Such a wonderful take on the Original

by Lyndsey S on 12/20/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

I thought it was so fun. From the costumes to the humor and everything in between. It was a great show and we were never bored. This was a great little change from the original, we really enjoyed it.

    Beautiful Experience

by Sue A on 12/19/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

Spent a lovely evening at The Nutcracker. The costumes and sets were wonderful, especially the opening party scene. The orchestra was great and having live music adds so much to the overall experience. The dancing was superb. It was an enchanting evening!

    Wonderful professional production of classic

by Lorid on 12/16/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

The show itself was fantastic. Sets were spectacular, orchestra excellent and THE DANCING!! Dancing was terrific! Had some issues with them venue being able to read our tickets...not sure if that is Ticketmaster or them. Also, very long cold lines to get in. Almost missed opening due to lots of ticket issues. Go, but get there plenty early. Worth it!!

    Wonderful!

by Allison on 12/14/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

What a great performance! This was my third time seeing The Nutcracker, and I was finally able to take my 6-year-old niece for her first time. She absolutely loved it and was twirling the whole time we walked out of the theater. Ballet Idaho put some fun touches on the performance that I hadn't seen before, and we all loved it.

    Nutcracker Ballet

by Grandma on 12/14/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

I started a tradition a year ago. I decided my Christmas gift to my family was a night at the Nutcracker Ballet. They have decided to continue this tradition. This ballet performance was the best ever. It was obvious the performers love what they do. Their performance and the live orchestra was unsurpassed

    I was Impressed

by Julie on 12/14/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

I took my girls and didnt think it will be that great for adults. I was very impressed. Everything about it was just beautiful! I regret not bringing my 7 year old son, he would have loved it as well.

    Mostly great!

by Shawn J. on 12/13/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

The performance was great, as always. What was confusing was getting into the building. They REALLY need signs pointing the way. We parked in the parking structure only to discover we could have parked right next to the building. Then the entrance we have used for years was locked and we had to figure out you needed to go to the river side to get in. Giving a street name was of little use, arrows, ARROWS! Again, the performance was fantastic, even learning that now drinks were allowed in the threaten was nice.

    Idaho Ballet Nutcracker

by lynn on 12/13/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

We went to the Ballet on opening night. The presentation was well orchestrated and enjoyed by all. My friend who I invited did not realize the ballet company associated with Boise had this level of performance and was quite surprised that Boise had "Such a good ballet company". This was my third experience seeing the nutcracker here in Boise as it is a family tradition. Thank you for opening her eyes to the culture of Boise. A new door has been opened and I'm sure there will be more Boise Ballet experiences in the near future

    Loved!

by AG on 12/13/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

We all enjoyed this but my daughter (14) especially loved this! She is normally reserved but was enthusiastically loud clapping every chance she got! Huge smile on her face the whole time. This will be a new family tradition.

    Nutcracker

by Music grandma on 12/13/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

Getting in the door was a pain. None of the volunteer' s scanners would work. So they just let us go in. The Nutcracker performance was superb

    More beverage booths

by Kiki on 12/13/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

I love the Morrison Center, very classy! The lines to the bathrooms and beverage booths are way too long. You can barely make it back to your seat before the intermission is over. If you are by yourself you have to pick going to the bathroom or getting a beverage, there is not time for both. I love that we are able to enjoy a glass if wine in the auditorium. The Nutcracker was, as always, perfection!

    Nutcracker Suite #7

by HRWill on 12/12/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

My daughter and I attended this season's opening night performance of the Nutcracker Suite. 2022 marks the 7th performance we've seen at the Morrison Center. The show has always been amazing and each performance has been unique. This year's show was no exception, however, I must say it did seem just a little off. Perhaps because it was opening night and the dancers may have been just a touch nervous or excited? I asked my daughter's opinion during intermission and she too stated the performance seemed that timing was off. Regardless of our perceptions, we enjoyed the show and will look forward to next year's performance.

    Breathtaking, unforgettable, soul warming

by lindael on 11/11/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

I actually inadvertently purchased tickets to Mozart in Motion, thinking I was going to the Nutcracker and after my purchase realized my "error" and OH MY GOODNESS! The best error ever! I really had no idea what to expect. While the first portion if the show, traditional ballet dance and costumes, fulfilled my expectations (and was beautiful of course), the remaining exceeded them. The music and stories and movement took my breath away, warmed my heart like only an effortless looking dance can. Amazing choreography, set design, lighting, and of course, dancing. What an incredible show!

    Not what I expected

by Kelly on 5/10/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

I love ballet, and especially Ballet Idaho. However, I purchased these tickets thinking that this would be a ballet suitable for adults. It was not. This was definitely geared toward small children. The narration throughout both stories distracted from the dancing and was very annoying. It was much more of a "story time" than a ballet. I searched and searched the ticketmaster and Ballet Idaho websites before buying the tickets for some sort of indication of the content but could never find any. Yes, I realize that this was a fairytale/children's story, but so is the Nutcracker (my favorite ballet). My 22 year old daughter and I were quite disappointed and judging from the conversations we could hear going on around us by other groups of adults without children, they were also disappointed. This was definitely meant for the children, and the children around us clearly loved it. I just wish there had been more dancing and less talking.
