About

berlioz is a jazz-house producer from the rural outskirts of Cornwall, England. Taking his stage alias from the French 19th century composer, the DJ born Ted Jasper describes his unique style as “if Matisse made house music” and burst onto the scene in 2022 with singles like “nyc in 1940,” “miro” and “la danse.” In 2023, berlioz followed that string of singles with the five-track EP jazz is for ordinary people, featuring tracks like “hot house,” “deep in it,” “r&r” and “wash my sins away.”

  • Music that feeds the soul!!!

by Madilyn Kendall on 2/5/24Marquis - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely the most amazing music experience, we need more music like this nowadays, nothing brings souls together like jazz does. Absolutely LOVE!!!

  • Where was the opener???

by AM on 2/5/24Marquis - DenverRating: 2 out of 5

Berlioz’s set was excellent, and it was a nice surprise that there was a small live band, but the show was over at 9:30? There was no opener, the dhow was short, and there was no merch. Definitely not a $50 ticket show. Hopefully he does it better next time.

  • This show was amazing

I really enjoyed this venue!! It was my first time in Colorado, Denver! I was very impressed with the Venue of choice and loved the artists music!! Overall it was great experience! I loved that there was a bar for adults and the drinks were enjoyable. Thank you Live nation and thank you Berlioz! Also thank to the live band! This was an awesome time and I can’t wait to see what Berlioz does in the future!

  • Short, but good

by Brock on 2/5/24Marquis - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

The show was under an hour, but they were quite fun to watch. My only complaint is that at times the bass/drum kit where overwhelming, and you couldn't hear the actual music. The saxophone frequently got drowned out.
