  • Fun night

by Nalex on 10/28/13BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Belle (Hilary Maiberger) was wonderful... Gaston(Tim Rogan) was perfectly cast and Lumiere (Hassan Nazari-Robati) ... (with the help of Cogsworth...(James May)) almost stole the show! The sets were beautiful and the ensemble played their parts well . Where did they find Roxy York!

  • Beauty and the Beast was Magical!!!

    by bamabrowneyes2008 on 10/28/13BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely loved Beauty and the Beast. It's exactly what I expect of a Disney production. I had already seen The Lion King and was afraid that I my expectations may be too high, but it lived up to my expectations and more! :)

  • Worth seeing Twice

by sfvnbham on 10/28/13BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

I saw this show years ago at the Kennedy Center and thought it was awesome then. Seeing it again on a smaller stage, still awesome. They do a fabulous job with the sets, and the talent is top notch!

  • Beauty and the Beast was Amazing

by Anonymous on 10/28/13BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first experience at a broadway play and it was amazing. I was in Awe or the actors, costumes, backgrounds etc. You could tell so much work went into it.

  • Great Show!

Awesome family entertainment! Wonderful story. No boring spots and just all round great show.

  • TERRIBLE!

    by music252 on 10/28/13BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 1 out of 5

This show was terribly disappointing. I have seen low caliber Children's Theater productions better than this. The sets were extremely scaled down and low quality. The Library sets were especially cheap and poorly done. Most of the male characters were overtly and over the top Nelly. Belle's wig was too far back and made her look like she had a receding hair line. The Gold dress was tacky and the bows on the side looked especially cheap and unnecessary. The Beast all but totally ruined "If I can't love her" and didn't even sing the first half of the song where there are clearly pitches. This part should be played by a Baritone, not a Tenor.

  • Beauty and the Beast was awesome!

Loved Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The entire show from start to finish was great. The set was beautiful. Loved the new songs that were not in the movie version or the version I have seen at Disney World. The talent of the actors was outstanding.

  • Broadway worthy production

by summerspapa on 10/27/13Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 5 out of 5

For date night, I took my 9 year old granddaughter to this production of Beauty and the Beast. I don't know who enjoyed it more, she or I! It was highly entertaining and extremely worth the money, which was affordable for anyone, in my opinion. Thank you, cast and crew, for a wonderful night!

  • Great play

by rxrebel on 10/27/13Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed the show as it is one of my favorite movies ever. The cast was great and the musical numbers were spot on. However, The Beast and Lumiere left a little to be desired. The Beast was shorter than Belle which hurt the illusion of the play for me, also his voice was way too high and not menacing enough. Lumiere is supposed to be French and have a French accent but the actor didn't even come close or try for this he just used some goofy accent that bothered me the whole time. Gaston, Lafou, Cogsworth, Belle, and all the others were perfect. Comfortable seats, started right on time, fun experience. Would have been 5 stars except for The Beast and Lumiere.

  • A HIT

by Talleylee on 10/27/13Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 5 out of 5

My little girl laughed and cried, and she all but danced in the aisle to a story she always loved. You see, she is 25 now and we shared a wonderful evening of joy and memories.. The cast was terrific, Belle, Gaston, Mrs Potts and Madame especially good.

One of the best plays that I have ever seen. It was absolutely wonderful. Everyone that went loved it.

  • B&B on Broadway

    by KayK93 on 10/25/13Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, I really enjoyed it. It was really nice. The only problem for me was that some of the voices got really annoying. I loved the theatrics. I do think this is more for adults more so than children. I went with my mother and she had a problem with the beast appearing to be weaker. I wasn't bothered by it. If I could I would go see it again.

Great show for kids. Just thought there could've been a little bit more scenery & props. Actors were great & piano player was amazing.

The play was amazing. I took my 7 year old daughter to see it and she loved it. I paid $10 a person with a promo and was 6 rows from the stage!! Had a great view and a great time.

Just bad...I have seen Beauty and the Beast many times and this was by far the worst

  • by Anonymous on 2/13/13John Paul Jones Arena - CharlottesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely wonderful! Definitely great for all ages-- the adults laughed as much as the kiddies did! Colors of costumes and scenery were beautiful. Belle and Gaston especially sounded exactly like they do in the Disney movie. Unforgettable!

  • Fantastic!

Best musical I've seen at JPJ C'ville, Va. Took my 5 year old granddaughter & she enjoyed her first musical play.
