    Barry was awesome

by Anonymous on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

The show put on by Barry Manilow was awesome. He sang every one of his hits and exhibited an energy on stage that was amazing. My friend and I are going to save our money to go out to Las Vegas and see him, he was that good!

Barry Manilow is still amazing after all these yea

by SJKB on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

It has been 30 years since I last saw Barry Manilow. I was as excited and thrilled as I was 30 years ago. He is amazing and the orchestra was phenominal. The show was the highlight of my summer. I may just have to go to Vegas to see him again!

    Disappointed

by Anonymous on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Show was short. Acoustics were poor in the towards the back. Seats were directly across from stage but the view was obstructed by a video camera on a tripod. Have seen Barry several times....this was probably the last.

    Manilow was fabulous

by Anonymous on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Barry was back at it on the East Coast--he was wonderful. I don't know if I would go back to Boardwalk Hall--his theater at the Paris in Las Vegas had much better sound quality. But he is truly a wonderful entertainer. The New York Pops were wonderful, too!

    wanting more

by jannielee on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Barry Manilow is still the consummate showman. His voice is strong and his energy amazing. He sang most of the hits and more. He still sounds the same and he looks great. It was more than a concert with the great NY Pops playing as backup. The only downside was the length of the show. After just slightly over an hour he was saying good-bye. He of course sang more supposedly as encores which stretched it another 20 minutes. Still total under an hour and a half. Left wanting more Barry.( especially for the price) ( also getting into Boardwalk Hall was a nightmare Only a few gates open and long, long, crowded lines to get to the auditorium. Not a problem the last time I went there to see James Taylor but I'll never go there again)

    Extraordinary talent

by ollieoop on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Barry Manilow was as always the exceptionally talented performer. He not only sang but also made it fun. The downside was it was at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City where the ecustics were horrible. A few times you heard a voice over. I was also surprised at the seats for the price paid. Most people sitting nearby were very dissapointed in the venue., we couldn't see him on stage New York Pops were wonderful!

He was excellent - his voice hasn't changed over the years. He looks terrific. He came back out three times to the applause and entertained us more. A great show.

    Barry's still got it!

by Shopper2 on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

I thought the show was really good. I couldn't believe that his voice still sounded that good. The only complaint I have is that the sound system was off. Unfortunately, he was being drowned out by the orchestra. The only time you could hear him really well was when he was playing the piano and singing without the orchestra....then he sounded great. If it wasn't for the sound system problem I would definitely give the show itself 5 stars. If I was going to Vegas, I would definitly see him again.

I was disappointed in the show!

by PoorPatty on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

I am a die hard Barry fan and have seen him several times before, beginning way back when he started out and I have to say I was disappointed. I know he is older now, but he is no longer the showman that he once was. I expected more than 1 hour, 20 minutes for the price I paid for that ticket. The orchestra was way too loud on some of the songs and I could hardly hear him singing. I'm sorry if his age is catching up with him, but if that is the case, he should stop doing live performances. His fans expect, and deserve, more.

    Very entertaining evening

by jdehaan on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

This was an excellent evening of old Manilow standards backed by the outstanding New York Pops. The opening act was a huge disappointment. But once Barry took the stage at 9:00 we had a great time. It would have been nice to hear some music from the Pops while Barry rested, but lets face it, we were there to hear him. The 4 encore's were great and appreciated by everyone who did not rush out to beat the traffic home. I am looking forward to seeing his show at the Paris in Vegas sometime soon.

Good show, acoustics less than great.

by FrankR678 on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Barry Manilow puts on a great show with a very strong finish. He doesn't show his age at all and appears 30 years younger than he is (at least from our distant seats). This is the second time I have been to Boardwalk Hall for a musical event. Some events are so loud that earplugs are needed. Not so with Barry's show. The sound level was perfect, but the sound quality was quite tinny. It showed in his vocals and even more so with the piano. My other complaint with Boardwalk Hall (aside from many seats being sideways) is that the video screens focus only on the star and much of the activity on stage is missing. The screens should be larger and brighter.

Barry Manilow with the New York POPS

by StephanieTwins on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

The show was absolutely wonderful! I wanted to see Barry Manilow for my 40th Birthday in Vegas, but we could not get there this year. So, when we found out he was coming to Atlantic City for one performance, I knew we could not miss it! We traveled from Baltimore and were treated to an all-star performance. I am so thrilled that I got to see this not-to-be-missed concert event!

    Barry at his best

by Vaterjack on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Barry might be getting older, but his shows just get better. The new York pops just adds to the sound and makes him sound better than ever. It was fun to hear a couple of songs we don't hear often from him and having "Straight, no chaser" was a beautiful breath of fresh air.

    Barry Manilow did not dissapoint

by HKPH on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

What a great man...what a great show! After loving Barry Manilow for many years, it was great to see him in concert. He sings effortlessly and has a great stage presence. Real lively and chatty. He sings live just like you're used to hearing him, every note on key. It was very exciting to see him in person and I can't wait to get the opportunity to do so again.

    Amazing Manilow!

by KHSMasterP on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

This guy is such a class act.! His songs and his endearing soul made this a very moving experience. I found the Pops to be excellent but Barry was overpowered at times and the words difficult to hear. Because his songs tell a beautiful story that was a little disappointing. Better balance needed when they played together. The ballads like I Am Your Child and One voice were unbelievable. Engaging the audience to sing was sooo great! Loved it!!!!!
