The Barenaked Ladies have never disappointed me. While their new line-up is a huge change, they managed to rework the old songs in to awesome new arrangements. They still ROCK!

Great show by BNL, even though they had flown in from the East Coast from an event early in the morning they still put on a great show. The Grand Sierra is also a great place to see a show, good seats and great acoustics.
BNL was outstanding
by Nevadanatural on 5/29/10Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 4 out of 5This was my first Barenakedladies show and I had a great time. The band definitely missed Stephen Page's powerful voice but I was impressed by how well Ed Robertson handles some of Stephen's standards such as The Old Apartment and What a Good Boy. They did an excellent job of sandwiching the stuff from their new album between classics and kept the show moving. I know it's not happening but I would love to see them bring Stephen back or find a comparable voice. Serena Ryder, the opening act, joined in for one song and did a great job, if they ever want to make it four guys and a girl she would be an excellent addition.
Not the legendary performance I heard about
by TahoeGin on 5/29/10Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 3 out of 5The Ladies were good. Good, not great. I tried my best not to focus on the fact that Steven Page was no longer in the band, but it was impossible. I found myself feeling a bit sad about the whole thing. I was especially sad to think I could have seen them "back in the day" to experience the legendary concert performance I had always heard about. Were they funny? Sure? Were they entertaining? Yep. They played their little hearts out for almost two hours and hit a bunch of the old standards, but alas... not my favorite BNL song of all time: Call & Answer. Too Steven? I thought for sure one of the other guys would just pick up his haunting call-backs. Better yet, perhaps the chick from the opening act would step in. Ed was great. He's a cutie and a real professional. He lit up the stage every time he was on it -- which was most of the time, thank goodness. There *may* have been a bit more emphasis on the songs from the new album, but I realize that's why they're on tour. To sell some albums. No mac and cheese throwing during Million Dollars either. That was a bummer. I know the Ladies are famous for their impromptu riffs instead of the standard lines during this song, but I could have done without the "skin smoothie" subsitituion during one of my favorite parts of the song. Not terribly funny. In conclusion, I'm glad I went, but can't shake the feeling of sadness about the split-up. I'll be front row center for the Reunion Tour, that's for sure.
Best BNL concert ever
by Anonymous on 5/29/10Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 5 out of 5Fun, loud, extra entertaining. Great place to see a great band. They said they were tiredbut they didn't play like they were feelng anything but full of energy. Love their banter, love their energy.
Solid performance w/ comic relief
by Skurt on 5/29/10Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 4 out of 5Performance was great, talented artist who commanded the stage. Played a solid mix of old and new music... Venue was challenged, sitting funky and no area to dance.
Barenaked ladies show Portland
by Catsitter on 5/28/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5It has been about 5 years since I last saw BNL in concert, I have seen them 3-4 times before the Portland show. Although Ed does a great job and the rest of the band is much more involved vocally, they are sorely missing the vocal power of Steve. The band is not as strong with out him. They have such an amazing catalog and they still have the wonderful energy and humor that they are known for. I was up on my feet for most of the show and did enjoy them, but there is something missing. I hope Steve can one day come back or they find another great vocalist to compliment Ed.
much fun
by molalla on 5/27/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5BNL delivered what fans came for " a fun evening where both audience and band looked like they were having agood time' THey played continuously for appr. two hours with barely a break to change instruments. No costume changes nolong intros just seamlessly floating fromone song to another.
Entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable performance!
by 1Johnfan on 5/26/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5While I was not sure how the absence of Steve would affect the show, I was very entertained and feel the band put on an amazing performance and did just fine without him. What a great bunch of guys!! Sound was better than the second performance by them that I've seen; this being the third. Definitely will be seeing them again next year!
First rock concert
by JessCM on 5/26/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5I love to listen to these guys on a CD or the radio. I like their music and I especially love their lyrics. Unfortunately, I was not aware they consider themselves rockers. I sure don't. However, the show was rock and roll all the way through. The speakers were turned up so loudly I could not hear their opening acts last name nor could I always understand their song lyrics. Serena ????, the opening act was a cutie pie, with a good lyric herself and full of energy. She wore me out just watching. Just turn the speakers down a tad guys, so those wonderful words can be understood. Other than that, it was fantastic. Thank you all.

They really put on a show for all ages in the audience!! High energy, humor, great vocals. Just an amazing time!
Hangin' with da Ladies
by Stinki on 5/25/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5The band sound great and had high energy. Serena Ryder was fabulous.... I'd never heard her before but she was great. The crowd however was annoying.... they wanted to stand up for 3/4 of the concert blocking the view of the stage.
Crowds have cured me of desire for live events
by KGPdx on 5/25/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5I had great seats to this concert - end aisle about 8 rows from the stage. The acoustics were wonderful, the band funny and talented. The problem was the people in the seats around me. The man in the seat in front of me took pictures the entire concert - holding his camera up above his head, right in my view - this was very distracting. I wondered why he bothered to buy a ticket for this live event - he should have just bought a picture book. I mean he took 20-30 pictures PER SONG! I prayed for his battery to die - alas, it did not. Also, there were some mellow songs where most of the crowd decided to sit down and take a rest. Not the six rows or so of people directly in front of me. I wouldn't have minded sitting down for a while but couldn't see anything with them standing. To make matters worse, the people behind me kept yelling forward, "Sit down!" Like someone was listening and going to heed their direction. Then the person behind me said something really clever, "better take a picture, you might miss something," which made me kinda laugh. I guess the guy in front of me was irritating her too. She just had a little less vocal restraint. I think I'm done with concerts.
Great show!
by cenori on 5/25/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5Very fun and energetic show. EXCELLENT opening act... Serena Ryder was amazing.
Still the Ladies I know and love
by riabee on 5/25/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5I was a little concerned about what the band would be like with its revised llline-up, but I have to say I was still blown away by the show they put on. Still musically brilliant, still entertaining, still a heap of fun. Nice job, BNL. You guys rock it...
BNL Great as always!
by Mekasue on 5/25/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5Even with Steven not there, it didn't make that much of a differance. Ed, Jim, Kevin, and Tyler just rocked it out! Loved every minute of it!
Serena Ryder Rocks! (So does BNL)
by johnisaduck on 5/24/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Strange as it might seem, I've not been a huge fan of BNL and I only bought tickets to attend this show because I'm a big fan of Serena Ryder (the opening act). And, as I had hoped and expected, Serena was amazing. She has a huge voice and her songs are really fun and energetic. As for BNL, they were fantastic. I hadn't really listened to them much since way back with their first album. I wasn't even aware that the one guy (Stephen Page???) was no longer with the group. That said, I couldn't have enjoyed their part of the show more. They are truly a creative and dynamic band. Fantastic energy and just a tremendous show all around. I loved the whole concert. Everything was first rate.
BNL at the Keller in Portland, OR
by cutchaguy on 5/24/10Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5My wife and I were amazed at how BNL has evolved from a 5 person to a 4 person band while keeping the flair and feeling of what we have felt was their core sound and attitude. We especially loved how several songs were arranged (rearranged) and performed. Sound Of Your Voice was especially delightful, as well as some of the songs from Snacktime. It appeared as though they really enjoyed playing and it was great seeing Jim and Kevin take more prominent roles in the performance.
