I go here every year and this year was the best so far with the lineup. Sunday was a little unorganized but there was crazy weather and it all worked out!
Mumford and Sons were awesome, but the other acts were just alright. The sound was okay. I would recommend screens on either side of the stage to see the performers better. Still glad I went though.
Charlie Wilson as usual put on an enjoyable concert. However, I would not attend the Beale Street Music Festival again. Too many people and they should provide places to sit........just a mess.
Another year and another great festival. You can't be the scene here.
Mumford and Sons were by far the best performance there. The weather turned out nice, and we had a great time.
It was awesome. There were so many people and the bands there were perfect. This was my first time at a huge music festival and it blew me out of the water! Definitely will be returning.
Memphis in may was Awesome and if you have never been you should go! Research to know what you want to do cause there are a lot of people and a lot to do!
This was our first trip to the festival and felt like the stages should of been higher so that everyone can see. The weather was better than expected.
My third trip to the event in last seven years. Also my most disappointing. The lineup this year had a more yourthful audience in mind and I felt it was missing more of the bigger names in the business that have appeared in the past years. Weather was again a factor and our group of six flew out Sunday to avoid delays and mud. Call me old, call me whatever you want, but call me disappointed for the first time with the event.
Had a great 3 day weekend. Didn't get to attend on Sunday due to weather - feel as though more action and preparedness should be done for severe weather. Really sad I missed Avett brothers. Drinks were resonable. Food a little over priced though.
2011 first timer - best time I've had with my clothes on in a really long time. FedEx Blues tent was a great venue. Drove from Tulsa to see Wilco & the Lips but was really pleasantly surprised with Big Bill Morganfield, Devon Allman & Will Tucker. Great crowds, great vibe even when the tornado sirens were blaring Sunday afternoon. Only suggestion for improvement would be to stagger the start times of the shows a little more - had to make some tough choices on what to see/hear.
Music Fest was great this year! The concerts were definitely worth the price. And for the first time, it didn't rain cats and dogs... :)
My Beale Street Music Festival experience this year was incredible! This is the first year of my last 6 that the weather was good. I spent the whole night at the Horseshoe Casino stage, and there wasn't a dull moment. Manchester Orchestra, whom I knew very little about, came out with a high energy and amazing music that set the stage perfectly for the following acts. Cage the Elephant killed! Schultz ran around the stage like a mad man, stage diving and crowd surfing while delivering his unique vocal stylings. MGMT was the disappointment of the night. The music quality was good, but the show consisted mainly of the band just standing around without much energy. This was starkly contrasted by the amazingness that was The Flaming Lips. Confetti cannons, dancing Wizard of Oz characters, a giant light screen from which the band emerged, and general craziness characterized the show. Wayne's incredible stage presence was a thrill to watch, and a thrilling version of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1 on which the entire crowd sang was my highlight of the night. Always an awesome time down on the river.
The Beale Street Music Festival is a must for anyone!! The price of the tickets doesn't compare to the amount to talented artist you get to see!!!
Outstanding performances by a large variety of musicians! We all had the time of our lives & would say that Mumford & Sons were the highlight of the day! Hope to return for years to come!
I had a great time - it was overcast and did rain for a second but nothing too bad. I was most impressed with the price of beer. 16 ounces for $4. Might sound dumb but usually at places like this, alcohol is outrageous. The little 16 year olds were annoying but nothing you can do about that! Great time, great lineup, lots of fun.
This was our first time going to this event. We will be going every year from now on...
AMAZING!!! THIS WAS MY FIRST YEAR AND I PLAN ON MAKING THIS AN ANNUAL TRIP!!!
We had a lot of fun. The rain held off but we were prepared with our kicking rainboots!
