About

BLEACHERS IN CONCERT:

Indie pop outfit Bleachers is the latest project from Jack Antonoff, the talented singer and songwriter best known for his work with the band Fun. With Bleachers, Antonoff builds on the anthemic pop sound that elevated Fun to superstar status by expanding his palette to include more electronic textures and cutting-edge production techniques. Fun is known for performances that live up to their name, and Antonoff's live show with Bleachers is no different. Ticket buyers will see fan favorites like "I Wanna Get Better" and "Like a River Runs" get the full live treatment as Bleachers hits the road in 2014 for a string of highly anticipated festival appearances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

New Jersey-born Jack Antonoff began working on his side project Bleachers while on the road with indie superstars Fun in early 2013. For nearly a year he kept the project under wraps until he launched his debut single "I Wanna Get Better" in February 2014. The track peaked at No. 2 on the US Alternative Songs chart, generating significant buzz around the project. Antonoff has stated that he remains fully committed to Fun, and plans to work around that band's schedule as he begins to tour in support of Bleachers. With his debut full-length Strange Desire hitting shelves in 2014, Antonoff has Bleachers fans chomping at the bit to catch him at his upcoming shows.

    Block party

by KJaz on 8/5/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - Philadelphia

The sets were shorter than I expected but it was fun! All three bands had great energy and stage presence.

Bands were great. Spot was great, however the stage wasn't high enough to see the band very well.

All three bands tore it up! Wild Cub was my favorite of the three!

    Bleachers needed the big stage

by Lionelnotmessi on 8/5/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - Philadelphia

I saw Jack Antonoff and Bleachers at firefly and the y killed it except mid performance jacks guitar went out. I have him another chance and he did not dissapoint. He connected with the crowd really well and played all of his music. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because he didn't have the stage set up like how he did at firefly and he needed more room for people to get rowdy. Above all great show, great performance, and a great time can't wait till he comes back to Philly. Hopefully then he'll get the good stage and I can give him 5 stars.

If you can go, do it

by AnnieDooley on 8/5/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - Philadelphia

It was really awesome! The venue and the band a were great. There was a lot to do, too. Only drawback is the rough crowd, but that's any concert. I would definitely go again.

Great show for an outdoor venue!

by StrAngel20 on 8/5/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - Philadelphia

Great show for an outdoor venue, they energy was great. Too bad there was a show following this on for it was a little difficult to see the bands on the back stage vs. the main stage usually used at festival pier.

    Good bands, nice crowd

by Pmricci on 8/5/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - Philadelphia

All three band brought nice energy to the concert. It is so great the 104.5 gives back with these fun summer free concerts. The overall sound and viewing is not good at the back stage at festival pier. But it a nice spot to meet up with friends and hear some music!

    I love you radio 104.5

by deeteedub on 8/5/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - Philadelphia

These Radio 104.5 Block Parties are the place to be at in Philly in the summer. I highly recommend to all of my friends. I do wish that less tickets were given per person (limit of 2) to get more people to actually attend the event. A lot of times people order 4 tickets at a time and don't use them all.

    Bleachers

by LindseyK1229 on 8/5/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - Philadelphia

Bleachers had an amazing performance but it was a huge disservice to put them on the backstage. I have attended 6 concerts at festival pier and have been very pleased with the performances and facilities. When it is on the main stage you can see the performance from anywhere. Unfortunately this was not the case for bleachers. There was even huge VIP stands directly in the middle making it even more difficult. The music was awesome but it was a huge disservice to a great band.

    Missing the Piazza

by AgileBeast on 8/5/14Festival Pier (at Penn's Landing) - Philadelphia

This event has taken a serious hit since moving from the Piazza. The positioning of the stage made it so that only a handful of people could actually see the stage. Between the sound stage being right up front and in the middle and the area in front of the stage being elevated on wooden boards it was hard for most people to see the stage. This made for a boring atmosphere and most people just sitting/standing around talking rather than listening to the music.

As a Steel Train fan and fun. fan, I am extremely excited to have Jack back, singing lead and rocking out as usual! Amazing guy and musician!

Really fun, quality band. Jack Antonoff is personable and interacted with audience. The opener (Junior Prom) wasn't so great though... we don't think they even played their instruments!
