About Beatles vs. Stones

Beatles vs. Stones on Tour

It’s the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll riddle. Who was the greatest band of the ‘60s: the lovable moptops from Liverpool or the bad boys from London? The Beatles vs. Stones live revue doesn’t purport to provide a definite answer, but it will present two equally convincing cases, as two tribute bands square off in a British Invasion battle royale. Playing the role of The Beatles is Abbey Road, who re-create the Fab Four’s most iconic looks - from the well-dressed lads seen on The Ed Sullivan Show to the psychedelic circus showmen in Sgt. Pepper uniforms - as they take you on a magical musical tour through one of rock’s most revered repertories. And representing the Stones side is tribute act Satisfaction (aka The International Rolling Stones Show), whose uncannily Jaggeresque frontman, Chris LeGrand, peacocks his way through the band’s myriad eras, up into the ‘80s. The two bands each perform three alternating sets, trading some cheeky trash talk along the way. But despite their legendary rivalry, The Beatles and Rolling Stones were actually good friends in real life, and in that spirit, this musical showdown comes to a peacefully rousing conclusion. The two groups join forces at the end for a joint jam, thereby answering the question, What would Lennon and McCartney sound like belting out the chorus to “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”?

Beatles vs. Stones Background

Though its members did make a small handful of TV appearances and recordings together, The Beatles and Rolling Stones never actually performed on the same concert bill before the Fab Four retired from the road in 1966. So in 2011, The Beatles vs. Stones tribute show was launched in Los Angeles to retroactively rectify that situation by bringing together the world’s premier Beatles and Rolling Stones tribute acts on one stage - Abbey Road and Satisfaction. Since then, the show has toured across America and around the world, while hosting residencies at Harrah’s casinos in Reno and Laughlin, Nevada.

Great show between to icon bands

by Merna on 2/19/24Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

Loved the show. Great music by both bands. Each band played music from 3 time periods. Would change costumes also. So much fun to listen and watch. Want to see again.

Not as good as it has been.

by RJA on 2/19/24Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

We’ve seen this show before. The Beatles group was pretty good, especially the Paul McCartney character. However, the Stones weren’t nearly as good as in the past. The old Mick Jagger character was amazing. The guy this time around wasn’t nearly as good at all!

    Beatles vs Stones

by Jenny on 2/19/24Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

It was a fun evening, though the balance on the music - particularly in the Beatles' first set - seemed off balance and rushed quite a lot.

Outstanding concept! Two of our all-time favorite groups.

by Rick Z. on 11/1/23McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

The singers & musicians were great. John Lennon and Mick Jagger look-alikes were outstanding in look, mannerisms and sound. Other than the show starting 45 minutes late, a very enjoyable evening. We loved the closing with both bands on stage together.

    Concert Review

by AlbanyKen on 4/24/23The Stanley - Utica

Venue was great, seats were close, enjoyed the show. We thought the Beatles were the better band that night. Wasn't really impressed with Mick.

Two great bands in one place!

by Mike L. on 4/24/23The Stanley - Utica

Interesting venue / concept! Beatles played an early set (think Ed Sullivan 1964) then Stones came on for early hits. This rotated with Beatles as Sergeant Pepper's then a "70's" Stones set. Finally came Abby Road then 80's - 90's Stones. It concluded with both bands on stage together going back and forth between hits like Hey Jude and No Satisfaction. 2 hrs. 45 minutes of great sounding (and accurate looking) memories from days gone by. It was a great night and highly recommended!

by AC on 4/24/23The Stanley - Utica

Stanley theater is gorgeous. Snacks and adult beverages available. Bands were very good. Talented musicians and entertaining personalities. Show was really enjoyable. Whitesboro High School String Quartet joined the groups for a few numbers. Awesome job but i wish they were where they could be seen and not so far back on the stage. Overall a very entertaining evening

    Great concert!

by Kathy B on 4/24/23The Stanley - Utica

The concert was great. Both groups did a fantastic job of representing the Beatles and Stones during the appropriate time periods, including costumes! The Stanley is a beautiful venue and the staff there was great. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for those with cell phones holding them up to record and take pictures and thus blocking my view. I wish cell phones would be banned from concerts. I understand that attendees mean it as a tribute to take pictures, but the band deserves their undivided attention as well as other attendees deserve to see the entire concert without being distracted.

    The battle analyzed!

    by F. C. on 3/15/23The Walker Theatre - Chattanooga

I took four of my grandchildren 16 to 7 years old. They were not familiar with the early 60's but the rest they thoroughly enjoyed. We were all singing and dancing away! My youngest grandchild said that the Rolling Stones won. He moves like Jagger! Their parents were jealous!
