Billy & The Kids began in 2014 as an all-star assembly of jam band talent led by Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann. The ensemble has evolved into a full-fledged touring force featuring Joe Russo's Almost Dead guitarist Tom Hamilton, Tea Leaf Green bassist Reed Mathis and Disco Biscuits keyboardist Aron Magner. With space regularly held for surprise guests sit-ins, the group has shared the stage with Warren Haynes, Carlos Santana, Robert Randolph, Billy Strings, Bob Weir and many more.

I went to the Saturday 10/21/23 Billy and the Kids show at The Capitol. From reviews of the Friday show, the vocal mics were too low or off for the start of several songs. Same thing happened Saturday night. Might be the singers not on the mics, but unlikely. Usually the sound at the Cap is killer, but not this time. The ensemble was good, but Billy looked tired and a bit out of it.
I wasn’t a big fan of Barr bros playing with them so many other good people that could have played …. Setlist was pretty much a dead co setlist and after seeing them 100 times In last 7 years last thing I wanna see .. but grateful to see billy he looked skinny
One of my favorite venues ever and a terrific show.
What a sound!! What a great group of musicians!! We rocked Fri and Sat!! Thanks Billy Thanks Kids Hope to see you in southwest Florida or wherever in Florida you are!!!
I really like the Pier 6 venue (other than limited food options) but the combination of the surrounding water and being right in the city is great. The band came out with lost of energy which did not diminish. Setlist was great (especially loved Beat it On Down the Line, Help on the Way, Lucy in the Sky and Terrapin but was all good). After seeing both Dead and Company and this show this summer, I am convinced that the music of the Dead is alive and well and still gaining new fans. There will be those to carry it on.
Music, Venue, Scene, L🤯VED!!! Hope Billy and the Kids is the Further for Dead and Co..
