BASTILLE IN CONCERT:

Fans lucky enough to catch Bastille on their 2013/14 world tour can count their lucky stars —as one of the fastest rising groups in British music, the band's days of performing in smaller venues are certainly numbered. Boasting good looks and a winning blend of indie rock, hip hop, and synthpop, the four chaps from London have a knack for connecting with audiences at their carousing live concerts, entering the crowd to mingle with adoring fans and pose for the occasional mid-set photo op. With a string of highly anticipated US tour dates and a Coachella appearance in 2014, Bastille are well on their way to storming the American mainstream.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bastille formed around the solo project of singer-songwriter Dan Smith, who shares his birthday with France's historic Bastille Day. The band's 2010 debut single "Flaws" was an underground hit, leading to a 2012 deal with Virgin records that resulted in the band's 2013 debut LP Bad Blood. The album peaked at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned six singles, including the international No. 1 "Pompeii." A reissue and remix version of the album in late 2013 drummed up anticipation for the band's 2014 world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The energy was incredible and the crowd and venue great. Dan came out into the crowd during his signature Flaws performance which was truly an experience."

"Bastille is amazing live! Dan is a true talent and mastermind! Kyle killed it on keyboard, Woody was awesome on drums, and Will rocked on the bass."

"The whole band rocked the house and performed all of their best songs off of their album Bad Blood in front of a sold out crowd who was jamming and singing along."

  • a cathartic experience

    by bastille_emily on 6/14/22Roxian Theatre - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a fan of Bastille for 9 years. Every time I see them live I fall in love all over again. This show was my 5th time seeing them live. It was pure perfection. Their energy and stage presence is unmatched in my opinion. The whole show is just so much fun and you can really see how much passion and effort the band and crew put into making it a special experience. It is more than just a concert. 10/10 recommend seeing Bastille live if you get the opportunity. They're even better live than in their recordings!!!

  • Hands down the best show ever!!

This was easily the best show I have ever been to! The energy from Bastille was top notch, and they sounded amazing! There’s not a show that I won’t go to if they tour near me again!

I have been to a lot of shows in my life, and my favorite ones are those where you feel like a special moment is being created. The Energy from the crowd, the driving music, and the soaring music make you feel like a special moment is happening with Bastille. I have had the chance to see them a few times, and every show feels special. I will continue to see them every time they come through seattle.

  • AMAZING and WONDERFUL Experience

by Mars on 6/9/22The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

One of my favorite concerts of all time! The anthem staff worked quickly and efficiently during ticket check and also in the merch line. The show was INCREDIBLE with first Josh Fudge the opener and then Bastille's amazing concert with visuals and this really immersive experience into each song! I also loved the music playing in between the opener and set up for Bastille as it gave us some background music before the main show. I had one of the best nights and it was amazing. Also i was able to leave quickly and get to my car realitively fast. Thank you for the wonderful experience to both Anthem staff, Josh Fudge and Bastille 💖

  • Perfect

by Aliceann on 6/8/22The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Thanks to the band for a perfect VIP event. I enjoyed this immensely! Concert, perfect as always. The staff at Anthem - OUTSTANDING!!! Since I purchased my ticket, I had an injury, which would not allow me to stand for the entire concert. The Anthem ADA staff, took me to a seat near the sound board to sit, no extra charge. Plus they ensured our safety, as we moved around during the concert. Thank you Anthem!

  • Overall fun

by Chris on 6/8/22The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was ok, it was at the Anthem in DC, we had standing only - that was not clear to me when I purchased- it only said general admission and had a seat number! The group Bastille was decent, they had some good songs but their “idea” and message was a downer all around and definitely trying to engraving their message into us. That I didn’t like.

  • Simply the Best!

by Auixerre on 6/8/22The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I was very impressed with the production qualitly as well as the seating and other amenities of The Anthem. My only critque would have been better signage regarding where the line actually started since it didn't quite match up with the FAQ on the website. Bastille delivered and I like their new members and where they're going with their sound. I can't wait to see them again.

  • Always amazing

  • Magical ✨

by Michelle on 6/8/22The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Getting into The Anthem was a breeze because there were two fast-moving lines to check IDs and get bracelets! Security was easy and quick, and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The bathrooms and bars were clearly labeled and easy to get to; the bars were well-staffed with quick service. The concert was absolutely magical!! Josh Fudge opened with some bops that got the crowd hyped. Bastille blew our minds with insane graphics and an incredible set list of crowd favorites and deep, personal songs. The lights enhanced the experience. One of the best moments was when Dan Smith (frontman of Bastille) entered the crowd, dancing and singing with the crowd as we all adored him. Hands down one of the best concerts I've ever been to!

  • Literally incredible

  • Great show!

by mddolfan on 6/8/22The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Love the anthem; love Bastille. What else can I say?

  • Was the sound off?

by Kyle on 6/8/22The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

The acoustics or audio equipment/levels seemed off. This not only made the music sub-optimal but also made it extremely hard to understand the artist when he was speaking.

  • Excellent Live Show

VIP experience was a little disorganized but the gents in Bastille put on an amazing show. The venue is intimate and cozy with great acoustics. The touring and venue crews did a great job. Overall the show was amazing and I look forward to seeing Bastille again soon.
