While I'm a fan of both groups, I had seen Skynyrd before, twice. They were TERRIBLE!! Their performance was completely phoned in by a band whose members barely reflect the original amazing LYNYRD SKYNYRD. Johnny is a poor excuse for his revered older brother, the late, great Ronnie Van Zant. Rickey Medlocke is an even poorer excuse for Steve Gaines (if you can't play Free Bird properly, you shouldn't be in this band!!). It's time to retire the tour guys.
Skynyrd played first and we waited through their performance to see the band we really came for, BAD COMPANY!! THEY WERE AWESOME!!! Paul Rodgers, THE VOICE, has still got it. His vocals still sound as good as the original recordings. The band seemed to have a great time on stage and truly appreciated the fans. There was a sing along . . . I always love when a band lets the audience show their love of their songs and they interact with the crowd. JLL was rocking'!
" . . . Sing it out loud . . . it's a part of my rock and roll fantasy"! My fantasy came true, seeing Bad Company, mostly Paul Rodgers on stage. I'll be back next year, but hope they find a different band to tour with.
If it was just Bad Company, it would have been a 5 star rating.
