About

We hold memories in our blood. It connects us. It defines us.

Jacob Boehme is a choreographer, dancer and writer from the Narangga and Kaurna nations of South Australia. When Jacob was diagnosed with HIV in 1998 he reached out to his ancestors in search of answers.

Blood on the Dance Floor explores the legacies and memories embedded in our bloodlines and each person’s need for community and connection. Examining the way in which blood defines a person, Boehme questions how our most precious life source can both unite and divide us.

Jacob Boehme’s contemporary voice pays homage to the ceremonies of his ancestors whilst dissecting the politics of Gay, Blak and Poz identities in a visceral narrative that channels time, space and character. Blood on the Dancefloor is an unapologetic physical monologue.

    all the bands were amazing

by kimberlyxkaos on 5/9/12Masquerade - Atlanta

I went to this concert with a buzz of excitement :) when i got there the line was short and tolerable. The condiments were kinda expensive but it was worth it because of the music! Man the music was FREAKING AMAZING! The bands were close to that genre ( BrokenCYDE and Blood on the dance floor) The main bands were so good but it was hot. it was EXTREMELY HOT inside there was ZERO air conditioning :(

    Fight to Unite Show

by NathanGrim on 5/2/12Masquerade - Atlanta

I had won a contest that the headliner was doing, so I arrived at the show about half an hour before the show started. The first act Haley Rose was wonderful, it was really interesting to have an acoustic set, but her voice was remarkable. New Years days was the next band to play, and I was overwhelmed. The singer Ashley Costello performed the entire set with a leg cast on, and she still managed to have a lot of energy. The Bunny The Bear was the next band to play, they were very unconventional, but nontheless fun band. William Control was the next act, and the main reason I cam to the show. I have been a fan of William ever since I heard Aiden back in 2007. Every song that he played I knew, and he did them fabulously. During "Razor's Edge'' he brought out a girl, and ''tortured'' her on stage, it was fabulous. I didn't much pay attention to Polkdot Cadaver, but they did a Micheal Jackson cover and it was wonderful. Deuce was the other reason I was at the show, his set was also a lot of fun. He played a song from his old band, Hollywood Undead, called ''Undead.'' Which would be the highlight of his set. I don't care too much for brokencyde so i sat down during their set. Blood on the Dance Floor was pretty great. Everyone was dancing the entire time, and having fun. Dahvie and Jayy were both amazing performers and kept the crowd going. So overall, minus the one band I didn't like, it was a great show.

    Polkadot Cadaver makes the tour

by Heef on 4/24/12Northern Lights - Clifton Park

I bought tickets and traveled almost 400 miles round trip solely to see Polkadot Cadaver. The other bands are not my thing, but PDOT was awesome. Get tickets, show up for their set, and then run from hoards of 14 year old girls when the other bands take the stage.

    Pokadot Cadaver Rocked

by Tinman3148 on 4/24/12Northern Lights - Clifton Park

Pokadot Cadaver was the highlight of the night and the only reason we went. Loved it when the singer asked the crowd if anyone had any friends that thought they were vampires and half of the 12 yr olds raised their hands. He then told them to you better stop hanging with them because they are assholes. Great Band!

    Kick Ass

by kupkakekids on 12/21/11Masquerade - Atlanta

I was so blown away with botdf. They were amazing on stage. Jay was a darling and signing and taking pics with fans. He for sure loves his fans and took time for everyone. They were truly kick ass and I would definitely attend another one of their shows actually I am looking forward to doing so. Now there is one thing that I would have definitely liked to have seen and that was Dahavie signing and meeting his fans. He was no where to be seen mostly but he did kick ass on the stage. He didn't seem to work the crowd as good as Jay. He seemed to only see what was in front of him and not to much to the sides like Jay did. So when he did pay attention to the balcony we were like speechless but this happened only once. Oh, my daughter loved Jay and him holding her hand and singing to her. She absolutely loved it. The show was only $13.00 and we got so very much more. Oh, All for Nothing was super great as well.
