The ticketing for the event and the parking was easy to accomplish. The parking ticket would not transfer to my phone’s Apple Wallet for almost 24 hours but finally moved to my wallet as we got to the event. Check in was then easy.
The program was very small and it was printed for two days instead of one. Made finding tee times the second day a bit difficult. Signs were not numerous enough. Had to get almost out of the grounds before you saw an exit sign. Directions to different holes again was hard to find except at or near the start of the golf course.
The atmosphere, ambiance and sheer talent of the players was breathtaking!
It was a great experience and the ticketing process was smooth and easy.
We paid over $170 for Trophy Club passes, months ago, because it said on the web site that there was a view of the "17th tee and 18th green."Nope. It was positioned on the 18th fairway...unable to see the tee box, and about 100 yds from where the players' tee shots were landing. And you could not see where their approach shots to the green were landing, because it was so far away. We could have gotten a much better value with a General Admission ticket for $65. BTW, today the web site does NOT say the same thing about the location and view...it has been changed. Very disappointed.
Wonderful day! Great pictures of all the top PGA players. We took the train to the event.It was a 3 minute train ride. Perfect day! Memories of a lifetime…..
The Trophy Club was promoted as having a sports bar atmosphere. It was hardly that at all. Just an air-conditioned tent with one TV that you could get concessions at. And they were the same food and beverage offerings sold at any of the concession stands anywhere on the course. Not worth the extra 20 bucks at all. Plus you had to walk up and down a flight of stairs to use the washroom. Very odd.
The practice rounds are where it’s at. You actually can meet the players and get pictures and autographs. I highly recommend
The country club was in great shape. Food lines weren't too long unless you wanted the food truck sandwiches. More food trucks would be great since the food is much better. Transportation to and from the course is problematic. Too long of a commute and not enough buses were available when play ended on Saturday. The lines to board a bus were backed up to the security entrance.
Had tickets for a practice day and for the Sunday. Organization spot on! I parked and used Uber which was very efficient. Site signage was good, plenty of concession stands, not cheap but not too expensive. Overall, proud to live in the area that put on such a great show!
If you want to pay a lot of money to sit in a stand all day and give players abuse - then it’s not for me - grounds pass has very little viewing areas compared to club members
Well run event, beautiful golf course, very limited parking not very near golf course, lots of concession stands and bathroom facilities. Lot of great help on the golf course by tremendous volunteers. Great job of organizing. Congratulations
We had a pretty good day at the BMW Championship on Sunday, August 21st, 2022. We had tickets in the 9Green section right on the 9th hole. The set up with the drinks and food were thought out really well. Only problem we had there were about dozen or so guys who could not hold their drinks and were not cut off. They were extremely rude and load yelling when the "quiet" signs were placed in the air. These guys just ignored the handlers and did what they wanted in disrupting the players on the 9th hole and players teeing off on the 10th hole. Very disappointing that security was not called into remove these individuals. Even the caddies were yelling into our section to be quiet.
I attended the 8/16 practice round and 8/20 3 rd round. The tickets on my phone got me in on 8/16 but the venue had issues reading tickets on 8/20. I had to go to the ticket office and get new tickets texted to my phone.
It was a great day with my two sons. The players were spectacular with their play. Beautiful course easy to walk and set up very well for the spectators. Glad we shared the day together.
There is nothing like the final round of a golf tournament, and Wilmington Country Club did a great job making the experience this year one for the books! The whole event was so well organized and the staff/volunteers did a great job! The BMW Championship was truly an awesome event!
The golf was great. There should be a source of potable water at the facility (other than for sale). The Fedex Championship format does not make sense to me going into the finals next week. How can someone start at -10 and others at even par. If you made it to the final cut it should all be even for the 30 players in the last event. It is as if the team entering the Super Bowl with the best record starts out with a 10 point advantage!
The biggest negatives were: - the extremely long walk from the school bus drop area to the course where the tournament was being played. For anyone with even a mild foot issue, or slightly out of shape, this was an exhausting start to watching the tournament. - the lack of paper leader sheets was a major inconvenience. Realize we're moving into a more paper-less world. However, to have to rely on looking at one's cell phone to try and figure out the order golfers were teeing off, not to mention having a schematic of the golf course itself, was most trying - not to mention batteries wearing down. For the amount that was paid for the tickets, at least a single piece of paper with some of this info. would have been most helpful - remember, most golf fans are not millennials! - no directional signs as to how best to return to school busses. My friend and I had to ask at least 3 different tournament officials the best way to get back to bus loading area; and to repeat what is in the first negative, the long walk was very difficult for many fans.. Positives: Beautiful venue; good number of concession stands
We had an amazing time at the BMW Championship. It was blazing hot but concessions for cold beverages were always quick and there were plenty of locations. My only issue is information did not say that NO locations accepted cash. I’m a cash based person and had plenty but no one accepted it. When I tried to use apple play at locations that didn’t work on their scanners either. So I had to transfer money from savings to checking to use my debit card which I would have been prepared if they said no cash. More accurate information would be great.
Food in the trophy club was horrendous. Help on the course was excellent.
