The Count Basie Theatre was the perfect venue for Bluey's Big Play. We had great seats, where my little granddaughter was able to clearly see the action. The performers were great, very engaging and entertaining. The audio was perfect, clear and good volume. Costuming was excellent and the show was entertaining for the adults, as well as, the younger set. However, there were some very young infants and children that were not yet able to attend to the performance, either not staying near their families, wandering the aisles and seats, standing on seats and/or wailing loudly. I highly recommend the show, my granddaughter is 5, which I believe 3 and up seems to be a good age for this.
We had an absolute blast, and watching my granddaughters face was priceless!
I have attended many shows for children, but never only 45 minutes long. I can understand short attention spans, but 90 minutes is the norm.
I love Bluey and I was excited to get tickets. I spent $65/ticket for the balcony section. The story was really cute and incorporated a lot of familiar things from the show which was fun. It was 50 mins with no intermission. The view was great from the balcony, but they did bubbles and keepy uppy at the end in the orchestra seating. It was awkward because everyone in the balcony was just watching all the fun in the orchestra seating. Eventually someone did get a balloon up to our level so it wasn’t a total disappointment. So the story was cute, the experience was fun but super expensive. I’m not sure I would have spent the money if I had known the balcony would be excluded and the show was short.
Only about an hour long (for the amount I spent I thought it was expensive). The show was "okay,"the kids loved the "keepy uppy"at the end with the balls but where we were sitting they didn't get to experience it. The merchandise was CRAZY EXPENSIVE!!! Two kids t-shirt's and two light up wounds were $116!!! I wouldn't go again.
It was too short. We couldn’t believe it when it was over. The kids were so upset. And since we were in the top tiers we didn’t get to play “keepie uppie” like everyone down below did. Which the kids were also very disappointed about. Not worth the money IMO!
The show was great until the end. The children enjoyed the story and music throughout the show. Wish they didn't end with a game where only people in the orchestra could play and the children in the balcony couldn't. The show didn't even try to throw balls to the right and left balconies. Left with 2 super upset children. If I had known about the end, I would have selected different seats. Really disappointed.
Attended with our grandchild and we all had a great time. We would definitely go again.
Very funny, great writing, surprisingly well written story, overall an awesome time, highly recommend!
