  • all around great concert

    by wr2rewfad on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

The lineup was great - loved the rock/folk bands (mumford, avett, allman)

  • Mumford & Sons, MGMT, Flaming Lips OUTSTANDING!

    by illbill21 on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

The Beale St. Music Festival would hands down be something I recommend to any and all concert goers. It was such an amazing time, regardless if the weather wasn't always the best. I had an absolute blast and the performers did not disappoint. My favorites were Mumford & Sons (who I've been dying to see for quite some time now), MGMT, Flaming Lips and Ludacris. If I could do the entire weekend over, I wouldn't hesitate for a second.

  • Great event! a couple of suggestions...

    by Wolfie48 on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

Thanks for putting this event on each year and for keeping ticket prices low. A couple of things to consider for next year: 1. Would like to see more import beer selections with shorter waiting lines. 2. phone and text service was hampered at the event probably because of the high phone traffic. Maybe the cell phone companies companies could somehow help improve service during this event.

  • Stone Temple Pilots still got it!

    by BigPat1 on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

Drove over from Arkansas Friday afternoon mainly to catch Everclear and STP. I had seen Scott Weiland with Velvet Revolver and the rest of the guys with Talk Show, but none of that compares to STP. Scott can still sing great, seemed to have it together real well and the band was solid. Everclear was good. Had seen them before, they seemed a little rusty and Art was singing an octave lower, but we all get older. Mumford and Sons was the most crowded of the bands I saw. They were there Saturday night. Really enjoyed them and apparently their popularity is really rising. Egypt Central, louder does not mean better. I think they wanted the whole city to hear them. First band we saw since they were before Everclear. Couldn't hear myself think.

Great experience. This was my first time to Memphis in May, and I am so glad I went! The lineup was phenomenal, and for the most part it wasn't hard to get close to the artists I wanted to see (Ludacris and Ke$ha being the exceptions). The weather went downhill, and there were stage mixups and massive delays on the third day (I'm talking about an artist [Ziggy Marley] coming on stage an hour into his 70-minute time slot). But for the most part, I had an unforgettable experience. I'll definitely be checking the lineup every year from now on.

  • Stone Temple Pilots were AMAZING!!

    by jenrzhl2r on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

I have not been to Music Fest in years because it was not worth dealing with the crowds. I went this year and it was great! It was very crowded but everyone was having a good time. I have to hand it to the Memphis Police because they let people have fun but kept people safe:) I will take my 14 year old daughter next year.

  • All-around fantastic show

by HeartForMemphis on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

This in, IMO, the best value for you entertainment dollar in May. So many great acts in one place. Its very easy to get around the park and have an opportunity to listen to all the bands. Extremely good lineup Friday night with MGMT, Stone Temple Pilots, Everclear, Flaming Lips, Cake and others.

  • One negative.

    by ClarkKent2011 on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

The only negative is that there was SO much smoking... Cigarettes and Pott. If they were really worried about it they would have conducted better searches then they did.

  • Munford and Sons - too cool

    by 8820Lester on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great time. The line up was good and the rain held off for two of the three days. If you want to go to Beale street after the shows you should probably go early (that place was packed). We'll go again!!

  • not so great

    by stick3 on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 1 out of 5

This festival was unorganized and filthy. There was trash everywhere, over flowing. They did a great job of keeping the beer stocked, but they did not seem able to keep up with the trash. After hearing them brag that the festival was "green", I also saw sanitation workers pouring items from the recycling bins into trash bins. We waited over an hour for Amos Lee to play, while tornadoes headed straight toward us. Finally, when the tornado sirens began blaring, we ran for it. There was NO communication from anyone about what was going on. A simple, "We will start shortly" would have been nice. Rather, we all stood there not knowing when or if the show would begin. It was ridiculous and unsafe. Even if you aren't sure of a start time, at least communicate that. The score of each Grizzlies game was announced promptly, but no communication about delays or changes to the schedule. Ridiculous. It was also obvious that the crew of the event was not communicating with each other, either. We talked to anyone we could find to ask about schedule changes and no one knew anything. Some where even rude when we asked, as if we were bothering them. This is one of the worst run festivals that I have been to. I will not be returning in the future.

  • Amazing

Every walk of life at a venue with every genre of music....so worth the road trip. Loved it!

  • Great Show

by FulanoNadie on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great show in a really cool city. The food was amazing, the bands were great, and the atmosphere was really cool and laid back.

  • Beale Street Music Festival was AMAZING!

by Emaje on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

Aside from the tornado warning on Sunday, the concerts were amazing!! I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves music- one suggestion though is to bring rain boots.

  • MEMPHIS IN MAY

    by HANNAH12345 on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

Bands were great, however the fans were trashy. If you don't like pot, drunk creeps, and crowds this is not the place for you. Wear rainboots and be prepared to be surrounded by white trash smoking out of 3 foot bongs completely drunk by 4pm. The line up was really good, and the performances were superb.

  • Saving Abel & Hinder rocked!!!!!

  • First and Last BSMF

    by Survivor007 on 5/1/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 1 out of 5

The concept was good but the crowd was brutual. There need to be crowd control or something... Couldn't enjoy the show because people was pushing and shoving through the crowd.... Witnessed a fight for that very reason... Sadly disappointed.

  • Absolutely WORTH IT

    by LoriLoriLori925 on 5/1/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

The TICKETMASTER Prices were so so so worth it!!! We saw MGMT, The Flaming Lips, and Stone Temple Pilots on Friday Night. Three of the best shows iIve ever seen. They were all fantastic, the crowds were great, the sets were about an hour each! I absolutely cannot explain how incredible the shows were, I will upload some pictures in this review. The second night, we saw Mumford and Sons, Ludacris and Kesha, Mumford was great too, but the crowds at Ludacris and Kesha were slightly different, kinda rude =( Did not go Sunday
