About

With a delicate country twang that plays perfectly with the indie rock sound, Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses will murmur his emotionally complex songs to intimate rooms of thousands when the band begins its "Acoustic At The Ryman" Tour in early 2014. The group, originally called Horses, is known best for its melancholy lullaby-like “No One’s Gonna Love You” and the more anthemic “Is There a Ghost,” though they have several songs pulled from their four albums—"Everything All the Time," "Cease to Begin," "Infinite Arms" and "Mirage Rock"—that have enjoyed critical and popular acclaim. With the latest tour comes an accompanying release, "Acoustic At The Ryman," which pares down the sound even further.

Co-founded by former Seattleites Bridwell and then bandmate Mat Brooke in 2004, the Band of Horses collective has seen several lineup changes, with the current group including Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds. In an unusually democratic move, they collaborate together on song lyrics, instrumentation and show experience to create a lush, confessional sound for each concert and a unique feel for every album. Tickets are on sale now for the February shows. As fans scoop up seats on the West Coast, they are also no doubt replaying the beloved tunes from their significantly more upbeat 2012 album release, "Mirage Rock," which features the songs “Slow Cruel Hands of Time” and “Knock Knock” and isn’t a particularly easy album to play on the road. Bridwell jocularly laments his lack of musician prowess, but it’s clear from his latest works that practice is paying off, and his fans can look forward to many more years of his sweet, sentimental and lyrically complex melodies.

    Another amazing performance by BOH

by BOH on 10/19/23The Ritz - Raleigh

Band of Horses is one of my absolute favorite bands. Every time they are in NC I go to every venue they are performing at to see them. There music just speaks to me and I leave every show wanting more. I can’t wait for them to return.

Worst concert I’ve been to so far

by Tizz on 10/19/23The Ritz - Raleigh

I can’t lie, this was the worst concert I’ve been to. I left with my whole group about halfway through, the crowd was off, talking loudly and standing still and or doing way to much.. the music was extremely loud for a concert to the point where all you can hear is that loud pitchy noise and all the songs sounded the same due to how they performed them. Overall.. I’m sure it could be worse. But it wasn’t good. Bella white was amazing though, would’ve paid just to see her.

Excellent Venue, show fell a little short

by Simon on 10/18/23The Salt Shed - Chicago

First time at the Salt Shed and it is an incredible venue. I've loved band of horses for years and was so excited to see them. The show was good but not great. Feels like they would have been better suited for a smaller venue and got lost in the size of this venue.

The Salt Shed is top notch

by Chris on 10/16/23The Salt Shed - Chicago

I saw Band of Horses in 2010 and again in 2023. They still rock and I appreciate that they played more from the first 3 albums and less from the most recent 3. The Salt Shed continues to be one of my favorite venues. Great show all around.

    The most fun band live!

by Speech Bubbles on 10/11/23House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

Band of Horses are a highly underrated band. I knew of their songs through listening to Pandora. A friend recommended seeing them live, I was not disappointed. This band named through nearly two hours of play, cracked jokes, and barely took breaks in between each song. Bella White the opener was also unexpectedly wonderful and warm to the audience.

Band of Horses Delivers to a Packed House

by Zakes on 10/8/23Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

The Revolution in the Arts District of Ft. Lauderdale is definitely a place to witness greatness as the claustrophobic venue with plenty of bars to get your game face on, is intimate enough with better than average sound. Band of Horses delivered a solid 2 hour and change performance that rocked the place with a set that included the known songs, the in-betweens and a few covers. The band clearly has been on the road a bit as they delivered tight versions of their excellent songs. Interesting fence surrounds the stage on the second floor which reminded me of the movie "Roadhouse"but allowed fans to see the band closer and from behind the stage getting a look at the audience singing along.

by Mandy on 10/4/23Avondale Brewing Co. - Birmingham

Band of Horses never disappoints. They are consistently awesome. I've been lucky enough to see them five or six times as an opener and the main band. It's always a great time.

    Phenomenal time

by Jeri M. on 10/4/23Avondale Brewing Co. - Birmingham

I've never experienced a band just as happy to be on stage as the audience was to see them. Ben was so humble and thankful for the audience to come out for them. They blew it out of the water! The The venue, Avondale Brewery, was perfect, especially with A+ seating. We drove 5 hours to see them and hands down the best concert so far this year for us.

    TOO LOUD

    by Lk2383 on 9/17/23

The opener Griffin William Sherry was great (although not mentioned in the concert info I got), and volume was reasonable. However, when BOH came on the volume was turned way up, so ridiculous you could hear that grating interference noise. Ruined the concert for us. Also, didn’t appreciate waiting a while 20-30 min?) for BOH to take the stage once the opener was done.
