  • Blue Man Group was very funny

by HappyinScottsdale on 11/8/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 4 out of 5

Other than some of the music being a little too loud for my taste the overall show was very clever and funny. However Gammage is too large an auditorium to appreciate a show like this unless you are seated in the first 15-20 rows downstairs. Very clever use of video cam.

Blue Man Group was great, we really enjoyed the show, and it was more fun than we thought it would be.

  • Oscure View and Not Enough Music

    by Doanerfan1 on 11/8/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 1 out of 5

The concert was a little disappointing as well for us. There were waaaaaaay to many skits and not enough music. That is the reason we attended was to hear the music performed on different items. Also, they did not involve the audience as a whole participating. They only brought up two volunteers (but I am sure these people were planted in the audience) and only did one or two songs that included the entire audience. The entertainers did not use the entire stage. The only portion of the stage that we had a decent view of was the very front where the steps lead to on and off the stage. This was a very disappointing event.

  • Blue Man Circles Drain

by GuyFawkes on 11/8/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 2 out of 5

Music was okay - but more volume does not mean better music. Skits were drawn out. The material was old and dry, like a banana that had been in the sun too long. As the show wore on, the performers seemed to lose interest in the "idea" behind BMG. They no longer (if ever) had an edge with which to infuse their characters. The show should have been end-to-end entertainment, but it couldn't conjure basic theatrical prose. Was it entertaining? Not really.

Very entertaining; didn't really know what to expect and wasn't disappointed. Moves right along; although could ahve done without all the screen flashing of questions etc before show began.

  • Blue Man Group ROCKED THE HOUSE

    by Princesstwinkie1 on 11/8/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 5 out of 5

I thought the performance was amazing. I was always entertained. I would have loved to be seated farther down closer to the stage, but the seats were worth what I paid. I never new how Gammage was set up and it is really REALLY high up!

  • Did not meet expectations.

by AussieMummy on 11/8/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 1 out of 5

I have been wanting to see a Blue Man performance for years. Each time I go to Vegas friends talk me out of Blue Man and we go to Cirque instead. But, with Blue Man coming to my home city of Phoenix I decided to go. I don't know whether this was a really watered down version of the Vegas act, but nothing met the expectations I've had following years of reading Blue Man reviews. The drumming was not awesome, it was mediocre, the splashing was low-key. The humor was simple, at best, and the the whole performance seemed disjointed, not to mention unbearably slow in parts - for example the eating routine... I was yawning and considered leaving. The music wasn't memorable. The audience plants were not believable. The camera down the throat was just unpleasant, not funny. I wish I had taken my 6 year old, instead of my husband, because he might have enjoyed it more. I think for adults the whole thing was a bit of a yawn fest. I love live acts, have seen many. This is the harshest review I've written in a long time, because unfortunately, it was just a big let down, and my view was shared by the adults around us in the auditorium.

  • Blue Man Group was outfriggenstanding!!

I took my nephew for an early birthday present, I had seen these guys at the Luxor in Las Vegas when I lived there. They were awesome then and as I expected they didn't disappoint now. My nephew and my partner (his first time seeing them too) they both loved the show, well done guys, well done!!

  • Blue Man was "Cool Man!"

by GrammieLin on 11/8/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 5 out of 5

Great show for all ages! Different from the one I saw a few years ago downtown, which made it better because it was NOT the same. The grandsons really, really enjoyed it, too. (ages 10 & 11)

  • Blue Man Group = THE BEST EVER!!!

  • Blue Man Group

by Anonymous on 11/7/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the show!!! They did all the classics. Only parts that need change/deletion were the Captain Crunch stuff and the dinner scene with the twinkies. Would have liked more of the music with the pipes and such rather then those two 'acts.' Still all in all a GREAT show!!!

  • Blue Man Group was hilarious

I enjoyed the entire performance. No words needed throughout this comedy show. Appeals to a large age group and was very entertaining.

It was our first time seeing this show. It was an excellent show. Would see again!!

  • Good, but not worth the money

by Ribee on 11/7/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 3 out of 5

I purchased tickets to Blue Man Group based on what I had seen from their shows in Las Vegas. I payed close to what the Vegas show cost me, and expected a show of the same caliber. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I would recommend going to see them in Vegas in stead of spending money on this show. That being said, had I never seen them before, I would probably have really enjoyed the show.

  • Awesome show, but wish we were closer.

    by SB898 on 11/7/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 4 out of 5

That was an amazing show. We sat in the balcony though and I definitely wish we'd been able to sit down on the first level. We missed out on the fun, interactive elements of the show. There were definitely some moments when we were leaning over watching the fun down below and wishing we weren't stuck in the balcony. It was still GREAT fun and we loved it, thought. And if we could go again...we would! My kids have been randomly talking about it for the last couple days. They were even able to get "autographs" after the show. They loved it!

There were some really good, even genius, skits from this show. But basically it was loud and definitely geared to the younger and/or clientele one would get in a Las Vegas casino. I still have my hearing and even with the ear plugs in my ears, the noise was piercing and uncomfortable. It was a sight to behold but not entirely a thing of beauty. Among the genius was stupid. Maybe that 's what's what our society has come to........stupid! Stupid is not entertaining. Stupid is a lame attempt to entertain.
