BalletMet Presents Alice Tickets

Good show, felt that the props could have been better but very good dancing and way to tell the story.

Publicity indicated that the ballet "Alice" would be rather brief so it raised the question as to whether it would be worth the cost. A few minutes into the work made it plain that it would be worth it and more. Bolstered by colorful and imaginative sets and costumes, not to leave out the clever choreography, "Alice" was a charming, fanciful and often hilarious delight involving established artists as well as a goodly number of "up and comers." The primary dancers skillfully displayed their individual personalities with seeming ease, clearly indicating their thoughts and moods. As contrasted to so many classical works, facial expressions were varied and unmistakable. There may have been a moment or two when there was too much going on all at once but that only contributed to the fun sense of chaos found in the story itself. The music by Gustav Holst and Sir Edward Elgar was well chosen and appropriate even if at times a bit redundant. Lighting and staging were smooth and seemingly trouble-free. The very youngest participants were the capstone charmers. Whether they were flowers, flamingos or hedgehogs in a game of croquet, they were well nigh flawless in their roles, adding to the overall effect of a highly successful endeavor. Kudos to all involved and hopes for similar presentations in the future.

BalletMet has stepped up its game with current director! Alice was a phenomenal unexpected trip down the rabbit hole! Ive seen past shows and they did not demonstrate the qualities of this well executed production!

My two friends an I really enjoyed Alice.The seats were great and the performances were wonderful.The costumes were very colorful. The White Rabbit , Alice and the colorful flowers were my favorites.It was a wonderful experience. Thank you,

Alice exceeded every expectation. The costumes were to die for. The dancing was beautiful and exciting. The special effects were superb. I have no negative to report, Alice was simply outstanding!

Fantastic! Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are one of my favorite stories, so I was unsure if a ballet could live up to the fun. Well it was truly amazing!!! They picked the best parts of both stories and captured the fun, craziness and wonder. See if you can, I want to see it again!

Costumes were great. Ballet was good but nothing special. I'd hoped the Red Queen & Madhatter would have a bigger role. Act 2 was better. Needed less dancing with the unimportant characters and more storyline in Act 1. So glad we paid dress rehearsal price for tickets and not full price. Would've been disappointed at full price. Found the historical theater decor to be more spectacular than the actual show!

Production lighting, costumes, and delivery of content was nearly perfect! A very entertaining story.

This was an amazing performance. The costumes were beautiful. I loved watching the children perform. All of the performances were beautiful. Wonderful night at the ballet.

I love everything Alice in Wonderland so I was super excited for this. I’d never seen a ballet before, not even like the nutcracker movie or anything, so I had no idea what to expect in that regard. But the entire thing was amazing. It’s just as bizarre as you’d hope an Alice show is. The cast is amazing. The costume design was gorgeous. It was great.

Balletmet is always a wonderful experience. Alice was fabulous from beginning to end. The dancers, choreography, costumes and sets were beautiful. I am so glad we have such a forward thinking ballet company in Columbus.
