I took my best friend as a surprise for her bday and it was a great show...up close and personal and great....She is still smiling over the night...
This show was amazing!! To see two legends of Hip-Hop up close and personal made this show priceless. They prove just like fine wine they get better with time!!!!
It was the perfect venue(Howard Theater DC) for the perfect show. It was all the way live to be partying on a Thursday with other hip-hoppers! Big Daddy Kane and Rakim were as lyrical as ever and held their own throughout their acts. They were as pumped and energized as the crowd. It is an experience I will never forget, money and time worth spent!
This was a fantastic show. Big Daddy Kane and Rakim were great. They got the crowd involved and everyone was having a great time. I had tried to see Rakim twice earlier this year, but he cancelled both times, so I was happy to finally get to see him. After Kane finished, we waited about an hour before Rakim finally came out and performed, but it was worth the wait! He performed all of his most well known songs and even shook hands with many of the people who were towards the front of the stage. Big Daddy Kane looks great for his age. You'd never know he's only a few years from 50 years old. I like that he wore a suit. That was a pleasant surprise. I'd definitely recommend going to see these guys if they are going to be performing anywhere within a reasonable distance of where you live!
Big Daddy Kane has not lost a beat. His voice was amazing. His energy contagious. Great show. Wish I could say the same for Rakim. He was late coming on the stage after Big Daddy Kane. I think he was either too drunk or high to give a decent performance. His energy was so low. Very disappointed. I wish Big Daddy Kane had closed the show. If they are performing together, it's worth seeing Big Daddy Kane, but if you miss Rakim, you will still live a happy and joyous live.
Big Daddy Kane was awesome. Scoob and Scrap were in the house and they did their patented dance manoeuvres! BDK was on point with all his rhymes whether fast or slow. Rakim was looking dapper in a Carrhart hoodie and Levis jeans. He did all his old school material and a couple new songs. Crowd was lively and into it! I would go see em again!
Maybe one of these most energetic, fun, amazing, and entertaining performance I ever been to. I'd definitely recommend seeing Big Daddy Kane if he's in your city. He will NOT disappoint you.
Great show! Big Daddy Kane and his band brought his game up to a new level of sexy!
The Concert was great! His flow is still amazing!!
Loved the up close and personal atmosphere. Will be attending more shows.
Great show, but I thought he was touring with a band
Love the show. What old school is and was about. Just havin a good time.
Slick Rick played a pretty dope set, but Big Daddy Kane stole the show. High energy, great MC skills, voice booms, and sure ain't no half-steppin' here. Big Daddy is a true legend and arguably the best kept secret in hip hop. He's just about the music and not about the bling, cars, and other BS current rappers sing about. Upcoming MC's, if you want to learn from a great, come and take notes!
The show was great!! Both Big Daddy Kane and Slick Rick performed their most memorable raps and a few extras!! The crowd was really into the show and the drinks were also flowing. It was a great, peaceful atmosphere and security seemed on point. I had a great time celebrating my birthday with the same friends I went to concerts with when I was a teenager. I just wish I could have met Big Daddy Kane, that would have been the icing on the cake!!
The line to get in was ridiculous! The line was around the building and the wait to get in was far too long. The acoustics were horrible and you couldnt understand any of the lyrics the artist was saying unless you knew the song. Slick Rick was not that good.
Off the chain .... The Wilbur was rocking on the floor like one big old school Block Party Boston damn near sold it out... Kane / Rick brought it!
We had a great show and both performers were amazing! It started early and ended early so we missed some of it but still had a good time!
I have been to a lot of show in the past but This old school show by far one of the Best inYears. Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane still have the Skillz like they Teenager Again. it's like time Stood still.
Great show, unforgettable experience! Wish they didn't section off the floor section like they did, let people on the floor live Wilbur! They did all the hits and my favorite songs except Slick Rick didn't do his verse off "Just Another Case" by CRU.
