BASTILLE IN CONCERT:
Fans lucky enough to catch Bastille on their 2013/14 world tour can count their lucky stars —as one of the fastest rising groups in British music, the band's days of performing in smaller venues are certainly numbered. Boasting good looks and a winning blend of indie rock, hip hop, and synthpop, the four chaps from London have a knack for connecting with audiences at their carousing live concerts, entering the crowd to mingle with adoring fans and pose for the occasional mid-set photo op. With a string of highly anticipated US tour dates and a Coachella appearance in 2014, Bastille are well on their way to storming the American mainstream.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Bastille formed around the solo project of singer-songwriter Dan Smith, who shares his birthday with France's historic Bastille Day. The band's 2010 debut single "Flaws" was an underground hit, leading to a 2012 deal with Virgin records that resulted in the band's 2013 debut LP Bad Blood. The album peaked at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned six singles, including the international No. 1 "Pompeii." A reissue and remix version of the album in late 2013 drummed up anticipation for the band's 2014 world tour.

The band itself sounded good - but you couldn't understand a thing anyone said all night! Everything was terribly muddled and for the ticket price paid - I deserved a lot better. I love concerts, and go to a LOT, but I'm very doubtful that I'll ever see another show at the Masonic Auditorium. Figure your stuff out, people!!

Bastille put on quite the performance! I came into the concert as a casual listener of their music, but now I can say I am a legitimate fan of the band and the music they create.

Their songs already have soul and backbone, put that together with group of guys having a great time on stage, and are transported to your buddies garage band jam session. Relaxed and energetic. I look forward to catching them again.

Besides the fact that it turned into a mosh pit and I almost lost my life along with my backpack and flip flops, I'd say it was a pretty good time.

The harmonies were tremendous and everyone performing seemed so excited to be on stage and it showed in the energy they put into their performance.

Well Bastille was not in the least disappointing. Very very talented musicians, fantastic performance. It was great. The opening act was also very good, which was a delight to hear.

They were incredibly energizing and sounded perfect. I don't love the lead singers vocals from live shows I've sen on tv but the sound at the national was perfect. Just the perfect blend of vocals and instruments. Would love to see them again in a small venue again. Was really surprised when he walked up to the balcony. That was very cool.
