Did not meet expectations.
by AussieMummy on 11/8/11ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 1 out of 5I have been wanting to see a Blue Man performance for years. Each time I go to Vegas friends talk me out of Blue Man and we go to Cirque instead. But, with Blue Man coming to my home city of Phoenix I decided to go. I don't know whether this was a really watered down version of the Vegas act, but nothing met the expectations I've had following years of reading Blue Man reviews. The drumming was not awesome, it was mediocre, the splashing was low-key. The humor was simple, at best, and the the whole performance seemed disjointed, not to mention unbearably slow in parts - for example the eating routine... I was yawning and considered leaving. The music wasn't memorable. The audience plants were not believable. The camera down the throat was just unpleasant, not funny. I wish I had taken my 6 year old, instead of my husband, because he might have enjoyed it more. I think for adults the whole thing was a bit of a yawn fest. I love live acts, have seen many. This is the harshest review I've written in a long time, because unfortunately, it was just a big let down, and my view was shared by the adults around us in the auditorium.
