This was my first year of Memphis in May and I loved it! There's so much to see in such little time and it is exhausting but its definetly worth every penny!

  • DO NOT PLAN TO BRING STROLLER

by Floggy on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 1 out of 5

My husband and I pre-paid for our tickets for this event. We were so thrilled to see all the artist. I paid over 100.00 for these tickets. We drove from Nashville to see this festival and as we were walking in they turned us away. No one told us that we would not allowed to bring our childs stroller. I think that is extremely stupid. They need to post up something on the website so that people who are purchasing online know prior. I will never try to attend this event again. Everyone should be able to enjoy the concerts with or without children. The fact that we drove over 3 hours to attend makes me very angry. I lost out on the price of my tickets and the gas to get there... Plus the price of parking being 15.00. I would not recommend this event to anyone with children. It should be open to all people.

  • Memphis In The Storm

by MemphisAngel on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 2 out of 5

Memphis in May, is one the highlights of Memphis.. However, when are the people who plan these events, ever gonna consider putting in temporary bleachers, A tent where people can enjoy a meal? The whole time there I never saw a member of Medical Services.( ambulance) Police officers texting, And making cracks about women. The Officals can make a decision, to move the BBQ Festival to " Tiger Lane" Why, didnt they move the Music? My Gosh, people we had Tornado Warnings and Flood Watches, And lighting was a major issue. Did these people issue evacuations? Are we more worried, about the money.. are the safety of patrons? Why arent these venues moved to shelby farms, the agricenter.. The cost of these events are ridiculous..for what? Where is the police, medical..And $20.00 to park. Which Memphis offical is getting a raise? Where is the money going? Get your heads together, and have a back up plan...

I did NOT like the will call AT ALL. I will never by tickets in advance again because I still had to wait in a long line with the general admission people that were purchasing there tickets and had to show the credit card I used to pay for it and Id. I do not carry that card with me it is my husbands. All will call had to be put to the side and wait for them to process while others just bought theirs and left. The event was what I expected but ticket master y'all need to get it together!!!

  • killer time

    by nybri13 on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

Great mix of different bands. Wish there were some more headliners I had heard of, but it exposes you to new music. People are very friendly and great beer prices - $5 for 16oz imported tap beer. Go to the blues tent - you won't be disappointed. If there is any rain in the forecast, bring boots!!!!

  • great venue!!

  • Who or what exceeded my expectations by far? KE$HA

by CulturedMisses on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

My first year attending Memphis in May...and the weather wasn't very nice to me and my guests. However, I must say it was fairly stable throughout most of my favorite performances (Ludacris, 8Ball/MJG, and Ke$ha). I think there needs to be some changes for how re-entry is set up. It's difficult for me to say I enjoyed waiting in line all over again with the floods of people who were just arriving for the 6p and beyond shows (being that I had previously entered at 2p). Ke$ha's set was actually quite impressive...she gained a new supporter!

I loved the fact that I got to watch all of my favorite bands in one place.

  • Memphis in May music festival

by Vanceleigh on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

Good price, very safe. Walking distance from Biel street. $4 16oz bears a plus. You've gotta check it out.

  • Avett Brothers a class act!

by fanfromjackson on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

The Avett Brothers are both talented and classy! They had a lot of energy and you could tell they are all about the music. They repeatedly thanked the festival for having them and the crowd for being so receptive. I hope they come every year, they were awesome!

  • Awesome!!!!!

by maryyyyyyyyy on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing! I'm going to have to start going every year! There were tons of people, though. I'm glad I wore my rain boots.

  • Fantastic Hospitality

by TaintLicker on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

I would have liked to see more rock during the event, even though Ludacris rocked the park!

  • More f bombs from the stage and less intellegence

by Frankinbeans on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 3 out of 5

Surely our culture hasn't degraded to the level that all we can do is grunt, scratch our crotches and scream f--- you 25 times in a set. Talent has been replaced by, not vulgarity, but ignorant, ineffective useless vulgarity. Sick Puppies should see a vet.

  • Disaster Zone

    by No1girl2u on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 1 out of 5

This event should have been more organized with the amount of people present! There were alot of "kids" getting drunk and causing disturbances. People were pushing and damn near knocking others over. I couldn't see any of the performers and ended up leaving way before it was over because it was so uncomfortbale and unruly! I will NEVER attend anything like this again! Was NOT worth $30! It should have been $10 for a cover charge! The absolute worst concert experience to date! The only good thing was that the weather was awesome!

  • A TOTAL EXPERIENCE

    by CHYNADOLL314 on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

2011 BSMF was absolutely amazing! I truly enjoyed the diversity of the artists/ genres of music that was presented this year. This year has me hooked. I will return each year.

  • Blues Tent

by Ciciblues on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

Fedex Blues Tent was the bomb! Big Bill Morganfield, Tommy Castro, Jimmie Vaughan, Magic Slim will see again somewhere. Jerry lee Lewis still got it. Macy Gray and B.O.B. Were fantastic. Luda and Kesha crowd so big could not see one thing.

  • Loved Greg Allman, Tommy Castro, Avett Brothers

    by 3pause on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

Was there last year, came back again this year, may be back next year.

  • by Anonymous on 5/2/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

This concert was one of the highlights of my spring. I expected more rain and mud, but I guess we got lucky this year! I would have loved it regardless. I will definitely be making the trip back to Memphis for this festival in the future!
