About

Avenged Sevenfold is a heavy metal quintet from Huntington Beach, California that has spent over two decades as one of the genre’s biggest mainstream crossover acts. They’ve earned six certified platinum albums, four Billboard Hot 100-charting singles and nearly three billion YouTube streams. Formed in 1999, the band adopted their stage names M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev and Synyster Gates ahead of their 2001 debut album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. It wasn’t until the band added bassist Johnny Christ and transitioned to a more progressive metal sound for their 2003 follow-up Waking the Fallen that they began to resemble the uninhibited, creative force that fans recognize today. A7X’s 2005 major label debut City of Evil propelled the band to a wider audience behind the breakout single “Bat Country,” and their 2007 self-titled album built on those gains with a No. 4 debut on the Billboard 200. Following the death of drummer The Rev in 2009, Avenged Sevenfold regrouped for 2010’s Nightmare, which topped the Billboard 200 and hosted their highest Hot 100 hit “Nightmare” as well as the touching tribute “So Far Away,” which became their first No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. 2013’s Hail to the King also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was followed by 2016’s The Stage, which garnered the band’s first Grammy nomination in the Best Rock Song category for its title track. In 2023, Avenged Sevenfold came roaring back after five years off the road with Life Is but a Dream…

    Avenged Sevenfold LIBAD Tour

BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! Blows every other concert out of the water

    Fine. Could/should have been better.

by Tom on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

5 songs of a 15 song setlist were from the newest album that's been out less than a year. The crowd wasn't really into it minus "Nobody". The crowd erupted for the older stuff. They knew what we wanted and didn't give us more of it. Show was fine but should have been better. I did enjoy the on screen special effects.

    Unbelievable energy

by JC on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

A7X put on an incredible performance! The energy from the crowd and arena singing along to every word made each song that much more powerful. I've seen them 3x and this was by far the best performance and setlist they have had. If you're a new fan or been with them since Sounding the Seventh Trumpet (like me) then I highly recommend you go see them.

Had to see it to believe it

by Iacnld on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

I flew from Phoenix to Raleigh just to see Brian play. I’ve seen videos but I just had to see him for myself. The ‘Nobody’ piece with him playing the headless guitar was beyond belief. I watched his hands through binoculars the entire concert. Nothing against the rest of AX7. They were great too but Brian was… IS… phenomenal!

    Avenged sevenfold in Pittsburgh

by Jeremy on 4/1/24PPG Paints Arena - Pittsburgh

Sullivan king dub step metal the opener was awesome , crazy bass that shacks your chest , lazers, fire 🔥 he plays guitar live, best opener in awhile, poppy was weird not heavy enough for this show In my opion,Avenged killed it live like always, kinda a more stripped down stage show no fire , except for lcd screens , pulled out so new stuff n some deeper cuts, shadows voice was amazing it's been 7 years since I last saw them live, n they still were frkn awesome live, n worth the 3 n a half hr drive out too Pittsburgh, 5 stars

    Great experience overall

by Annika on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

This is one of my all time favorite bands and I have seen them live before. Unfortunately their new songs are very mainstream and don't sound anything like THE Avenged Sevenfold we know. Even electric voice over... M Shadows has a unique voice to begin with, so why? The show should have started with a different opening song that captivates the crowd. It was an odd, slow, quiet song.... The known and older songs were amazing and got the crowd going. They have so much talent and I loved their performance of those songs.

by MC on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

Everything from the set up to production to performance was fantastic. The band interacted with the crowd and made the experience unforgettable! The openers they chose were unique and extraordinarily fun! Would recommend anyone to see A7X live.

    Great show, disappointing set list

    by FrankD20 on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

The show was great with what they played. But on tour with a new album, obviously going to play a lot of newer stuff, but this band has so many GREAT songs on past albums and hardly played any of them. I believe I heard 3 maybe 4 older songs. I get putting out the new stuff, but you gotta play songs for the long time fans too.

    Dissapointment compared to 2023

by Hunter on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

Sullivan king was pretty cool. Couldnt understand poppy. Avenged song choice and set length left alot to be desired in comparison to 2023. Not to mention how much of a hurry they were in to get gone. No encore either. Guessing it was because they had a fair maby seats unfilled.

Amazing music from an amazing band

by Icy on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

Concert was great. Sullivan king is boss. Poppy was pleasant and Avenged Sevenfold brought the house down. At times it was hard to hear the lyrics like M. Shadows mic was a little off but still a great show. Never disappointed.

Disappointing sound and stage - A birthday gift gone wrong

by JD on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

Sound was not clear, far too much bass, and also some crackling audio, could not even understand Shadows' words. Sat in section 117 row T, which is normally a great view of side stage and performers at PNC Arena, but with the A7X show, half the view was blocked by a curtain and the the intensity of the stage floor lighting from the opposite side of the stage was distracting. Overall the stage was dimly lit, so it was difficult to see the musicians, and they rarely turned to play for us on the sidelines. That seating section really should not have been an option with this stage configuration. We referred to the local projection screen overhead, but it was not clear either as just about every shot had computer augmented graphics turning the subjects into grim reapers, skeletons or adding horns. May have been an interesting affect for a song or two, but not the entire time. We really wanted to see what these talented guys were playing, but between the disguise of CG and the poor audio, it was a very disapointing show indeed. We really expected a more theatrical performance and interesting stage presentation from these creative musicians. We have seen some terrific hard rock performances from the same seating in this venue before, but this experience with A7X will not be repeated.

    Disappointed

by Disappointed on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

Hated that they had a DJ & opening band then no encore????. Pick one but don't have both. I came to see the main band...should have played longer. :(

3 Fantastic bands in one show

by Meistres Avalon on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

Sullivan King really knows how to entertain. A one man machine. Poppy, the mystery continued. I had no idea she was such a powerhouse. I was really impressed. Flawless performance. Avenge Sevenfold, I waited years to see this show and worth every moment. To feel it vibrate through you life was next level. Great set. Seeing "Nobody"live was a gift. Unfortunately they did not play "Far Away", but imagine they have their sound reasons. Much respect to the bad ass "new"drummer. This is a show that can't be missed. Diverse Fandom where there was nothing but love. ♡♡♡

    Concert

by Crazy J on 4/1/24PPG Paints Arena - Pittsburgh

Casamigos club was the worst 37.00 dollar purchase I ever made? Nothing included? The penguins game all you can eat and drink beer and low shelf wine. Concerts pay for all food and drink make no sense to buy passes? Big mistake that I would never do again or recommend anybody do.

Great evening of unique musicianship, super arena

by ESBullins on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

We really enjoyed Avenged Sevenfold, Poppy, and Sullivan King. The bill is eclectic but complimentary; it is a reflection of the level of thought and detail A7X puts into everything they do. Sound was on point; both Poppy and A7X mixes were as clean and well balanced as the album mixes of the songs they performed. The screens and laser show was well done. We sat on the second level and adjacent to PNC Arena's awesome bar area; though our seats were nice, we chose to stand at a round table available at the bar for extra room. For $53, this was a steal; we normally would choose to buy "pit"or GA floor, but this was a good tradeoff. The crowd was respectful and appreciative of the bands they were seeing, which is reassuring that A7X and Poppy are total pro/lifer acts. Both are Grammy nominees, so that's not really surprising.

No one likes the new songs, and they push you to listen

by Naves on 4/1/24PNC Arena - Raleigh

They played some good old songs at the beginning and then pushed the new stuff that nobody likes. The concert was pleasant for the first hour and then it declined into the new songs, nobody sings, people just watch. They didn't play a litthe piece of heaven and neither so far away, even with the public screaming asking for
