About

Los Angeles post-grunge outfit Badflower have gained a meaningful reputation for hard-hitting and melodic rock anthems covering themes around mental health and addiction. Comprising singer/guitarist Josh Katz, guitarist Joey Morrow, bassist Alex Espiritu, and drummer Anthony Sonetti, Badflower's tendency to address human vulnerability makes them a powerful example of how the hard rock genre has evolved in the 21st Century.

Formed in Northridge, California, in 2008, Badflower started out under the name the Cartunes with Katz and Morrow meeting in music school. They soon changed their name and recruited Espiritu and Sonetti to round out the lineup. After gigging around Los Angeles, Badflower found the attention of former NSYNC member Lance Bass, who plugged them on his SiriusXM radio show.

In 2013, Badflower released their debut EP, About A Girl. In 2016, Badflower released their second EP, Temper, via Hundred Handed Inc. The EP featured the single "Animal." In 2018, Badflower had a hit single with "Ghost," which unflinchingly discussed subjects like depression and self-harm.

"Ghost" found a significant audience and peaked at No. 11 on Billboard's Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. "Ghost" was also certified Gold by the RIAA. "I was depressed and thinking about self-harm. So I just wrote it," Katz told Loudwire about "Ghost." "I played out the whole scenario and put it into a song because that's what writers do, I suppose. I didn't even know if it was gonna go on the album. I was sorta hesitant to even show it to the rest of my band, but everyone heard it and loved it."

In 2017, Badflower hit the road on the Rock 'N' Roll Now tour alongside Bleeker, Beware Of Darkness and Red Sun Rising. The same year, they began work on their debut studio album, 2019's OK, I'm Sick, which Loudwire named one of the 50 best rock albums of that year. In 2020, Badflower released "30" on Katz's 30th birthday.

Badflower followed up their debut with 2021's This Is How The World Ends, which featured the singles "Family," "Don't Hate Me," "Fukboi," and "Johnny Wants To Fight." Loudwire ranked This Is How The World Ends as the 38th best rock/metal album of 2021. Catch Badflower on tour when they come to a city near you.

    YOU MUST GO SEE BADFLOWER

by Rach on 3/27/23House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

First of all - the openers, Blood Red Shoes and Des Rocs were awesome! I would've watched a whole set with just them. Badflower KILLED IT! It was one of the best shows I've been to and this is coming from someone who primarily listens to metal. House of blues did great making sure everything went smoothly, I love going to shows here. Will definently be seeing Badflower anytime they return!

    Badflower is the GOAT

by Theboiwiththedragontat2 on 3/27/23House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

The opening bands were very talented and Des Rock is very good at hyping up a crowd. Plus Badflower played a phenomenal set and absolutely nailed it at being a headliner.

What's the point of digital tickets

by Kon on 3/16/23Knitting Factory - Boise - Boise

The concert was fine but the venue wouldn't accept the digital tickets from Apple wallet. Had to log into the ticket master website for them to scan them. A literal waste of time when we're standing in line trying to get inside.

    Very Good Show

by Johnny Harpoon on 3/12/23Irving Plaza - New York

Overall, I thought this was a very good show. I first discovered Badflower when they first came out, as I was one of a handful of people in the audience at their first WonderBar show in Asbury Park, years ago. I haven't been able to keep up with their newer stuff, and some of those songs are not my cup of tea, but the older stuff is still great. However, they always put on a good show. Special shout out to Alex - he stills brings 100% to every song, every show. In my opinion, a great and very talented band. Please don't lose your blues/rock edge in favor for a more main stream sound. Keep rocking!

    Best concert ever

by Sadie on 3/8/23The Sylvee - Madison

Not only was it Badflower’s best selling concert ever, it was one of the best nights of my life. Camping for 12 hours was incredibly worth it. The band was super high energy and the crowd was so into the show. The pit was also incredible as they were moshing and doing flips what seemed like the entire show. I would give almost anything to do this night over again.

    House of Blues Badflower Chicago

by Littlestar82 on 3/8/23House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

It was absolutely great, everything about it. Wouldn't recommended ticket master because they control the tickets you purchase and we could have gave away or returned early entry but they won't let you.

    Great Music and Energy!

by Tristan on 3/8/23House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Hadn't heard of the opening bands prior to the show, but Blood Red Shoes and Des Rocs were great fun and great leadups to the headliner! Though all a little different in styles, they had a familiar vibe that was really enjoyable! All three bands had great energy and seemed to really enjoy their time on stage performing for the fans in attendence! My friend and I had a lovely time out!!! Lots of fun and great energy!

by CarmenF on 3/7/23The Sylvee - Madison

Once we finally got into the building, the show was phenomenal. Blood Red Shoes was an awesome opener, Des Rocs brought the energy and Badflower- well they killed it, plain and simple! The Sylvee is quite the concert venue, very enjoyable.

    Badflower Show in Madison WI

by Alex B on 3/7/23The Sylvee - Madison

This is my second time seeing Badflower in concert and they have yet to disappoint. They always put on a great show. From beginning to end they bring an abundance of energy and just make you want to sign and scream along. The lead singer is witty and makes me laugh every time he addresses the audience. Further, the group showed up on time for both concerts and left me feeling like I got a show worth well more than what I paid for it. They are a must-see group if they are coming to a venue near you.

One of the best modern rock bands... and their best show yet

    by J. W. on 3/7/23The Sylvee - Madison

Sold out show at the Sylvee... great venue if you like General Admission seating or are willing to pay for the front balcony views (which I love). Sound was great... views were great. Badflower are such a tight band with amazing songs and the best frontman of the modern rock bands in terms of incredible musical and singing skills. Nice long 20 song set... all the hits and some surprises. A show like this is why you go to concerts!
