    Barry is Amazing!

by Joan295 on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

This was a great show. The Boardwalk Hall does a wonderful job handling such a large crowd. The opening act was very enjoyable but the star of the evening is Barry Manilow. This is the fourth time I have seen him in concert and can't wait until his next one. His voice is better than ever and he is so appealing that you just can't help loving him. He puts on a terrific show mixing his hits and new songs. I was a little disappointed that he didn't do a number from his new CD which I have almost worn out. You can tell he loves performing because he keeps coming back at the end of the show for one more time. I would give this show ten stars if you had them.

    Barry - always the showman!

by Pattipas on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

This is the third time my sister and I have seen Barry in the last 5 years and he is always great. Our seats on the other hand were not so good. First level, row two, but set up in such a way that everyone was leaning forward to see Barry and the view was just not good. Too long of a wait in line to get into the show also because the doors didn't open until 10 minutes before the warm up act started with only two ticket takers at each section. So, highly recommend Barry - not so highly recommending the Boardwalk Hall seating and entrance/exit set up.

    Still got it

by Blackcld on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

A great entertainer. Up front, human and kind. The power of his siongs and lyrics survive. The accoustics at the staart was shaky, but they fianlly got it right.

There is just something about a Barry Manilow concert! It's uplifting, nostalgic, and entertaining--a feel good sing-a-long.

    Barry Manilow

by Coolrand on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

His show was great and I would like him to come to Atlantic City again next year. You could tell the audience love the show and wanted him to sing more songs even though he performed for one and a half hours. Years ago he wrote a song while he was appearing in Atlantic City, about ships passing through the night. I was hoping he would sing it but he didn't. Amazing show.

    Barry is still the man!

by Sassydevil826 on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

I have to say that I am an ultimate fanilow but Barry was not ontop of his game this past Saturday in AC...when he spoke he sounded a little drunk, but who said he really had to talk I love his singing and always will, and I was disappointed when he only played for 1 hour and 20 minutes for all of the money I spent. I still love you Barry.

    Excellent showman!

by Suzyj on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

The Boardwalk hall was amazing. The NY Pops were terrific. The only criticizm I would have is that they tended to drown out Barry. The opening act was soooo funny!!

    Manilow Himself: SUPERB!

by SouthPhillyGuy on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Barry Manilow at 67 still has the voice and the showmanship you would like to see and hear. He performed for about 85 minutes, a bit short I think. However, every minute was solid -- with no pauses. He sand the songs you would expect (Even Now, Mandy, I Write the Songs, etc.) But NOT At the Copa. I dunno why. I would have liked to have a memory refresher on all the jingles he has written. He did do the Bandstand Theme, tho. That was the only one. The venue itself left a few things to be desired. Boardwalk Hall is a very large place with only fair acoustics. The people in our section were antsy (people getting up and down throughout his performance for food and so on, a major distraction). I was not happy with the crowd overall.

Manilow did an amazing job! You wouldn't know it's been 30+ years since most of these songs were released. FANTASTIC CONCERT!!!

    What A Disappointment!

by Jonm40 on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

I love Barry Manilow and my husband surprised me with tickets to his show at Boardwalk Hall as a birthday present. I was particularly excited because my mother and father saw Barry's show at the Hilton in Las Vegas--they said it was great and that they enjoyed it more than Celine Dion's show. My husband and I, together with my brother-in-law, his girlfriend, and our 13 year old son were seated on the floor in section 7. As soon as the show started, my heart sunk. The acoustics were terrible. You could not hear what Barry said when talking or singing--same goes for his opening act. When Barry played the piano, the keys sounded like tin. It was actually painful. People were commenting about the same problems when leaving the show. The folks in my group were very disappointed. There is no other word for the show except "horrible." Although my husband and I saw Bette Midler at the Boardwalk Hall a few years ago and thought her show was wonderful, I would never again risk purchasing a ticket for a show at that venue.

Couldn't wait to hear Barry Manilow in concert....

by tennisbum143 on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

It is such a shame, as I couldn't wait to hear Barry Manilow in concert... but the New York Pops over powered him... or was it the sound technicians doing a poor job??? I don't know, but those songs he sung when playing the piano (without the pops) were FANTASTIC!

    That ONE VOICE is AWESOME!!!

by HampsteadDebbie on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

It was a truly amazing experience! His singing never let me down! Everyone around me (including myself) was singing their hearts out to all the great songs he made famous over the years! The song brought back wonderful memories, some forgotten, and made me realize just how much of an impact he had on my life growing up. I will remember this evening forever!

    Barry was amazing as always.

by StefanieNJ on 8/16/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Barry rocked the house. I wouldn't have expected anything other than an amazing show from a truly amazing artist. The venue was nice and our seats were awesome. I just wish that they would have handled admission better. It was complete and utter chaos. I quickly forgot about that when the show started though. I will be on a Manilow high for a while. And I would go to see him at this venue again, I just hope they will come up with a better way of handling a crowd.

    Barry seemed tired/sick/depressed

by Gibbygirl on 8/15/10Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

I saw Barry Manilow in concerts (twice) back in the 80's when he was at his peak, turning out non-stop top hits. Some 25+ years later, he still looks the same, his voice is still amazing and he can still sing all those old hit songs the same way he did when he first recorded them. Barry is such a talented and gifted songwriter/singer/entertainer! Last night in Atlantic City, NJ, from the moment he came out on the stage, Barry seemed subdued, tired, possibly sick, perhaps depressed. It seemed as though he was just going through the motions and not enjoying himself at all. The other thing that bothered me was how short the concert was; Barry was onstage for approx. 1 hr. 15 min. A friend accompanied me to the show who had never seen him in concert and got the same impression: that he was "down" and unenthusiastic.
