About

Raised in Michigan and now based in Nashville, GRAMMY Award-winning Billy Strings is known as one of music's most compelling artists. Most recently, he unveiled "California Sober," a collaboration with legendary artist Willie Nelson--his first release since partnering with venerable label, Reprise Records.

The collaboration follows Strings' most recent full-length album, Me/And/Dad, which was released last fall and features Strings alongside with his dad, Terry Barber. The product of a longtime dream, the record features new versions of fourteen bluegrass and country classics that the two have been playing together since Strings was a young child.

Since his 2017 debut, Strings has been awarded Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, Artist of the Year at the 2022 and 2023 Americana Music Awards, Entertainer of the Year at the 2021, 2022 and 2023 International Bluegrass Music Awards, Best New Headliner at the 2022 Pollstar Awards, Breakthrough Artist of the Pandemic at the 2021 Pollstar Awards and has performed on the 64th GRAMMY Awards, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," PBS' "Austin City Limits," "Bluegrass Underground" as well as countless sold-out tour dates world-wide.

Billy Strings is nominated for three awards at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards: Best Bluegrass Album (Me/And/Dad), Best American Roots Song ("California Sober" feat. Willie Nelson) and Best Country Duo/Group Performance ("High Note" with Dierks Bentley).

  • LIVE MUSIC! FINALLY!

by QUEENIE on 4/5/21Columbia Speedway Entertainment Center - CayceRating: 5 out of 5

Shows were great! The band is so talented and is getting better all the time. Coves were really nice and socially distanced. Staff at venue was wonderful!

  • Absolutely Fantastic

by SeesTooManyShows on 2/14/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Billy Strings is certainly on fire right now!! This show was fantastic from start to finish - great energy, the crowd was truly blown away by Billy and his band at numerous points. Great to see such an amazing artist at one of the best/most beautiful theaters in America. Love the Cap and Love Billy Strings!

  • Face melting awesomeness!!

by ClareBear on 1/28/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

I can't say enough about the talent of Billy, Billy, Royal, and Jarod. Seeing them perform live is amazing and although it's not quite the same musically it is very reminiscent of seeing the Dead way back when. Great people, great vibes, mind bending music! And The Capitol Theater speaks for itself.

  • The concert was absolutely wonderful in every way.

by Blondie on 1/26/20Mars Music Hall - HuntsvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Billy Strings is one of the most talented upcoming artists. His entire band are equally as talented. He is a must see for music lovers. We were not aware that Mars Music Hall did not have seating on the floor and that balcony seating was extremely limited. 3-4 hours is a long time to stand for some people. The experience would have even been better if we had seats.

  • Strings in Harmony

by LionHeart on 1/22/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

The Band and the man! Wow. Class act all the way. Billy Strings has taken bluegrass jam to a seriously new level. From delicate picking to downright shredding! My heart and soul is full after a weekend at the always awesome Capitol Theater in Port Chester NY!

  • The amazing Billy Strings!!!

by Annie on 1/21/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Billy is the real deal. True Bluegrass roots with a great jam vibe and an awesome band. It was my fourth time seeing him and he just gets better and better!! He couldn't have asked for a better venue; the Capitol is the quintessential Rock Palace, acoustically perfect with the pulsing energy of its storied history. Billy clearly felt that energy. He knew who his audience was, throwing us some Dead covers, Jerry's take on the Stones, a "little bit of Feat" and his own great writing and composing. A perfect night of music.

  • Truly memorable evening

by MB on 1/21/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 4 out of 5

Thank you Billy Strings and band members. That was a night I will remember for a long time and probably the rest of my life.

  • Billy Strings

by Jonathan on 1/21/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous show. You should definitely take the opportunity to see this guy play if you can. Now, as for Ticketmaster, I think there should be an investigation. This process of having to get an early pre-public password and hang online at the time that the tickets open just seems like a fraudulent process. I am online at the prompted time and all I can get are seats in the upper balcony??? That is preposterous. My friends went online New Years Eve and bought tickets 1 row behind us. So why was I caught up in this push for getting tickets immediately----what was my benefit? Very disappointing how the ticket process has been co-opted by these monopolies

  • Billy Strings 1/18/2020 @ the Cap

by K. M. on 1/21/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Energy flowed throughout the Cap. Staff was friendly and welcoming, even event security at the door. Wait service in the upper balcony was an added bonus. Even the furthest seat in the house is a great one to take in a performance. Billy brought the house down with an incredible performance- including a special nod to Jerry in the hallowed walls of this most special venue.

  • Awesome as always

by Crash on 1/20/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Billy Strings is taking bluegrass to new and exciting places. They blend traditional bluegrass with progressive bluegrass seamlessly. The musicianship is extraordinary. The Capital Theatre is a wonderful venue with excellent sound and friendly staff. I highly recommend the venue and Billy Strings.

  • What a night!

by AJL on 1/20/20The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Started the night off with Billy serving us hot chocolate outside the show, then proceded to set the place on fire with an incredible show. If you get a chance to see Billy, don't miss it, you won't regret it.

  • Disappointed in venue

by Disappointed on 11/26/19Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 1 out of 5

There were too many tickets sold for the is event. The venue cannot successfully entertain that many people. The event was sold out but more tickets were released days before the event. Line wrapped around the block for hours, the show started before everyone was in the building (even though they showed up early and got in line). There were so many people that not everyone could get close enough to even see the band. This was a complete waste of time and money.

  • great artist/terrible venue

by concertslove on 11/26/19Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 3 out of 5

the venue was the most packed show i have ever attended- i was genuinely considering my safety... so oversold. the venue needs to make some changes. billy strings and the boys were amazing!

  • Madison Theater sucks!

by Justin on 11/26/19Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Madison Theater always oversells big shows and it makes for a miserable experience. Billy Strings was incredible, a unique once in a lifetime talent. However, i'll never go back to the Madison

  • Great show and venue.

by dstho128 on 11/17/19The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

This was our first time to a show at The Stone Pony. We didn’t know what to expect. This also was our first time seeing Billy Strings. He puts on a great, high energy concert. We loved the small personal setting. The music wasn’t too loud. Will definitely attend another show there.
