About

Founded among the steel mills of Birmingham, England in 1968, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, singer Ozzy Osbourne, and drummer Bill Ward formed what would arguably become the greatest heavy metal band of all time. Initially a heavy blues rock band named Earth, the band took occult and horror themes and combined them with heavily distorted down-tuned guitars and invented a genre that is as vibrant today as ever. Black Sabbath also composed songs dealing with social instability, political corruption, substance abuse and war. Releases such as Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970) and Master of Reality (1971) are looked upon as vanguards, records which influenced artists as varied as Iron Maiden, Metallica and Soundgarden.
Black Sabbath was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. Ranked by MTV as the "Greatest Metal Band" of all time, they have sold over 70 million records and countless concert tickets worldwide.

Black Sabbath  has had its share of tumult throughout the years -- Tony Iommi has been the only constant in the band. Singer Ozzy Osbourne's substance abuse issues led to his departure in 1979. He was ably replaced by Rainbow’s Ronnie James Dio. But after several successful albums and concert tours with Dio at the helm, Sabbath entered a period of constant change throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s. Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, Ray Gillen and Tony Martin all took turn as front men until Osbourne reunited with his band mates in 1997. Since then, Black Sabbath has reformed to play concert tours and record on several occasions, lastly upon the 2013 release of the band’s 19th studio album, 13, which featured all original members sans Bill Ward.

    Black Sabbath was masterful

    by Redbeard1972 on 11/11/16BOK Center - Tulsa

One word: spectacular! This was my first time seeing Black Sabbath, a band I have revered since I was a teenager, and I was absolutely floored by their performance. Ozzy, Geezer, and Tony are master showmen, incredible musicians, and the addition of Tommy Clufetos on drums was brilliant. These Godfathers of Metal still rock after their many years on this small, musical planet. The audience was a bit cool, but this is understandable given the "advanced" age of many in attendance and the troubling election results that were being reported while the show was in progress. Sabbath did their best to rejuvenate the crowd, and they didn't disappoint. I'm still flying high in the afterglow of this most excellent show!

    Black Sabbath "The End"

    by Hawgfan34 on 11/11/16BOK Center - Tulsa

I was fortunate to see Black Sabbath perform at the BOK Center in Tulsa Oklahoma, I waited 35 years to see them perform and it was worth every second of the wait. The band didn't play any song off of their latest album. "13 " but played a setlist of their classics including "Fairies Wear Boots", " Children of the Grave" "Snowblind" " Iron Man" "War Pigs" " Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and featured a Bass solo by "Geezer Butler" and an amazing drum solo by "Tommy Clufetor "( he put Alex Van Halen & Tommy Lee to shame) and " Paranoid" was the encore. The show last just under two hours and no one sat down or stopped singing the whole time except to listen to OZZY ramble on Tony Iommi & Geezer Butler played awesome and OZZY is still arguably the best front man in Rock N Roll he had the audience in the palm of his hand and you could tell the band was enjoying themselves. My only complaint was they didn't play " Sweet Leaf" but I'll go to my grave safe in the knowledge that I was lucky enough to see this amazing band live

Black Sabbath/Rival Sons "The End Tour"

by SaintedSons on 11/11/16BOK Center - Tulsa

The show was st Tulsa's BOK Center, great acoustics. Opening act, Rival Sons, absolutely brought their "A" game! Although 6 LP's into their career, they are still trying to prove they're for real and they are. Last time I saw Black Sabbath 38 years ago on the "Never Say Die@ tour, great music but the show was nothing like this. Although some theatrics, nothing that took away from their music-it was all them. Oozy. Tony and Geeser were worth the price of admission! Tony Clufetos, from Ozzy's solo band, was probably the surprise of the night. Resembling a young Bill Ward, pigtails, beard and drumming style was absolutely incredible! If you have an opportunity to see Black Sabbath, whether the first or last time, GO! You'll hate yourself otherwise.

    They've Still Got It!

    by 2Hippies on 11/11/16BOK Center - Tulsa

Blown away by the fact that, with exception of a younger (phenomenal) drummer, these older guys still sounded just amazing - felt like I stepped back in time. It really was a great show and Ozzy was excellent at getting audience participation. He should do a workout video, I swear I would buy it! He was hilarious - he was practically doing jumping jacks and saying "get your f***ing hands in the air"! He also said "I love you" and "God Bless You" to his audience over and over again. The encore wasn't a disappointment, either. Way to go, Black Sabbath! Soooo glad we got to see you guys in concert again after all these years!

    Black Sabbath was awesome

by Heunwjausjskeie on 11/11/16BOK Center - Tulsa

It was an actual concert and not a show. Not a bad thing at all when I say that. Ozzy got on stage and sang his music and I couldn't have been happier. Wasn't a lot of running around lights going crazy smoke everywhere crap just awesome music performed by one of the best.

    Black Sabbath was great.

    by Harley199 on 11/11/16BOK Center - Tulsa

The show was great, Black Sabbath has been a bucket list band to see. After we sat in our seats a usher from the BOK came and traded our seats for some in section 108. Very nice gesture and thank you.

    Black Sabbath Rocks

    by TX58 on 11/11/16BOK Center - Tulsa

Excellent concert! Although Ozzy doesn't have the pipes he used to, he did a credible job! Tony and Geezer were spot on and the drummer was great! Really good show and the BOK Arena was a great venue! It was great to take my college aged son so he could see live classic rock!

by Cantend on 11/11/16BOK Center - Tulsa

The concert was good! Ozzy was entertaining, hit every note and sounded good!! But for those of us who have followed the band for years, and have seen a few Black Sabbath concerts...DISAPPOINTED! Why would you NOT play CRAZY TRAIN and NO MORE TEARS?? Two of your greatest hits! SO, SO DISAPPOINTED!

Ozzy sounded great, Tony and Geezer both played their asses off and the drummer was phenomenal. Even if you aren't a Sabbath fan this is a great concert. No big special effects or fireworks needed, just great heavy metal music from a legendary band!

    Hate to see it end

by bsnider68 on 11/10/16Klipsch Music Center - Noblesville

What a freaking fabulous end to the legends that is Black Sabbath. The show was phenomenal. They played a lot of songs that they don't normally put in their set list. And of course the staples that we all know and love. I hated to hear the last song as that was the final one I'll ever see live again.

Wow! An amazing show. Ozzy sounded surprisingly well, best I've heard him sound in a several years. Tony and Geezer were great as always. MGM Grand Garden was a nice venue for the concert. The opening act Rival Sons were really good too.

    Massive Excellence Rocking Concert

by Julie666 on 10/19/16Gexa Energy Pavilion - Dallas

I saw Black Sabbath at the Moody Coliseum in the early 70's and their performance was stellar. But Just seeing them on their farewell tour in 2016 was the BEST performance and stage show I have seen in my lifetime. I have seen over 5000 concerts, seen Ozzy do his solo career and his performance then was pitiful. This performance was WOW!!!! BEST EVER. Toni and the guys were immaculate. The lite show/big screen videos were in you face HOT!!! I have to put this Black Sabbath Concert on my top 10 list as NUMBER 1!!!!!!

No one available for the VIP parking at the time of checkin for soundcheck. We had to walk all the way around the building almost missing the cutoff time. Food was't good. Had to carry souvenir bags all night.
