Such a great show!! Enjoyed every minute of it! Wish it was not ending would of loved to have seen it again.
Can't believe this show has closed, it was a beautiful, incredible, and moving play.
Unfortunately, I saw Big Fish on its last day on Broadway. I wish I could recommend it to my friends. I understand that the show's high production costs played a part in its cancellation, but sorry that playgoers will be deprived of great performances by the entire cast. I was lucky to experience the magic of Big Fish before the flood.
I'm french that was my first musical show on broadway : Amazing. Music, dance, theatre, all was perfect, and the script follow the movie so that's perfect.
Loved it! Wasn't sure what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised. Also had great seats. I would recommend this show to anyone.
I have been fortunate to see over 60 musicals and was bar none the very best. Character development, simple scenery and quality major actors. Norbut Leo Butz was 1st class from start to finish. He made the show so outstanding.
The critics who panned this show should be stripped of their credentials. Big Fish was an amazing show with the most inventive staging I've ever seen. Very cool use of video projection and wonderfully talented cast, including Norbert Leo Butz and Kate Baldwin.
I absolutely loved the Musical Big Fish. My husband was brought to tears along with me. The actors were exceptional. I really believe there should be some Tony awards coming their way. I heard it might be closing and I can't understand why. Norbert Leo Butz was absolutely amazing. HE especially deserves a Tony, but the entire cast is award worthy.
My family and I were big fans of the movie, and being a musical family by nature (all musicians!) we had a bit of trepidation about seeing it converted to a musical. However we could not resist the allure of the story and took the dive...our expectations were greatly exceeded! The story was tightly adapted and well edited for Broadway. The music was charming and well suited...okay, not the kind of catchy tunes you walk away with, but to have pushed for those kinds of songs might have made the musical feel forced. It flowed along with the water images and the smooth, phenomenal sets. Cast was brilliant! We passed the tissues, stood with the rest of the audience to applaud, and left wondering why Broadway let this catch get away, given that it was closing!!...oh, and one more plus: a rarity these days, it was an entirely clean show, very safe for the whole family!
Big Fish was fantastic. I especially loved the special effects. This is a show for all ages.
Unfortunately caught this show on its closing days. Though there were a couple of slow moments it seemed to have everything a show should have to succeed especially great talent. Norbert Leo Butz was amazing as usual. I guess the one thing that it needed was an audience. Sold out the performance that I attended.
The show was perfect. And since it is an emotional story, it is impossible not to be moved.
Really enjoyable. Plot loses itself a little along the way. Music is listenable, but eminently forgettable. It will make you cry.
Amazing presentation and truly exceptional performances. My two sons thoroughly enjoyed themselves as did my husband and I. At one point, there was not a dry eye in the theater. I would highly recommend although they are now closed in NYC. They need to bring it back in the Summer!
This was a wonderful play although I felt it was too long and drawn out trying to get everything detail in. Not a good play to see if you're tired coming from work, etc.
I read the book and saw the movie. Heard the play Was closing so how good could it be? I am so Glad I "risked" it. What a great performance . Everyone crying at the very emotional last couple scenes. The acting was superb! What are they thinking ending this play!
It was a great story and, i'm happy I saw the musical before watching the movie from a few years ago. It's sad that I won't be able to share the experience with anyone else.
This story is very close to my heart for a couple reasons. It happened to have been the last movie my two teenaged children, their dad and I went to together. They all loved it so well and my kids couldn't help think of their Dad's own wild stories. Weeks later their dad passed away quite suddenly and at the funeral the children got to see the hundreds of people who loved their dad - just like how things happened in the story. So I took my, now adult, children to the show and we all loved it. The cast was lovely and we have always been wild about Norbert Leo Butts. But unfortunately his performance was a let down. Perhaps because the show was closing soon (?) but he didn't connect with the cast emotionally at all. That was unfortunate. But the show is beautiful and such a lovely sentiment. Go.
This was,by far, the best Broadway show I have ever seen and I have seen quite a few. The scenery was beautiful. The costumes were gorgeous. And the actors were superb, especially Norbert Leo Butz. It was such an emotion-filled show..I was crying at the end. It is a travesty that this show closed already. Why anyone would listen to the review of one critic is beyond me. I hope he knows what damage he has done to the people who worked so hard on this show and the audience that didn't get to enjoy this. I hope this production gets to travel and maybe someday come back to Broadway...I will be the first to buy tickets again.
