About

B2K In Concert

For a whirlwind two years in the early 2000s, boy band B2K held the world in their sensitive but rugged palms, creating bouncy, hip-hop–enhanced R&B with P. Diddy ("Bump, Bump, Bump") and even starring in a blockbuster dance drama (You Got Served) that showcased their lithe bodies and voices equally. Though the group split up in 2004, late 2018 brought the welcome news that Omarion, Fizz, Boog, and Raz-B are back together and ready to inspire screams and swoons around the U.S. with The Millennium Tour, a bill stacked with names who also call up the flash and flirtation of the aughts: Pretty Ricky, Chingy, Mario, Lloyd, and more.

Boys of the New Millennium, as they're officially known, began as four ambitious kids mostly from southern Los Angeles (Inglewood, Compton, Watts) brought together by industry veteran Chris Stokes, the guru behind predecessors Immature/IMx. But after B2K dropped a self-titled debut in 2002 — filled with slinky bump-n-grinders like "Gots Ta Be" and jiggy dance grooves like "Uh Huh" — it was clear they had a seductive magic all their own. Their recurring spots on the legendary, aptly named Scream tours were thrilling combinations of synchronized dance, perfect harmonies, and intimate interactions with an audience that never stopped squealing.

As their faces plastered the walls of more and more teens' bedrooms around the world, B2K worked tirelessly to please, releasing a splashy holiday collection called Santa Hooked Me Up (don't sleep on the swagged-up "Sexy Boy Christmas") and a second album, Pandemonium!, both before the dawn of 2003. The new songs expertly paired percussive production evoking Timbaland and the Neptunes with grade A songwriting by the likes of R. Kelly ("Girlfriend"). All of the boys' lyrical boasting and heartbreaking was backed up by their starring roles in and guest-studded soundtrack for 2004 flick You Got Served, which remains a cult favorite.

While B2K called it quits that same year, their talent, success, and youth ensured more to come. Lead man Omarion became a Grammy-nominated master of bedroom-oriented R&B and also joined rapper Fizz on VH1's Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. Boog and Raz-B have also pursued careers across music and film/TV, occasionally crossing paths with their bandmates, but few outside endeavors have stirred up as much fervor as the B2K reunion announcement.

  • It was Cool....

    by M on 3/28/19FedExForum - MemphisRating: 3 out of 5

Of course, b2k put on a great show... But let’s talk about the VIP after party... If I would have known that there was going to be some, I said ”some” groupies and hood rats there, ”Which I should have known that” I would have put my money right back in my pocket. Some of those girls were soooo thirsty... I mean... we are in our 30’s now... Really? Do groupies still exist? Apparently so... One hood rat licked in Omarion's ear... That was Ridiculous, not to mention there were girls lined up to twerk on him. He couldn't even breathe! I danced by myself a bit, Grabbed a beer and ate my popcorn bc the girls were more entertaining to watch than b2k lol They acted as if they’ve never been around people in the public eye before.... Talk about starstruck... Smh... Boog and fizz left early ”which I don't blame them at all.” Who wants to be around that? Omarion and Raz stayed until it was all over. I have to mention this as well about how the b2k personality was. Boog seemed laid back and tired. Of course, fizz full of himself and prop lit af. Omarion was a sweetheart and down to earth. Raz was cool but his attention was more on those two girls he was with. If I’m not mistaken, I think Raz took home two groupies that night... Hah. None of them were attractive... If you ask me... But I guess if you’re willing to give it up, looks don't matter that much anyways...

  • Amazing time!

My friends and I were geeked from the moment we found out that B2K was going on tour! The show was everything we expected it to be. We screamed, we danced and sang songs that reminded us of great teenage memories! Hopefully, this isn't the last tour! I'd love to go again!

I enjoyed every minute of this concert. I was happy to see some of my favorite artists perform live and I will never forget my experience. My seat was comfortable when I was tired of standing and the large screens were clear and I could still enjoy the show.

    by c. on 3/28/19FedExForum - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

I loved each & every performer but the venue didn’t have access all around the building there were a million doors but we had to walk all the way around the building in heels also the sound quality was very distorted it was way too loud & the lighting was horrible the only good videos I have are on the big screen made my iPhone look like an android smh

I had an amazing time at the concert. My only critique is that the concert started at 7:30pm. I got there at 7:40pm. I waited in line until 8:40 pm. I missed two acts and on the third one I was able to catch one song. I understand I was late by 10 minutes, that the waiting in line was unacceptable. We have to find a better way to get through security without it taking an hour.
