Four hours standing. The opening duo was just awful and it seems they were just friends of the main band. The Blues Travelers band was just a notch above the opening band but not much better. Lots of rhythmic noise with not much of anything else. Very hard to hear or to follow. This was noise for the drunks. I will never go tho any act such as this one again. Your booking agent should do a better job.
Was very excited for this tour to see Blue Traveler preform Four. John Popper stepped off stage a number of times to sit down off stage. It felt like he played way more harmonica then actually sang songs. Still a huge fan of the band but just how i felt about the show
I have watched this band for over 30 years. Been to over 20 Red Rocks shows, including the first one with the Allman Bros. I love this band. This tour was supposed to be about celebrating their fourth album, "Four"(not even my favorite). The set, which was barely over 90 minutes, included THREE cover songs (Hot For Teacher...really?). Yet, two of the best songs from Four, The Mountains Win Again (Bobby's song) and Just Wait, were not even touched. And then, the concert just ends. No encore. Just an abrupt stop and we were shooed out of the building. Incredibly sad. If they come out next year with a 20th anniversary tribute to my favorite album, Bastardos!, I will give them a second chance. Otherwise, I fear they have gone the way of the B-52s, performing for 75 minutes and then hightailing back to the bus. But thank you for all the previous decades of entertainment, boys. I will have the memories.
Show was OK. Not their best set. However, any chance of enjoying it was severely hindered by this venue drastically overselling the event and their apparent nonchalance towards air conditioning. Floor was shoulder to shoulder, nose to head (no dancing possible). Upstairs was packed rail to wall! Only the people on the rail could see the show. It had to be 100 degrees plus. People were hitting the deck. I’d think twice about seeing another show here! Revolution Live needs to consider the experience of their patrons before they don’t have any.
If we had known that there was an opening act, we would have made our plans accordingly. Never wasn’t mentioned. The ticket said it. It started at 7 PM so we thought 8 PM after everyone was able to get into the venue. There are no seats. It’s a crowded fire trap And we had to wait two hours and 20 minutes. We would have not rushed through dinner.
They had an overflow room where they were steaming the show but the sound didn’t work so you couldn’t even hear. The room with the stage was so crowded and the air condition wasn’t working. There wasn’t one spot you could go to even get a glimpse of the stage. The only good h the big about the overflow room was the stage was working. Worst show ever and such a disappointment. I’ve been to so many shows at Revolution Live and I don’t know if I’ll ever go back.
Awesome performance Blues Traveler rocked it, if they were coming back next month I would see them again. opening act (Cody Dickinson) comes out half way thru and its and ole time jam session ,like suttin out of Blues Brothers.👍😎👏
Great show these guys still kick ass. Revolution Live great venue as well.
This was supposed to be the FOUR tour. They played two songs off that album and a bunch of covers. I went to see their music, not another artists. Very disappointed
The concert was scheduled to start at 7. The site says you should get there an hour early to park. DON’T DO IT!! We got there early, waited in the general admission line while sales people walk up and down trying to sell you an upgrade to get in early or get a seat or a table. General admission doesn’t let you enter until 7 pm. Then the concert doesn’t even start with the warm up band until 8:30. They tear down and the headliner starts around 9-9:30. It’s crazy to wait over 3 hours for the concert. HOWEVER, Blues Traveler was exceptional! We LOVED them!!
I was really looking forward to this. It was supposed to start at 8, and a warm up band came on from 8:45 and then we waited until 9:30 for the band to get on stage. Immediately the guy next to me stood up and started dancing, half in his space and half in mine. I tried to push him away but he had a good buzz going and wasn't paying attention. I left an hour later, as I had work the next day and I was sick of being bumped. I love the Charleston Music Hall, but this band didn't show up very well at the venue.
Opened with "Run Around"which was great. Closed with "Hook"which was great. For an hour in-between it was a jam session with unidentifiable musical pieces. Popper walked off stage a couple of times; which seemed strange.
I had been looking forward seeing Blue's Traveler since I found out they were coming to Charleston and purchased tickets! They are a band I have listened to for probably 25 years! I've been to the venue they played probably a hundred times over the years for all kinds of shows and I thought this show would be in the top 10...I was terribly disappointed! First, a "warm up band"showed up that wasn't previously announced and showed up a half hour late from the original start time. They were nothing short of horrible! We had to tolerate them for almost an hour! When they finished, I watched people file out and not return, which looking back, we probably should have as well. Then we had another long wait until Blue's Traveler finally took the stage. They seemed more interested in hurrying through their play list than actually playing to the audience. Again, very disappointed. I have used Ticketmaster for many years and have never written a review like this one. I'm just sorry I couldn't write one of my normal "that was an incredible show"reviews. Lots to fix in this one...Good Luck!
Opening band played wayyyyy too long. BT finally came on around 10 pm instead of 8 pm. Played two songs and lead singer and guitarist left stage for bass soloist. All songs sounded alike and band seemed exhausted and not engaged. We left early. Waste of time and money.
Awesome show. They came out ready to put on a show. First set was awesome. Great venue also.
The opening act was way too long and seemed to not have it all together. There was a long break between Cody D and when BT came to the stage. Various times during the show John P. walked off the stage for a period of time in the middle of songs. I love the Tabernacle but the show was way too loud and we were all the way in the middle balcony.
The band still delivers! John Poppers voices is every bit as good as it was thirty years ago. Hearing him drive through each song with passion and precision was an incredibly moving experience. The band, and in particular lead guitar, was equally powerful. John pops off stage a time or two and during those breaks the band breaks free and delivers wonderful jam sessions that keep the audience engaged. They deliver more than could be conveyed on the albums making attending the lives shows a real treat.
We had an awesome time at the concert at the Tabernacle in Atlanta!!! Blues traveler still sounds the same as they did on the cd. Played all of the songs we hoped for and some great choice covers on the setlist. Best part is I caught a drummer stick from the drummer after the show!
First concert I've ever walked out of. Awful. Every song sounded the same and any attempted improv felt like the band members were out of sync.
