About

Created by lead singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Christ Stein, the punk/new wave band Blondie became a phenomenon in the late 1970s by successfully breaking into mainstream pop culture  —thanks in part to Harry’s insouciant, sassy vocals. Millions of fans worldwide continue to embrace the band's signature vibe — an energetic, edgy sound that's still fresh and contemporary. In concert, Blondie always serves up a stylish mix of sounds ranging from pop and reggae to rap, with a dash of retro disco and electro-pop thrown in. Now in their fourth decade of performing. Blondie has released a new album that has already generated several bestselling singles as well as an international tour.

Blondie released its first European albums in the mid-1970s, but it wasn’t until 1978 that the band got international attention with the release of Parallel Lines. During the next several years, the band released a string of hits, including “Atomic,” “Call Me” and its biggest hit, the iconic “Heart of Glass.” In 1982, Deborah Harry began to pursue a successful solo career, but the band reformed in 1987. Blondie was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, the year of its 30th anniversary. That same year, it released a best-of album, Sound & Vision, followed by Panic of Girls in 2009. The band's 10th album Ghosts of Download will be released in January 2014. The new album has already garnered a popular single, “A Rose by Any Name,” and enthusiastic ticket holders got the opportunity to hear several of the band's newest singles during Blondie’s European tour in 2013. Recently, Debbie Harry delighted her millions of fans by announcing that the band will do a promotional tour for the new album in 2014 — although concert dates have not yet been announced.

Blondie remains a must see band!

by iMikejones on 3/19/23Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

My experience with the band harkens back to the their early days at CBGB’s and Max’s Kansas City in NYC, so I’m quite familiar with their career over the years. As I’m now a S. Florida resident, I was excited to see them playing at the Au-Rene Theater, a great venue to see shows. The band didn’t disappoint, as Debbie’s vocal were still a joy to hear even at age 77. Clem Burke on drums is always a show in itself, as his style is inimitable. The addition of Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols pedigree on bass is a natural fit, combining with friend Clem for an outstanding rhythm section. The only missing element was Chris Stein, who unfortunately could not tour with the band. The added guitarists however were more than capable capturing the band’s unique sound, a powerhouse of five band mates and Debbie on vocals. Overall, the vibe was great, with Debbie, Chris and Glen maintaining the same attitude 40+ years later that truly defined punk for my Blank Generation. Great show!

Blondie was great; The venue not so great.

by M. S. on 3/19/23Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Blondie was amazing. Even the couple of songs I had never heard were good. The only problem I had was people standing during the performance. I have no problem with people wanting to stand and dance but when i blocks my view it's a problem. There was a young woman a couple rows ahead of me and she was standing almost continually — blocking my (and others behind me) view. The more we watched we realized there was another young woman standing in front of the woman in front of me which is probably why she was standing. This wasn't really a "standing up" concert so it would have been nice if the ushers would had asked those standing to sit. We asked the woman in front of me to sit down and she did for awhile it didn't last so it somewhat ruined the experience. $28 for a mixed drink at the Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center is incredibly expensive.

Why all the political 💩? 😟😕🙄💔

by PunkLady1969 on 3/19/23Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Well, at 77, Debbie Harry made it to the stage... in orthopedics. Her voice cracked at the high notes, and the lyrics she did remember, were 'meh'. I feel I wasted an evening and a couple hundred bucks watching bdsm men pole dancing. What was once my punk hero, was sucked into the 'woke' system like dust into a Hoover. Zero stars for selling out and 2 stars for trying to relive your heyday. I leave Debbie Harry and my 2023 Blondie experience with 1 ☆.

    Spectacular venue

by Marlon on 3/19/23Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The sound was unreal, place was clean & staff were helpful. I would’ve love to have meet and greet at least with one band member & merchandise to buy. Blondie is timeless what fun I had!!

    Couldn't Ask For More.

by Charlie on 9/11/22The Anthem - Washington

Staff at the venue: perfect. Friendly, helpful, there to make sure you have a good time. Venue itself: world class. Just big enough to feel like a proper concert, but intimate box seating that gives you a fabulous, comfortable view. I'm not a good judge of bars, but it seemed like it had enough for everybody. Show was a match for all of the above. The Damned were a fabulous warm-up band that stuck to its hits and still do them well. Blondie are a great band still, as they've drafted a couple of young guitarists who are stars in their own right. Deborah and Clem were great as always. Super happy!

    Blondie Rocked Chicago

by BP on 9/8/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

We saw Blondie and The Damned at the Chicago Theater in August and the show was amazing. Blondie is a strong front lady and allowed the rest of the band to show off their talents as well. I you miss this tour, then sorry about your luck…

    ABSOLUTE LEGEND!!!

by Plumcova on 9/7/22Leader Bank Pavilion - Boston

Deborah Harry still commands the stage at age 77! The band brought great energy to the show and the crowd was fully engaged as Blondie ran through their iconic songs, each one a bit of a fully crystalized time capsule. Maybe the range wasn't quite there on a couple songs but she still cuts a stylish figure on stage and the band was tight!

    Still sounds great

by Capthenn on 9/5/22Leader Bank Pavilion - Boston

Blondie still sounds great. Great stage presents and has a great time on the stage that puts the audience in a great place, nothing like Roger Waters, I’d go see Blondie again, but still can’t even listen to Pink Floyd since seeing Waters.

Had a great time! The band is still great and they played every one of their hits. The venue is small enough that you see everything even from the nosebleed seats. I highly recommend the Paramount.

    Blondie Rocked!

    by P. H. on 9/4/22The Paramount - Huntington

I saw Blondie at the Paramount 8/31/22. There was no opening act that evening so was treated to nearly 2 hours of Blondie. The band played many of their biggest hits from the 70's and 80's and a few newer hits as well. The band rocked hard and Debbie Harry still has a strong and beautiful voice. I had a fantastic time and I highly recommend this band and venue to all lovers of music.

Blondie put on a great show

by Jackie on 9/2/22Leader Bank Pavilion - Boston

Debbie Harry still sounds great - the band sounded great too. She sang for about 2 hours, danced, rapped and engaged with the audience- I will see Blondie again whenever I get the chance. They did perform all their hits too- and did an encore.
