    Absolutely Excellent!

by Brooke on 4/2/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

This is the second time seeing the Blueman group in Chicago. First time was 13 years ago when my husband and I first started dating. Fast forward we wanted to bring our kids 10 & 7 to experience it and it was so much fun from start to finish. They interacted with the entire audience no matter where you sat. Hands down one of the best nights we had while visiting.

    Fun engaging family show

by Queen H on 4/2/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

A must see at least once! The show is fun and engaging and great for all ages. The theatre is cozy and easy to get to. Prices are reasonable including the drinks.

    Absolutely great once again!

by Laura on 4/1/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

Saw them several years ago in Washington DC. Their ability to entertain is amazing. Great for adults and families with young children. The theater in Chicago is perfect venue for them. I completely understand the no photos during show. However, it would be awesome to get an announcement as they are giving final waves that you could take a photo at that time from your seat. At end of show. That is the only thing I would add.

    A Great Show

by Rover39 on 4/1/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

Absolutely wonderful show. We're going back in May, sitting in the 'wet' seats! Can't wait. Bought the Blue Man Group book and live DVD and loved them.

Blue Man Group Briar St. Theater Chicago

by ShadowPuppit on 3/31/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

I haven't seen this group for probably 10 years. Was stoked at the opportunity to see them live and take my teenage daughter to witness their performance. Several of the same performances that made them famous, and some new as well. They have a way of putting a twist on percussion in a way that just grabs the attention and ignites the imagination. The venue was clean, and easily accessible. And the Merch shop was organized to make it flow quickly. 10/10 would recommend.

    For Kids Show

by PG13 on 3/28/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

I hope in the summary of the show would indicate this show is for a bunch of kids instead of adults. This is even way too childish for adolescents. The show involves some awkward audience interactions and even disturbing popcorn eating. If there are no kids accompanying you, I would suggest to avoid this show.

A fantastic show for all the family

by PeterB on 3/27/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

We've been luck enough to see TBMG on tour in the UK and when we saw they had a residency in Chicago (where we were visiting) we had to come and see them. The show DID NOT disappoint! It was a full on performance with TBMG's musical excellence, comedic performances, audience interaction and skills throughout. We enjoyed every minute of the show and will certainly see them again when they tour the UK again this year. We were lucky enough to be able to participate in the Meet & Greet experience which started the moment we presented our tickets. The ticket checker knew our name, Troy took us to our seat (and was very informative as we chatted after the show) and Scott was a brilliant Blue Man when we got to meet him. We chatted for quite a while and he was very funny. We have some EXCELLENT photos, GREAT memories and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended.

    Tons of fun

by lybo522 on 3/27/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

We had a great time at Blue Man Group. I’ve seen the show twice before in other cities and this was the best experience of the 3! Everyone in our group LOVED it, from age 10-55. Great show for anyone, the teenagers even had fun!

    Lackluster

by Rex on 3/25/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

Our first time seeing them. Kind of drags to be honest. A few mild laughs. They are a polished team. The music what there is of it is good. Also it was quite short. They started 15 min after scheduled but ended just over an hour later . So it was under 75 minutes long. Yet still drags. The finale of shooting paper from leaf blowers was fun but seemed unearned.

Awesome show, do NOT sit in balcony

by Lisa on 3/17/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

I wish I had found more reviews like this before buying tickets. The theater is small so you will have no problem seeing things even if you sit on the last row or the side of the main floor. However we bought same price tickets in the balcony (one row in each side, that’s it) thinking the guys would be small and we could see better, but we could not. There were a couple of times we couldn’t see one guy doing something. There were some small rails in the way the whole time. But the big thing is this show is very interactive with the audience and we felt very left out. The guys were great and the show was awesome, fun, and creative! My kids loved it but we were all pretty bummed being in the balcony. There are probably only about 15 or less seats each balcony side, so the theater/ Blue Man Group needs to choose to just not sell these!!! I guess if you only had one chance and they were sold out it would still be worth it, but there were seats left in the main audience I wish they had pushed for us to buy instead. There should be warnings / explanations or they should just not sell balcony seats at all! Other than this, we definitely would have rated it 5 stars worth seeing!!

    Fun Time

by Nunny on 3/17/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

I took my 6 and 8 year old grand daughters to see a performance. They loved it. And the staff is so very helpful, providing ear plugs and ear phones for them.

    Not worth the money

by Kim on 3/17/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

After a while it was all the same. Grown men shoving cereal in their mouths, playing drums over and over and spraying paint.

    Not worth the cost

by Carol on 3/11/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

Was our first time seeing. It was myself, my husband and our 17 yr old. Although there are a few things that made us chuckle, and a few impressive drum moments… this show was really not worth the price we paid (850 Canadian). We all agreed… 50-60 per person was all that it would have been worth. 95 percent of the audience was 25 and under.

    Immersive fun!

by Silver on 3/7/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

By far the most interactive and immersive concert experience ever. Truely an experience that any age group can enjoy, the audience was full of children laughing joyfully at the silly antics, young adults volunteering to participate, middle aged people getting into the groove, and so much more. It would be impossible to capture the experience on camera, you really want to have good seats. (Advise against the balcony seating) The experience was as much a treat acoustically as it was visually, the sounds surround you and the lights and screens make it an experience all its own. I’d never seen more than a song or two from the Blue Man Group, so this exceeded all expectations!:) Audience participation is highly encouraged :) Bring the whole family, all your friends, get there 45min early and parking is right next door. Grab lunch nearby and then catch the show at 1!:) Who are the blue men, what motivates them, and why are they so fascinated with paint? The world may never know, but the world should go see them live anywhere they can :) If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and just get the tickets! They provide hearing protection for young ones, and rain ponchos for those in the splash zone.

    Not what I expected

by Annemarie on 3/6/24Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

The percussion, imagination, comedy and audience interaction were all that I hoped they would be. However, I bought tickets in the front row specifically to be in the famed "splash zone"... but the "splash zone"was all hype and almost no splash. The paint drums were so far to the back of the stage that no paint even reached near the front of the stage, let alone splashing the audience. The only "splash"was a half-hearted turn of a seltzer dispenser toward us to sprinkle us a bit. No need for ponchos even for that. As I said, the rest of the show was really good - but the splash zone was a big disappointment.
