  • First-- but not last-- Beale St Music Festival

by SarahjIndiana on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing weekend!! Sure, there's mud. Sure, there's the almost flooding river and tornado warnings, too. But nothing could stop the great music on all the stages! It was easy to move between stages if you wanted to see multiple bands and the sets were long enough it was possible. Fave show was Avett Brothers but Mumford & Sons, MGMT, STP, the Flaming Lips, Ke$ha, Gregg Allman, Ludaris and B.O.B. were outstanding too! (Not to mention the Blues Tent! I never knew who was playing but we'd stop in 3-4 times a day and always a great show).

the music was great, good crowd, plenty of restrooms. It was very muddy and a lot of the people there were not people i would normally hang out with, a rather tough crowd.

I got there when the gates opened. The weather was nice. Amos lee was suppose to play at 2:05, but he didn't. It didn't start raining until about 3:30, he could have done his whole set. I stayed until 4:00 and left because none of the bands were playing. The tickets said rain or shine, if so why didn't the bands play. Probably won't be back.

We had a great time. It storms every year so we only got to see two bands but it was still well worth it! Can't wait until next year!

  • An awesome weekend full of great music!

From the first band to the last, this show did not disappoint. There was some extreme weather that blew through, but it did not put a damper on the fun!

I loved the Beale Street Music Festival! I had moved away from Memphis so I had not been in 20 years! I took my 16 year old son, and he absolutely was amazed at all of the bands that he was able to see in 2 days! I must say Memphis is May is better than ever!

  • Music Fest in Memphis

by Shadedshadow on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

Saturday's line up wasn't the greatest but the bands there were awesome! & the crowd was wonderful! Plus being able to leave & hang out on Beal Street any time made the entire expierence wonderful. I recommend that everyone go at least once in their lifetime for the experience of it.

  • Memphis in May!!! My favorite time of the year!

by ChrstopherM on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

It's a great time. The city of Memphis, the people of Memphis deserve a standing ovation. I'm already looking forward to next year. Thank you Memphis! Everclear, Stone Temple Pilots, Macy Gray , John Mellencamp, Buckcherry, Saving Able,Godsmack, & Ziggy Marley.

  • Loved Mumford & Sons!

by daturkey on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 3 out of 5

The performances were great. What an amazing experience to see SO many big name artists all in one venue. The crowd, however, was nearly unbearable, especially Saturday night when at maximum capacity. We ended up leaving after being shoved in the mud and stepped on one too many times. This venue should have a smaller maximum capacity, or the concerts should be moved somewhere different. I was also disappointed at the dirtiness of the location. Trash everywhere! Disrespectful crowd who threw crap straight on the ground without even looking around for a trash can. Once again, the performers were amazing, especially Mumford & Sons.

Portapotties ran out of toilet paper and no one replaced it.

  • So many bands!!

by HelloEyeAmKristi on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

This concert is enjoyable even if you're under 21 (way better if you're older because Beale Street is like three blocks away for when the bands stop playing) Don't forget to wear comfortable rainboots as the mud there was about 3 inches deep in the grassy areas. I also suggest to go to a local dollar tree and buying their cheap glow sticks and popping them right before you get in so you don't have to pay oodles of money on theirs. Overall, this is by far the most fun I've ever had at a concert and I highly suggest you go and bring anyone else you can (help split hotel costs/gas haha)

  • Great Event!

by jeelsie on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to BSMF several times and this was by far the best line-up yet (and best weather!!). The only complaint I would have is the timing of the shows. There were several bands that I missed due to scheduling conflicts with other bands I wanted to see and there were also several times where there wasn't really a band I wanted to see. Friday night was stacked with great shows (too many at once) while Saturday was much weaker leading to over crowding at Mumford and Sons.

  • Buckcherry kicked ass

    by kmae24 on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

Buckcherry rocked it! As well as Sick Puppies. The most frustrating part was the sound at the Bud light stage kept going out. I felt bad for Godsmack cause it kept happening and was hard to enjoy them with that going on.

great weekend with great music and great friends!!!

  • B.o.B and 8Ball MGT were amazing!

by SharCoburn on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

The overall 3 day event was outstanding. the line up was increditable. These two band stood out, their on stage performances were unmatrched. The event was well organized and facilitaed. The only thing was the line up needed to more spread out. the best bands seemed to overlap...

  • Great Music Great prices

by TaliaChi on 5/3/11Tom Lee Park - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great experience. Easy to get in and park around the venue. Great food and drink prices. I will be back next year.
