Big Thief on Tour
Big Thief, the group known for uniquely soft and vulnerable folk-rock, hit the road for their 2022 tour celebrating the release of their latest album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You. With a style that draws comparisons to Phoebe Bridgers, Stevie Nicks, alt-J, and Fleet Foxes, the group is best known for the hit single "Paul," a phenomenally composed and equally sad song about an estranged lover trying to get back into your life. The song quickly amassed more than 55 million streams on Spotify and catapulted the group's 2016 debut album, Masterpiece, into underground fame in the indie community, leading to stops at South by Southwest and a live performance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers." The group followed up their debut a year later with Capacity, which peaked at No. 15 on Billboard's Americana/Folk Albums chart. Fans praise Big Thieff's live acoustics, calling the performance "absolutely fantastic" and "one of the best shows I've ever been to." Tickets are selling fast, so get yours to see Big Thief today.
Big Thief Live in Concert
Assembled in 2015 in the borough of Brooklyn by Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek, Big Thief is a four-piece folk-rock band that also features Max Oleartchik and James Krivchenia. The group has released five studio albums in six years, charting in nine different countries, including reaching No. 1 on Billboard's Americana/Folk Albums chart for their 2022 release, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You. The album also hit the Top 40 on the Billboard 200. Lenker is originally a native of Minnesota who learned music at an early age from her father. At age 12, she knew she wanted to pursue music as a passion and career. She attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and met Meek, a fellow alumnus, and the two kindred spirits formed a powerful relationship both on and off stage. The two wed and divorced shortly after, but still remain bandmates and self-described "deep friends."

I'm seriously considering quitting my job and following Big Thief around the world. That's how good they are. They bring the noise and the love. Go see them!
One of the better shows I’ve seen. I love this band, the venue and crowd were amazing. The energy was high and everyone was feeling it. What a great post covid return. Welcome back Big Thief!
Absolutely fantastic band in Big Thief who put on a great show and at the Ryman, they played everything I hoped to hear and more while also playing new material that sounded fantastic. One of the best shows. I've ever been to and the Ryman was a fantastic venue with its history and amazing set up to allow this band to play and sound amazing.
A truly fantastic show by an incredible group of musicians, with the highlight being the ethereal and gorgeous voice of the lead singer. A special band that should not be missed.
So good They played a lot of new material Amazing sound Thank you Stay together
Great show at excellent venue. COVID protocols at ACL not too onerous.
Sat in the front center of the middle balcony. Big Thief is the best! The sound was bleh though. Glad I knew the songs and lyrics, because the vocals were surprisingly unintelligible. The bass was also super undefined :/ The room was beautiful, but the sound left me unsure if I will see another show at The Moore.
I’m so glad I was able to see them now, in this moment. They’re amazing. Can’t speak for everyone, but this music connects with me. The kind of show where now, days later, it’s still playing in my head. Thanks Big Thief! Also sound on the first balcony of the Moore (an incredibly tall space) was gorgeous.
The venue has poor sound quality. The stage is too large and much of the sound goes backward or gets distorted. Palehound's vocals were unintelligible, and Big Thief's not much better. I had seen Bon Iver there previously and sound was much better. Maybe it's just the sound techs fault. It's not a very welcoming venue, either. Big warehouse feel and probably the last show at the Sylvee for me. Far better choices around Madison. The Sylvee does attract big name groups, however...and at a much higher price. I'm sorry...I was really looking forward to seeing Big Thief.
I thought I liked them because I heard them in radio play. You know, never two songs in a row. But after three songs I wants to stick sharp objects in my ears to keep me from throwing myself off the balcony. Couldn’t take it. Had to leave. Btw, Twain is an overly sensitive Charles Manson.
Delivered more than I expected. Playing live this band has chops. Expect more great things to come from this band.
