About Beatles vs. Stones
Beatles vs. Stones on Tour
It’s the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll riddle. Who was the greatest band of the ‘60s: the lovable moptops from Liverpool or the bad boys from London? The Beatles vs. Stones live revue doesn’t purport to provide a definite answer, but it will present two equally convincing cases, as two tribute bands square off in a British Invasion battle royale. Playing the role of The Beatles is Abbey Road, who re-create the Fab Four’s most iconic looks - from the well-dressed lads seen on The Ed Sullivan Show to the psychedelic circus showmen in Sgt. Pepper uniforms - as they take you on a magical musical tour through one of rock’s most revered repertories. And representing the Stones side is tribute act Satisfaction (aka The International Rolling Stones Show), whose uncannily Jaggeresque frontman, Chris LeGrand, peacocks his way through the band’s myriad eras, up into the ‘80s. The two bands each perform three alternating sets, trading some cheeky trash talk along the way. But despite their legendary rivalry, The Beatles and Rolling Stones were actually good friends in real life, and in that spirit, this musical showdown comes to a peacefully rousing conclusion. The two groups join forces at the end for a joint jam, thereby answering the question, What would Lennon and McCartney sound like belting out the chorus to “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”?
Beatles vs. Stones Background
Though its members did make a small handful of TV appearances and recordings together, The Beatles and Rolling Stones never actually performed on the same concert bill before the Fab Four retired from the road in 1966. So in 2011, The Beatles vs. Stones tribute show was launched in Los Angeles to retroactively rectify that situation by bringing together the world’s premier Beatles and Rolling Stones tribute acts on one stage - Abbey Road and Satisfaction. Since then, the show has toured across America and around the world, while hosting residencies at Harrah’s casinos in Reno and Laughlin, Nevada.
I would go again , had so much fun . The men were very talented
Great show, both bands did a super job. I would highly recommend this show.
The period pieces/clothing/hair/makeup as the two groups transformed set-by-set over the years was subtle but effective. The last iteration of Keith Richards was spectacular! The song choices were popular (though not necessarily the best) and correctly reflected their wide spectrum of musical influence. Sound system was a bit inadequate. The encore medley was a command performance!!
It was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed the music, the choreography and the talent! Each set was very well performed. We especially like Mick Jagger - he did a great job! They all did!!! I would definitely see it again!
Both tribute bands did a creditable job of recreating the sounds of their respective artists. They were engaging and really entertained the audience and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. This show exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to other fans of this genre.
The tickets were very reasonably priced for so much fun! While the wigs are obvious, the musicians are excellent and really try to channel the original bands. Ringo's head was swaying and bobbing, Mick Jagger's swagger was spot on. I only wish the older crowd would have gotten up and danced more, I felt like I would be in their way. I really wanted to dance, and dance a lot! I recommended to others, my sister will be seeing it in CA.
The Beatles vs Stones was a fantastic show. The Beatles members sounded so much like the real band and were great showmen. The guy in the Stones that was playing Sir Mick was just like him. He had all the right moves. We enjoyed the whole show and would do it again.
Two different groups of 6, representing Beatles or Stones played favorites for 2 1/2 hrs. All performers were part of the same traveling company. Suggest you google 'Beatles Vs Stones' performances to see when they might perform near you. A rare opportunity to relive Great Bands!!
The musicians were excellent! The humor, the music, the costumes were fantastic.
The contrast of both bands over different musical sets from distinct musical periods with some whitty banter made for a very entertaining show. Particular standouts were the Beatles' Sargent Peppers set in full regalia and the end mash-up with both bands. The guy playing/singing Mick Jeager really moved like him and the guy who was Keith Richards was as scary looking as the really Richards, LOL. That's a compliment!
Didn't feel the vibes from the Beatles, John 's voice, not so hot. George had BEST song with My Guitar gently weeps..he should sing more... Mick was AWESOME..his voice..eh but great performer. He praised the local four string quartet and gave them much praise, that was very cool! All in all, we had a lot of fun (it was my birthday gift)
My husband and I really enjoyed this show. The venue turned out to be a great part of the evening. We already have another show booked for next month. The group Abbey Road, really nailed the Beatles. I was really impressed with their segments.
The Beatles were okay, the Stones not so good. Our seats were in front of a wall, Row BB, seats 11 and 12. The chorus of many of the songs was repeated and repeated and repeated, probably to use up time and make the concert worth your money. The music was way too loud so you could not really hear the song words. It was the last night of their appearance at Harrah's, so maybe they were just too tired!?!?!?! The concert was a disappointment and I would not recommend it to my friends.
I love going to tribute concerts because they are really more like sing-along events. The venue was quite small so pretty much everyone had a great seat. My friend and I sang and seat danced throughout the whole concert. This was such a fun night. I loved every minute of it!
Tribute bands at their best. Lots of fun and sing along time. Some were dancing in the aisle. The "Beatles" had a pretty organized show and great costumes. The "Stones" were pretty much spot on, especially the one who played Mick Jagger. Because of some of the lyrics to some of the songs, I would not recommend for children under 16. References to drugs and sex in some of the songs. All in all, pretty much fun for us Boomers!
Was a lot of fun. We even took our granddaughters 9 and 13 and they enjoyed it.
Beatles had instrument problems and hacked through it. Stones lead vocalist lost voice but great stage act.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. both of these bands performed above our expectations. They were very engaging with the audience. The appearances were good enough to enjoy the likenesses. Paul even played a left handed bass guitar. I have seen several other tribute bands for the Beatles and Stones and these two by far were the best. Their humor poking fun at each other make it all the better. Highly recommend.
Excellent concert-I hope they come back to St Louis
Great entertaining show, had the people all involved
