Big Mountain Tickets

Big Mountain are a reggae group from San Diego. Led by vocalist and guitarist Joaquin "Quino" McWhinney since the band's formation in 1988, Big Mountain released their debut album, California Reggae, that same year. The group’s 1992 follow-up Wake Up contained their first single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, “Touch My Light.” In 1994, Big Mountain released their Billboard 200-charting album Unity under a new core lineup featuring McWhinney, guitarist Tony Chin, keyboardist Michael Hyde and percussionist James McWhinney. The band attained their greatest chart success with the album’s lead single and cover of Peter Frampton’s 1975 hit “Baby, I Love Your Way,” which reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was RIAA-certified gold by the end of 1994. Big Mountain maintained a consistent release output before taking a break in 2005, and reformed in 2013. With McWhinney as the sole founding member still active in the group, Big Mountain released 2016’s Perfect Summer and 2023’s Hear That Sound.
