BASTILLE IN CONCERT:

Fans lucky enough to catch Bastille on their 2013/14 world tour can count their lucky stars —as one of the fastest rising groups in British music, the band's days of performing in smaller venues are certainly numbered. Boasting good looks and a winning blend of indie rock, hip hop, and synthpop, the four chaps from London have a knack for connecting with audiences at their carousing live concerts, entering the crowd to mingle with adoring fans and pose for the occasional mid-set photo op. With a string of highly anticipated US tour dates and a Coachella appearance in 2014, Bastille are well on their way to storming the American mainstream.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bastille formed around the solo project of singer-songwriter Dan Smith, who shares his birthday with France's historic Bastille Day. The band's 2010 debut single "Flaws" was an underground hit, leading to a 2012 deal with Virgin records that resulted in the band's 2013 debut LP Bad Blood. The album peaked at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned six singles, including the international No. 1 "Pompeii." A reissue and remix version of the album in late 2013 drummed up anticipation for the band's 2014 world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The energy was incredible and the crowd and venue great. Dan came out into the crowd during his signature Flaws performance which was truly an experience."

"Bastille is amazing live! Dan is a true talent and mastermind! Kyle killed it on keyboard, Woody was awesome on drums, and Will rocked on the bass."

"The whole band rocked the house and performed all of their best songs off of their album Bad Blood in front of a sold out crowd who was jamming and singing along."

  • Excellent Venue with Great Band

by AP on 9/20/23GLC Live at 20 Monroe - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

The venue at GLC 20 is always amazing. Bastille wasn't officially touring so it was great to just hear them be creative. Great experience, Bastille engaged and created a once in a lifetime experience. They even let a fan drum the song Pompeii and the fan knocked it out of the park!!

  • Bastille always delivers

Bastille playing their whole debut album live was incredible! They always sound great live and this show did not disappoint.

A phenomenal experience from soundcheck through the end!

These guys put on a great show. The audience was engaged and the energy was off the charts. I will definitely see them again.

  • Bastille never disappoints!

by KimiK on 8/28/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Bastille brings it every time! From the second they stepped on stage, the played their hearts out and the crowd was INTO it. Dan’s regular walk through the crowd during Flaws is always on point. Great show, great venue, great crowd.

  • Great live show

    by reflex1g on 8/28/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Some bands you hear live don't sound like there albums but Bastille was just as good if not better than their albums sound!

  • Bastille live is EVERYTHING

by Whitney on 8/28/23Rating: 5 out of 5

We'd never been to the Wiltern before, as we live 3 hours away and don't drive in to the heart of LA if we can help it. But when we saw Bastille was doing their only BBX show there, we knew we had to go. SO SO SO glad we did! This was our fourth Bastille show, and I swear it was the best. The entire audience was completely into it, singing along with every single song, and the band gave that love and energy right back. Bastille left it all on the stage, and we walked out feeling absolutely elated. One of the best shows we've ever seen. THANK YOU!

  • lifechanging, transcending, beautiful

by karlygiirl on 6/20/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

I love Bastille so much because they are, for such a global superstar group, some of the kindest artists I have ever met. The quality of the show was astounding, any sound issues didn't carry over into the audience, and despite the professional persona, Dan has phenomenal stage presence, accepted crowd gifts, pride flags, and came down into the crowd TWICE. The rest of the band is just as amazing, waving, chatting, and of course, performing their hearts out. 11/10 would recommend.

  • BAD BLOOD X

    by J. L. on 6/20/23Rating: 5 out of 5

So glad I saw them at a small venue like filmore. Great band and they sound so good live. So happy I finally got to see them, highly recommend!

  • Incredible Experience

by Sam on 6/19/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Bastille does a fantastic job every time they perform. The lead singer controls the stage well, and even at times will leave it to walk through the crowd and engage everyone in the crowd he can. They sound amazing, and play a great mix of their songs. The venue in Charlotte was large enough for a fun crowd, but intimate enough for die-hard fans like me to still secure a great spot. AWESOME!

  • Bastille always deliver

by JP on 6/18/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Bastille 4 times now and they never disappoint. They are one of the few bands that sound better live.

  • Great performance bad audio

by What happened on 6/17/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 2 out of 5

The performance was awesome but the audio was horrible. We were off to the stage left side and could barely hear the singing. Through out the show you could also see the band frustrated with the audio. Sad when you only get one chance to see a band and the audio isn’t great.

  • Best concert!

by MrsSkellington on 6/17/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

This was our 2nd time seeing Bastille and let me tell you they did not disappoint!!!! The energy was so high! They put on an amazing show!

  • Mid

    by gpjordan26 on 6/17/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

bastille is my favorite band and i had so much fun seeing them but i bought crash the barricade tickets and they gave no details on what do or instructions, when we got there we got into a big line and then they said there was no line while we waited outside the venue for an hour waiting to get in then everyone rushed in and it was very un-organized and everyone yelled at us and it was bad, if you didn’t stand up front then you we’re screwed bc in the back, there’s so much stuff blocking the stage. overall, it’s very small and the staff doesn’t care about you

  • Awesome show!

by Tammy on 6/17/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

Performance was stellar. ADA seating was challenging, though: brightly lit bar was distracting during the show, tons of traffic, of course, and some poles blocking our view.

  • Excellent vibe

by Kimi Kai on 6/17/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was a birthday gift, and I had not heard of Bastille. I was blown away, the energy, and vibe, was infectious. I will probably see them every time they are in town moving forward!

  • Absolutely amazing

by Brandi on 6/17/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Getting to be on the barricade and front and center for Bastille was absolutely amazing!! During both crowd walk songs Dan got on the barrier right next to me for the first one and directly in front of me in the second one. We got to meet the band afterwards and got pictures taken with the boys. It was amazing!!

  • Amazing show, as always!

    by 3gfam on 6/17/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Let's be clear here - Bastille aren't Kiss, or Gwar, or any other band that's known for their ENORMOUS productions in a show. They're a fantastic group, with fantastic music, but they just aren't at that scale, nor (hopefully) should you expect them to be. Now - that said, they put on an absolutely amazing show, ESPECIALLY at smaller venues, like the Fillmore in Charlotte. Their large-venue shows are very, very good, but you can tell that they have the most fun at their small-venue shows. The energy they emit, the intimacy, the level of personal interaction with the crowd, it's all on a completely different level. They are absolutely one of the best groups I've had the pleasure to see in ages, and you can tell that they genuinely enjoy what they do, and that they are really humbled by their interactions with fans. If you like their music, you should definitely go see them! They do not disappoint.

  • One the best shows in my life

by Moronao on 6/17/23The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Small place. I fell personally connected with the band. Dan Smith came and sing in the middle the crowd. He is awesome. Was a great experience
