BOB MOULD IN CONCERT:
Legendary former Hüsker Dü and Sugar frontman Bob Mould continues to bring inimitable energy to every stage he plays on tour. Whether he’s performing his solo material or favorites from his classic bands, Mould combines catchy power-pop hooks with the intensity of hardcore punk to deliver punchy fun. On standouts like “Celebrated Summer”, “In a Free Land”, and “It’s Too Late”, his plaintive vocals and heartfelt lyrics connect directly with audiences. But he’s also not afraid to kick out a wall of guitar distortion, running around the stage with abandon during his ferocious and freewheeling solos. With a tight rhythm section backing him up, Bob Mould still packs the same powerful punch that has made him a favorite among hard rocking ticket buyers for decades.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Bob Mould rose to prominence in the Twin Cities hardcore scene when he founded Hüsker Dü in 1979. Together with drummer/vocalist Grant Hart and bassist Greg Norton, Mould and the group would go on to transcend punk and play a crucial role in the development of alternative rock. After releasing several albums on independent label SST (including 1985’s New Day Rising, which was ranked as one of the best albums of all time by Rolling Stone) the group broke new ground for punk bands by signing with major label Warner Bros. Records. After the band split in 1988 Mould decided to make a drastic change for his 1989 solo debut album Workbook, which featured cleaner guitars and unique touches like cello. The singer-songwriter then formed Sugar in 1992 and released Copper Blue, which venerable British music magazine NME named Album of the Year. Despite the band's success Mould decided to go solo again in 1995, returning with a critically acclaimed self-titled album the following year. Over the course of more than 35 years of both underground toil and mainstream success, Bob Mould has never lost his zest for live performance or knack for endearing songwriting, which he proved on 2016’s Patch the Sky.

I missed Hüsker Dü as a kid, but to hear Bob Mould three times as an adult is inspiring both in a nostalgic way and a strictly Punk Rock kind of way. HD was the pop punk band - GREAT compositions, energetic/raw playing and plain old conviction. "Hate Paper Doll"and "Celebrated Summer"bring chills. Let's see Mould carry on for more decades please.
I got to see Bob Mould last night at the Black Cat. It was a perfect venue for his show. He is an amazing singer and guitarist. If you like Bob and haven't seen him live I would really recommend that you do. It was just incredible to watch him play the guitar while hearing him sing. Such a different vibe than hearing the song with no visual. Cant wait to see him again.
I saw Bob Mould at the Marquis theater in Denver last Friday night April 11th and then at Washington’s in Fort Collins Saturday April 12th both shows were absolutely phenomenal. Sound quality was outstanding at both venues. The highlight of the shows was watching a 50+ year old fan rush the stage Saturday night in a failed attempt to do a stage dive during the song celebrated summer. Hope he’s gonna be alright.
Bob Mould, Jason Narducy, Jon Wurster and the opening act were all excellent. They brought their A games. The venue is REALLY overpacked and uncomfortable. The stage is only three feet high, so it makes it very hard to see if you are in the middle of the crowd. This was my second show at the Marquis. I think I will avoid it in the future.
Mr Mould was fabulous And the venue is perfect. 😍
Bob Mould, is one of the great singer songwriters in the history of punk, and rock ‘n’ roll. This was a fantastic show. As always, the staff at the Neptune were and are, fantastic ambassadors of the venue. Bob was loud, melodic, and beautiful. Absolutely fantastic show!
Mould, Narducy and Wurster are the tightest 3-piece currently touring. They delivered a blistering set of high energy rock. To watch them all smiling while performing warms the heart. The Fillmore is perfect venue to see any show but especially this one.
Great set by the Bob Mould band, first band tour in 3 years. He left nothing on stage - going at it full bore for 90 minutes. Good selection from the new album, recent albums and Husker Du classics.
1st time at this new venue — loved it!! Great intimate space. Bob was amazing as usual (5th time seeing him) & I really enjoyed Jason too!
