One of the best rendition of Nutcraker I have ever seen. Great show!
Amazing show! I enjoyed it so much. Such wonderful talent by the dancers, orchestra and director. I look forward to watching again next year!
Purchasing tickets was easy. Storing on Apple wallet perfect. No paper to get lost! Ushers we’re very helpful. Theater did get warm by Act2 due to crowd. My only complaint. Performance was excellent!!! Skilled performers. Beautiful costumes; loved the younger dancers & bit of humor.
We really enjoyed the ballet. We have both been to many events like this one. We were so frustrated with the people in front of us. They were yelling, taking videos, and talking very loudly during the entire performance. People were constantly getting up and down during the show. People were being taken to their seats after the show was started and it kept blocking our view and was very disruptive. I also didn’t care that people were allowed to bring noisy chip bags into the theatre. People were spilling wine on others and the beer bottles opening during the show was also disruptive. All other concerts and shows I’ve attended make people wait until intermission if they are late or leave. People videoing are removed from the show. Drinks and food are for before/after the show and during intermission. The performance itself was great. The organization was terrible.
This was the worst Nutcracker I’ve ever been too (and I’ve been a lot). First of all, why change a classic? The whole ballet experience was disappointing. I felt like I was at a recital. Also, I had an aisle seat and once the ballet began anyone coming in late would be escorted in and everyone seated would have to get up, move into the aisle to let them in blocking the view to the stage. This happened for atleast 20 minutes. I would love to have liked this and I tried really hard but wow this was bad.
The music was pre-recorded, not live orchestra. The tree and sleigh were dull colors instead of festive with lights. The cannon shot was pitiful with 3 pastel balls plopping out, no smoke, no bang, the action lacked energy, as kicks, stabs and slaps desintegrated to shoves, jabs and taps. There were 3 landings yet only one offering refreshments and only 3 cash registers for the entire theater. Poor planning. And the sale of toys was adjacent to snacks so lines clogged and products could not be viewed. Poor planning. We left at intermission. On the positive side I was thrilled there are children taking ballet and people in the Florida Panhandle who are interested and being exposed to cultural events like ballet, however meager.
The show was great and the venue was clean with helpful staff. Seats were easily accessed.
Fresh new choreography! Dancers able to bring magic of Nutcracker into the audience. Loved the costumes and set. Best performance of The Nutcracker from Pensacola Ballet!
This was my mom and i first ballet we have always wanted to see the Nutcracker, we where not dissappointed it was amazing the dancers where all brilliant and graceful i plan to go to many more performances of this great art.
Sad, good performance; however, started 30 minutes later and they still allowed people in another 30 minutes later. Complete isles getting up while the late comers walked to their seats. Additionally the theater allowed people recording the show like it was someone’s recital. Kind of hard to watch the show when someone in front of you has their shiny screen glowing recording the show.
We truly enjoy this wonderful show ever December. It was as always, truly magical. The amount of work and dedication these young performers put into this show is just awe inspiring. This is our 12th Nutcracker and it just gets better and better each year, its never the same! Our absolutely favorite part was when the doll performed in the beginning, she is awesome!
This show is our absolute favorite every year! Already looking forward to next year! The company does an AMAZING job of organizing and entertaining! LOVE IT and highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!
Delightful ballet with elaborate stage sets. The dancers other than a few of the main characters performed at a level beneath my expectations. Perhaps opening up to other studios with auditions would allow for more talented dancers. This was more of a themed dance recital rather than a professional production. I was mildly disappointed, especially considering the cost of the seats.
The crowd was very lively and supportive. The production was a cute and smile-provoking adaptation.
The man who was the director just kept talking and talking before the performance, just wanted to say shut up and let the show start. All the dancers performed very well and the scenery was very lovely. The theater is nice but the seats are very small and uncomfortable. The seat next to me was unoccupied for almost half of the first act. A woman appeared and sat down, (plopped down) she proceeded to take up the arm rests on both sides of the seat and she clapped at very move. Very rude person. Would not go back for another performance next year, one and done. Sorry
This is the 7th year taking my daughters and it continues to be our tradition- the small changes keep it exciting and us curious what may happen next year We love it!!
The show was great. These young dancers work so hard and it shows. My complaint is with how the Saenger handles late-comers to the show. There were people coming in late well into the first act, more than 30 minutes after start time. This is disruptive and rude to people who arrived on time and are trying to watch the show. These people block our view and stand around and talk until they are seated (this happened in the balcony) Other theaters around the country will not seat late-comers until intermission. The Saenger should implement the same policy.
Somewhat disappointing. All was expected and enjoyed prior to intermission, but the staging the last part of the show was boring. Everything seemed "rushed" and the final scene revealing Clara's dreaming on the couch seemed like an afterthought. There was an uncomfortable silence between each dance after the audience clapped and we were waiting for the next music to begin. Also, the music seemed to be spliced together and not very well. All the dancers were wonderful and the costumes were fabulous. We don't need to hear the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy twice though. I will return.
Some interesting changes. Overall another great Nutcracker in Pensacola.
This is the third time I have been to the Pensacola Ballet production of The Nutcracker. This year I took my 7 year old granddaughter. She loved it! Her eyes were wide with excitement. I am never disapointed with this production.
