berlioz is a jazz-house producer from the rural outskirts of Cornwall, England. Taking his stage alias from the French 19th century composer, the DJ born Ted Jasper describes his unique style as “if Matisse made house music” and burst onto the scene in 2022 with singles like “nyc in 1940,” “miro” and “la danse.” In 2023, berlioz followed that string of singles with the five-track EP jazz is for ordinary people, featuring tracks like “hot house,” “deep in it,” “r&r” and “wash my sins away.”

HE WAS AMAZING AND SO WAS THE BAND! The improvisation skills were next level… especially from the sax player! Also I don't know what people expect… a Jazz Band or DJ... I would say he's a fusion of both... he's his own thing... I think he’s just finding his identity as a new artist. It was nice to hear how his sound evolving. (P.S. - I was there with a friend so I didn’t mind the wait… it’s funny how he’s getting bad reviews about that and not the actual performance)
Honestly after waiting over an hour and a half for him to come on, I was very underwhelmed and left early. His music sounds better in my living room or through overear headphones.
Started two hours late with no dj for the first hour is crazy work. Honestly just ok
it was an amazing show 10/10 would recommend. Please go watch it!
Concert was supposed to start at 7. He came on at 9 and left at 10:15. Making us STAND for 2 hours (standing venue) is insane. Music was great, but I wanted to leave by the time he came on. Did not interact with the crowd at all. His opener had good music.
Berlioz and the band were fantastic, venue is gorgeous and staff is exemplary. Coat check system needs to be updated asap. The $7 we spent on a “coat check ticket” was essentially useless. The opening act - wonderful female vinyl dj, but her name was not announced anywhere - disappointing when LN can’t bother to deliver the exposure it promises to artists.
Wonderful concert in a wonderful venue. Hearing beliroz live had ruined the studio album for me. I need a live recording of the album asap. Especially of the sax, bass and keyboard parts. I went on 12/5 and unfortunately the opening act was not a fit for the night. A talented musician, no doubt, but her act wasn’t really grand enough for the space. Felt more like lounge/ambient music.
The venue was amazing, there was a huge crowd, getting there early was a huge benefit but i was technically late Ticket said 7 and i arrived by 7:30 to find out the artist didn’t go out til 9 But he was efficient and timely The crowd was really immersed while the band played but it was barely noticeable when the opener appeared and was playing
Was the saxophone jet lagged? My favorite songs were ruined. Thank god bass and keyboards were amazing, or else I would have gone home even earlier. Sorry Berlioz, I really really like you, but I’ll wait for the live concerts a little more.
an entirely different experience hearing Berlioz live- his saxophone guy deserves a massive raise
Amazing music, amazing vibes, superbe night. Absolutely would see Berlioz again (& again)
I LOVED THE SHOW ! Berlioz gives such an amazing experience with sounds and instruments combine.
It was a wonderful show, with the saxophone and pianist exchanging solo one after another. Progressive upbeat and beautiful mixing. It was really unique!
Very good live adaptation of Berlioz’s music. The musicians were impressive. Great ambiance and great performance from all 4 of the artists on stage.
The music/ambience was phenomenal. Excellent jazz house artist. He didnt have an opener at the show, so total play time was roughly 45 minutes. Next time, would like to see either an opener or a longer set for the ticket price.
Berlioz in NYC, nothing better. The live band and beats make for a perfect night out, and will be attending any time he’s in the area from here on out. Excited to see where the music goes from here!
Berlioz came on a little after 8pm at a sold out HOB. They preformed all of their songs, all of which felt really uninspired as they failed to really get much of the crowd moving. Around 9 they quicky moved off stage leaving people confused as to if they were done or taking a break. A few minutes later they came back for a 10ish minute encore that failed to inspire. They had no charisma, didn't interact with crowd, and they had no lighting design. All in all, I felt like the talent wasn't there and that the concert was pretty lackluster. I think this is because they only got popular on TikTok/Instagram and were able to capitalize on their internet fame since they had sold out shows during a debut tour.
I knew this show was gonna be short, but decided to show up with vip for a great time. While the vip service was a bit confusing, the show itself was great. Primary hindrance was the packed standing room, the show not starting on time, and staff being a bit overwhelmed. I wish the show would've been longer and made space for people to dance. I was only in luck because of my vip seating, but without that I would've been more disappointed. His music is a vibe, but what's a vibe without the space to dance and an early bedtime? If I see him again, it'll have to be a dance setting and not concert venue. But vibes were on point!
Was a quality show. Only complaint is the abrupt ending and he only played for like an hour. Would of been better if he was on for 30 min longer but overall amazing show.
