Billy Crystal shares a piece of his personal life, in a way that only he can. I laughed, I cried, what an incredible journey he took us on.

    Billy Crystal is awesome

by gridget on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

From the opening bit to the end of the show, Billy Crystal tells his life story with tremendous humor and pathos. We laughed, we cried, we learned so much about his friends and family - famous and legion. Crystal tells his stories with great delivery, awesome facial expressions, fun energy and physicality in front of a great backdrop of his father's 8 mm films.. The State Theatre is a homey venue that fits this piece perfectly. Go if you can, you will love it, dahling!

    700 Sundays

    by crazEladE55 on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

The only negative I have to comment on this amazing show is that I had no idea what the title and story line were based on. As a mother of six children who lost their father at a very young age, there were some really difficult moments for me. Would I have gone knowing this ahead of time? Probably, it just caught me off guard.

    Such Talent

    by LakeLady2 on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

We loved Billy before the performance, now we feel like we grew up with him. Billy is the ultimate story teller, and what a story he has to tell. Who would think he had such and rich, interesting childhood filled with jazz greats, a loving family, tragedy and lots of laughs. Now we can see how Billy became the amazing person he is today. Thanks Billy, for sharing your story.

    Billy Crystal was hilarious

by Sailinaway on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

This was a very, very funny show, just as I hoped and expected. There were moments when my husband and I were laughing so hard we had tears rolling down our cheeks. Honestly, Billy Crystal is one of the funniest comedians around. The show staging was really nice--simple and used still photos and 8MM movies from his childhood to augment his stories. I am amazed at the energy it must take him to perform this show night after night. We thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

    Billy Crystal 700 Sundays

    by MIke1962 on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

Great show! I would not change a thing. My only complaint is with the State Theater for having a huge bar just as patrons are trying to get in to the show off the cold streets of Minneapolis. The bar caused terrible congestion in the entry way. I heard many patrons complaining about this around my wife and I as we waited in the cold. Open more mini bars upstairs or to the back of the lobby not right in front. It seemed to have taken up 1/4 of the lobby and with people standing around it it really slowed everyone down. Okay rant over Great show!

    One Saturday, 700 Sundays

    by Pastimer45 on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

Sometimes coarse, edgy, but nearly constantly funny. Billy Crystal's 700 Sundays could, in many ways, remind many of us from the baby boom era of our own families and early life whatever part of the nation we grew up in. It was hard to imagine Billy is now 65. But then, it is hard to imagine I am now nearly 68.

    One Saturday with 700 Sundays

by UJacob on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

Took my 84 year young mother and we both loved it. Billy is a master story teller with an incredible story to tell. Billy's family is filled with characters that shaped who he is today-not unlike ourselves. Woven throughout his story were old movies that his father took and family photos that would transport you back in time. The common thread throughout was a message of family/connection/love/ and of course laughter. Blessed am I to have had an opportunity to share a laugh and a tear with my mom while watching one of the greats.

Bill Crystal, Masterful Performer, in 700 Sundays

by Vintageantiquer on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

Billy's 700 Sundays was awesome! This masterful performer can have you laughing and crying at the same time. What a wonderful story of his life and what a great and rich childhood he had. I had no idea! I didn't want it to end. I am glad that he had a soft spot for Minnesota so we could be his pre-Broadway "guinea pigs"!! :-) Thanks for sharing a walk down your memory lane Billy!!! You are an entertainer's entertainer!!

Billy Crystal could call his show 700 Kleenexes!

by DuckyMir on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

My husband and I saw 700 Sundays - we had both read the book as well. To put our thoughts into words is impossible - it has been several days and the emotions raised are still right on the surface. This was my family, my home movies, parts of his life are parts of my life. Even his relatives. . . my relatives. My husband, who barely shows emotion, was teary on our way out to the car. We laughed until we couldn't breathe, and cried for all of the things we have been through, and not thought about for years. I loved, loved, loved it - and wish him and his family much nachas and zei gezundt!

    Billy Crystal's spectacular 700 Sundays !

by gigot on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

3 hours on stage by himself, and not one minute goes by that you are not fully drawn into Billy's life events, funny and sad, moving and surprising. All the characters of his family are portrayed, dancing, miming, singing ... You get it all.

    700 Sundays was just okay

by Anonymous on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

The ushering at the State theater left something to be desired, as it was slow moving into the theater and people were getting crabby. There was a huge bar set up in the foyer of the theater that blocked everyone's entrance, poor set up. I don't know what was going on. The show itself was good, we enjoyed it. I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would. I don't know if it was worth $110 a ticket. And I like Billy Crystal, who doesn't.

Billy Crystal: 700 Sundays - Amazing!

    by ljm77 on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

Great seats, great performance, was on my bucket list.. so glad he stopped in Msp!! Though the "no cell phone" was a bit over the top (cell phone nazis circling the floor), there was not one phone that rang the entire performance, which was really nice; great efforts on Mr. Crystal and the State Theatre's part. I'm normally bored an hour into the performance - not this time. Crystal delivers a stellar performance.

    A very enjoyable evening

    by Deborah147 on 10/29/13State Theatre - Minneapolis

Who knew a one man show talking about life could be so entertaining? There were parts of this show that anyone in the audience could have connected to their own family upbringing. I learned a lot about Billy Crystal and took with me some very memorable things he talked about. It was a lot of fun.
