About

With a delicate country twang that plays perfectly with the indie rock sound, Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses will murmur his emotionally complex songs to intimate rooms of thousands when the band begins its "Acoustic At The Ryman" Tour in early 2014. The group, originally called Horses, is known best for its melancholy lullaby-like “No One’s Gonna Love You” and the more anthemic “Is There a Ghost,” though they have several songs pulled from their four albums—"Everything All the Time," "Cease to Begin," "Infinite Arms" and "Mirage Rock"—that have enjoyed critical and popular acclaim. With the latest tour comes an accompanying release, "Acoustic At The Ryman," which pares down the sound even further.

Co-founded by former Seattleites Bridwell and then bandmate Mat Brooke in 2004, the Band of Horses collective has seen several lineup changes, with the current group including Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds. In an unusually democratic move, they collaborate together on song lyrics, instrumentation and show experience to create a lush, confessional sound for each concert and a unique feel for every album. Tickets are on sale now for the February shows. As fans scoop up seats on the West Coast, they are also no doubt replaying the beloved tunes from their significantly more upbeat 2012 album release, "Mirage Rock," which features the songs “Slow Cruel Hands of Time” and “Knock Knock” and isn’t a particularly easy album to play on the road. Bridwell jocularly laments his lack of musician prowess, but it’s clear from his latest works that practice is paying off, and his fans can look forward to many more years of his sweet, sentimental and lyrically complex melodies.

    Sticky Factory - Horrible Sound

by Skoota on 9/8/23Knitting Factory - Spokane - Spokane

The Knitting Factory floors felt like they have not been mopped all hot summer. Come on managememt, this place is disgusting. Take out the carpet and pay at least a little bit of attention to the concert experience. This includes improving your sound equipment. The mix was worse than usual. The bass was WAY too loud and you could barely hear the lead guitar. Really, really disappointing. The band was fine, probably the the bottom of the four times I have seen them, but it was still pretty good. Ben really gutted through some vocal problems, he gave everything he had.

    Sound Sucked

by Anonymous on 9/7/23Knitting Factory - Spokane - Spokane

The Knitting Factory is a great venue but the sound was terrible during the Band of Horses (Headliner Band) at this concert. The bass guitar overpowered everything.

    Opener not an opener

by Ears wide open on 9/7/23Knitting Factory - Spokane - Spokane

BOH was great but the opener was maybe ok but not listed. I think that info should come from venue all the way through your (TM) push notifications. So I can see headliner and skip or be late to the opener.

    Energetic and inspiring

    by Jose on 8/8/23

we enjoyed the show, the band sounded very compact and consistent, full of energy and with a fun interaction amongst themselves and with the public. The set included new songs from their new album as well as classics like The Funeral, All is gone and others. The venue was great and comfortable, and we also enjoyed the support act by The Carriers.

    Incredible Show

    by Snake Plissken on 8/8/23

Crowd was engaged and positive. High fived a number of strangers who were having a blast, too. The band played a fantastic setlist and exhibited great energy. Ben sounded fantastic. He was funny and very appreciative of the crowd. He also recognized the history of the venue (Bogart's). No one in the band mentioned a single word about politics which was awesome. It was a top 10 lifetime show for me.

    Love Band of Horses

    by Jeff on 8/8/23

Great show, too loud, I don't mind loud, but so loud that the vocals were distorted and if I didn't know the songs I wouldn't have been able to pick out a word

    BEST!

by KHill on 12/7/21House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

Getting in the venue was great - short line to show vax card & ID, but it moved fast! Great bars inside. BOH put on an amazing show! Hard rock sing along time. The guys have an awesome sense of humor and the crowd was a big group of happy people. The whole experience was one of the most enjoyable shows I've ever been to.

    Awesome!

by EveL on 11/17/21House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

The band was awesome, they played for almost 2 hours. We upgraded to the VIP and it was the best to see them on their last show of their tour 2021

    Incredible

    by Crystal on 11/16/21

Band of Horses never disappoint, but this show really took it to the next level. The Hollywood palladium is small enough that we could stand close to the front with a great view. They handled COVID restrictions well, so we felt safe. Truly the best!

Bought seats, but no seats :(

by Barnsie on 11/15/21Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

Our VIP tickets said seats 19 & 20 and when we arrived they said we couldn’t sit in the seats 🤷🏻‍♀️ We had to stand and my kid was as too small to see anything. To top it off, no one sat in the VIP seats that they had!! They remained empty for the whole show. So lame:(

    Hard wok

by Homie on 11/15/21Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

Band of horses simply rock! With full sincerity and effort. They gave so much energy and power, but it fell upon an Covid shocked and docile crowd. Professional and consummate entertainers, the band wove a narrative through their albums that was delivered with passion and force! They were well rehearsed and it was truly a pleasure, as always, to share in the moment! Except for the wonderful group of bohemian free spirits dancing just to the right of the crowd however, the audience of bubble wrapped zombies returned none of the favor. Band of Horses continues to impress and with the power and energy the bassist and guitarist contribute I eagerly anticipate their European tour and look forward to seeing them rock the Paradisio in Amsterdam!

    Disappointed

by SPW on 11/15/21Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

We were honestly so disappointed after having made the four hour trip to LA to see what was a ‘bucket list’ act in person. The sound in the venue was absolutely awful and we left feeling very disappointed. Bummer!!
