sit down!
