Austin Spurs at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park
The Austin Spurs are one of the most successful and longest-running NBA G League franchises. The Texas-based team has won five division titles and four conference titles, and they took home the G League championship in 2012 and 2018. The Spurs also played in the 2019 FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where they finished fourth. Since 2017, the Spurs have been coached by Blake Ahearn, a veteran of both the NBA and the G League. The team plays its home games at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, a venue located north of downtown Austin that has a capacity of 8,000. The arena opened in 2009 and books a wide variety of music, sports, and family-oriented events.
Austin Spurs History
The Austin Spurs franchise dates back to 2001 when the NBA G League was operating as the National Basketball Development League. When the team formed, it was originally based in Columbus, Ohio, and known as the Riverdragons. In 2005, the franchise moved to Austin and became known as the Toros. That name stuck even after the San Antonio Spurs bought the team in 2007, although the Toros changed their name to the Spurs starting in 2014. The team currently plays in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference.
Prior to playing home games at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, the Spurs called the Austin Convention Center home. Historically, the franchise has been home to dozens of athletes who make a positive impact in the NBA, including current players such as Memphis Grizzlies small forward Kyle Anderson, Washington Wizards center Ian Mahinmi, Los Angeles Clippers power forward JaMychal Green and San Antonio Spurs point guard Dejounte Murray. The franchise has also produced players who've gone on to success in professional leagues all over the world — a testament to the world-class training and skills-building the Spurs have always encouraged.
The family and I had a wonderful time!! Great seats for even better prices. Guys played so good as well!
Everything was great, starting from the beginning. Easy to get into parking & the AT&T center with all info on cell phone. Great seats, game, food & drinks. Fun crowd. Helpful staff.
Very entertaining and kept me on the edge of my seat.
It was a great experience. We sat 6 rows off the court. We could see the team up close and hear them talk to each other as they played. We also got to see some of the Spurs team that came to the game. Fun time.
It's the first time i do this and it was an AWESOME EXPERIENCE. Everything went well. I will definitely do it again. Thanks
The only seats I can afford for Spurs games is upper deck, although I do try to get in first 7 rows, although if the price is right will go to row 12. So these seats in Section 2 on the floor were special for me and my grandson. Much different perspective on the game.
I attended game one at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park and had a great experience. The staff was great and I even found cider at the upstairs bar. It was easy to get into the venue and as well out after the game. The team stepped it up at home for the fans. Great times.
Great basketball game in a wonderful atmosphere! Arena staff was noticeable as they greeted you with a smile. Good to see their availability for assistance, if needed. The arena was clean and the ambiance was really super. Fans were cordial and showed fan support for the Austin Spurs. Note: Not all food venues were available and one of the venues was not able to provide service based on the listed menu. Aside from the food venues, really a great game (in a clean facility) with a good spirited atmosphere from the attendees.
Fun and affordable time. Beware parking is cash only.
We had the best time at the game on a spontaneous date night because tickets were so affordable. (We're late 20s for reference) The venue is a perfect, intimate size. No bad seats you still feel like you're in a larger arena. The game was awesome -- just like the NBA or NCAA, there are tons of half time and timeout performances. There's a DJ playing music clips during the game too as the possessions would change, which kept things so upbeat and lively. Parking is a breeze. No traffic in or out and no crazy long walks. We're literally considering season tickets, we loved it so much.
I enjoyed every minute of it. Austin Spurs games are very fun for families.
Excellent seats...was able to enter thru VIP entry on SW corner of arena...short walk to our seats in Sec 10/Row 9...not the SA Spurs but enjoyable and a great value. I'd do it again for sure
We had an AWESOME time! The Team played great and who could not get excited when the game ran into overtime and the Austin Spurs WON!!!! Hope they come more often. Also the seats were fantastic!!!!!!!!
My family and I had a fantastic time at the last Austin Spurs game. My wife is even interested in going to see them play up in Austin.
Love taking my son bc it is cost friendly for this single mom to take my son out and have fun!
We all enjoyed the game . We are planning on going again.
Went to watch the Austin Spurs! Not a bad seat in cedar park center! Had a great time.
Very comfortable seats, good price for seats, decent price and variety of concessions. Very good experience.
HAD A GOOD TIME. THE EVENT DID NOT COST US AN ARM AND A LEG AND YET WE HAD FUN.
I always enjoy watching the Austin Spurs, as the experience is much more affordable than the San Antonio Spurs (and I don't live in SA). Makes for a fun night.
