Great cast, great set, great venue. An absolutely delightful evening!
I didn't pay to hear your views on Donald Trump. Worry about filling your 3/4 empty theater.
An absolutely delightful story told/sang wonderfully!
Avenue Q was great! The theater was nicely set up, and I enjoyed the small setting. My only critique was that it would have been nice to know beforehand that the seating was on a first come, first serve basis
The show was fabulous! I've never been to a stage west performance before, but I would definitely attend another show. Having seen the national tour of Avenue Q, the SW production was just as great.
I have to give props to Charlie and Rebecca for their great performances in the leads. I thought the others were good as well but some of the duet combinations did not work well for me. Overall it was a great performance and my wife and I definately had a great time and if given the opporunity we would see the show.
"Very" non-politically correct. The casts use of puppets made modern day issues, that we all think about but don't talk about, funny and exceptable. I loved this play and want to see it again!
I have a puppet company and we came and had a lot of fun. I have also seen it before at much larger venues and find it just as much fun if not more being so close. Performers showed talent and energy along with a love for what they were doing.
I was blown away at the high quality of the performance. I thought maybe local people would not be as talented as a touring show, but they were right up there. Great voices, great acting, great choreography.
I'd never seen "Avenue Q" before, and I was only passingly familiar with one of the songs. So it was a delightful surprise to experience this show as presented by this ensemble of stellar local talent. I took my "kids" (not young kids -- this show isn't actually suitable for the "Sesame Street" set) and a friend with me, and we were riveted throughout the performance. My daughter was so taken by the show that she immediately came home and started looking for all the YouTube clips of other performances she could find, and purchased the soundtrack on iTunes. In watching some of those clips with her, I have to say that the Stagewest crew performed as well or better than any other company showcased there. The vocals were outstanding, and the comedic timing of the cast was impeccable. Do I recommend this show? Hell, yes!!! A big shoutout to the cast and crew of this production for giving us an evening out we'll be talking about and remembering fondly for a long, long time.
AVENUE Q was hilarious. Stoner Theatre was cramped but intimate. Looking forward to new digs @ Des Moines Social Club.
amazing show! great performers, amazing content!!!!
Very well performed and produced. My only complaint would be on the size and layout of the theater itself, but since this is the last performance before they move to a new venue, all thumbs up!
The cast was wonderful and had such great energy. I had been waiting since I was in high school to see Avenue Q and was not disappointed!
Some of the songs were well done. Everyone Is a Little Bit Racist and The Internet is for Porn kept me intrigued and laughing. The love story dragged at times, but the message, as a whole, was to the point and something that many could relate to in their own lives. Sometimes the profanity was a bit over the top and unneeded, as was the puppet sex. The lead characters did most of the work in a fine fashion. The first act was very entertaining, but the second act left me a little bored. I checked my watch a couple of times. The comedy was lacking and the moral was a little too in your face. I could have left at intermission satisfied.
This was my first time to the riffe theatre and it was a blast. This show is on par with a Wicked or Book of Morman. The plot moved quickly and the songs were easy to understand and catchy. This is a classic must see show.
Great show you could almost forget they were puppets. The Gary coleman puppet was the most realistic.
So funny. At times difficult to make out complete dialogue or punch lines, but overall terrific experience...if one can take an R-rating!
So much fun! We were smiling and laughing the entire time.
This was the second time I've seen Avenue Q. It was as enjoyable as the first. A fun lighthearted show.
