Kane and G Rap on stage taking turns spitting their classic material, with a cameo by Masta Ace (at the conclusion of the show) made this one of my most memorable shows in my 30 years of being a fan of this generation of HipHop, the Golden Age!
Let me start by saying I loved this show!!!!!!! Grand Daddy IU Master Ace Craig G MC Shan Shante Biz Markie Big Daddy Kane Cool G Rap I was amazed that Master Ace had so few hits. I remember it differently. I was not a Shan guy so he was just OK. Roxanne rocked the house as did Cool G. Rap. Biz Markie was good but if you've seen him before it was more of the same. The highlight for me was "Just rhyming with Kane" Big Daddy my man Mello get on the mic cause you know you eat Jello" Crowd went nuts. I've seen Kane and Biz together before they never do this song. That alone was worth the price of admission. Kane --always good-- was in really great form. Absolutely rocked the house. He capped off his show with a special appearance by Scrap lover who hasn't performed with him for 15 years. They did the Kane dance for what Kane said was the last time. He slipped and they did it again and Rocked it perfectly. The entire juice crew came out for the Symphony. Including Cool G. Rap. Who also did some of his joints. Overall tremendous show.
Great show, I would go again. Love the old school concerts no BS just grown folk fun.
I bought tickets to see the Juice Crew as a Christmas gift for my husband. As music lovers and die hard old school hip hop fans we both were in our seats rocking as my husband was reciting the lyrics along with Craig G, Biz Markie, and Big Daddy Kane who were his favorites. This concert took us back to our early teen years when things were just simple and fun...the beginning of our love story. We had a great time!
This was a fantastic show from start to finish! I was thrown back into an era when music made you feel good. Can this show be duplicated in Philadelphia?
Had a good time... only thing is the place is very small and was very crowded...
Loved to see this come together, unforgettable night. Was sad Kool G rap didn't get to perform longer. Still enjoyed myself!!!
The show was super dope. Real old school! A great mature crowd with no confrontations. Everyone was into the show. Would love to bring them to Charlotte
Oh my goodness! Just wish they didn't oversell the venue so we could have moved to the music.
It was a great show. I believe the promoter overbooked Venue. Overall I had an awesome time. Elbow to elbow room only.
gr8 show lets do it again!!!! excellent performers sound system was also gr8
Very great show really enjoy bring back lot of memories. B.B. Kings over sold tickets to crowed
An awesome concert................................
Wish the show was longer! I could watch his sexy self all night. Lol
I took my best friend as a surprise for her bday and it was a great show...up close and personal and great....She is still smiling over the night...
This show was amazing!! To see two legends of Hip-Hop up close and personal made this show priceless. They prove just like fine wine they get better with time!!!!
It was the perfect venue(Howard Theater DC) for the perfect show. It was all the way live to be partying on a Thursday with other hip-hoppers! Big Daddy Kane and Rakim were as lyrical as ever and held their own throughout their acts. They were as pumped and energized as the crowd. It is an experience I will never forget, money and time worth spent!
This was a fantastic show. Big Daddy Kane and Rakim were great. They got the crowd involved and everyone was having a great time. I had tried to see Rakim twice earlier this year, but he cancelled both times, so I was happy to finally get to see him. After Kane finished, we waited about an hour before Rakim finally came out and performed, but it was worth the wait! He performed all of his most well known songs and even shook hands with many of the people who were towards the front of the stage. Big Daddy Kane looks great for his age. You'd never know he's only a few years from 50 years old. I like that he wore a suit. That was a pleasant surprise. I'd definitely recommend going to see these guys if they are going to be performing anywhere within a reasonable distance of where you live!
Big Daddy Kane has not lost a beat. His voice was amazing. His energy contagious. Great show. Wish I could say the same for Rakim. He was late coming on the stage after Big Daddy Kane. I think he was either too drunk or high to give a decent performance. His energy was so low. Very disappointed. I wish Big Daddy Kane had closed the show. If they are performing together, it's worth seeing Big Daddy Kane, but if you miss Rakim, you will still live a happy and joyous live.
