About

Despite their calm, clean cut exterior, the five Pennsylvania young men who make up August Burns Red produce high-energy metalcore music that calls to hard-rock ticket buyers. Formed in 2003 while in their senior year of high school, the quintet has since signed to Christian label Solid State and released six studio albums, including the most recent “Rescue & Restore.” That collection, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200, followed their 2012 holiday release entitled “August Burns Red Presents: Sleddin’ Hill, A Holiday Album.”   Though the band’s tour plans have included multiple runs as part of the Vans Warped Tour, as well as headlining concerts in the US and Europe, August Burns Red has dealt with lineup changes throughout their decade-long life. Only three original members are still onboard to-date: guitarist JB Brubaker, guitarist Brent Rambler and drummer/pianist Matt Greiner. Frontman Jake Luhrs signed on in 2005, and bassist Dustin Davidson joined a year later.

best show I've been to at starland

by curleynj on 1/22/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

eEvery band was at their best, starland was more then accommodating to a friend of mine who had knee surgery just that morning, and then to top it off at the end of the show ABR stayed and signed autographs and took pictures with anyone who wanted them.

August Burns Red was even better than I imagined!!

by CccccccccccKkkkkkkkk on 1/21/12Masquerade - Atlanta

I went to see Let Live, Texas in July, Silverstein, and August Burns Red at the Masquerade in Atlanta, GA. This was honestly the best concert I've been to yet! The Masquerade was very unique inside. I loved how close we were to the stage! This was the first time I had been to a August Burns Red concert. I had only listened to their Albums, and I can say that they are even better in person! The intensity of the music is only made better by the band member's passion for what they are playing. And it's all bumped up a notch when you know that they are performing for the glory of God! :) I will most definitely be attending their concert the next time they come through town! God Bless August Burns Red! :)

ABR is never a let down.

    by Tudles1 on 1/21/12Masquerade - Atlanta

August Burns Red is insanely good, and nobody should ever pass up an opportunity to see them live. Just stay out of the pit if you're frail, because it gets pretty awesome.

One of my best shows to date!!!!!!

by DODouble on 1/20/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Great opening bands, however "I The Breather" bailed out!!!! But the rest was insane....We met with members of August Burns Red after the show - they came out to mingle with the fans to sign and chat - very cool. This was their opening show of their tour in NJ, and I already bought tickets for their closing act in Philadelphia. See you there!!!

    ABR rocked

by TheBigDirty on 1/17/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

August Burns Red was great. High energy, sounded tight. Why was silversteen there? "no parents, no rules" is what he said to start the set off. definately not a good vibe. yeah there were kids there, the same kids who are paying you to be on that stage and buy your records. what kind of jerk mock's their own fans? They got blown off the stage by the band before them anyway. Silversteen didn't even look like they were into their own songs. barely anyone moving during their set. Starland used to be a lot better. now, if you're drinking... you're corralled into the corners. not all the bars there serve alcohol anymore. the sound guy at starland sucks too. soundcheck lasted over ten minutes for every band but abr. i'm sorry, but as a professional, you should be able to do your job much better and faster. I grew up going to starland, i feel so old saying this, but its not like it used to be. Thanks for a good farewell set abr, i'm never going to starland ever again

    Another spectacular night

by WHOandrew on 1/16/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Once again the boys in August Burns Red came back around and proving they still have what it takes. Very energetic, intense, fast, devestating. They played alot of songs off of the newest cd but considering it was the Leveler tour that makes sense. Im much more of a fan for the older albums but reguardless it was a unforgettable night.

    Best Concert Ever

by Anonymous on 1/15/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

This was hands down the best concert I have ever been to. The openers in my opinion were pretty weak but that made ABR all the better. They promised a long set and they delivered with an Awesome 16 song set. Jake and Matt even stuck around for pictures and autographs after the show. If you havent see ABR live i highly suggest you go NOW!

    August Burns Red never fails

by AndyandDan on 1/15/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

I have been a fan of August Burns Red for over 7 years now and was never able to get out to one of their shows. This was my first show and believe me it blew away all expectations. Texas In July and August Burns Red are musical geniuses and two of my favorite bands. Definitely worth seeing.

    very good concert

by ABRissolid on 1/15/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

This is the second concert I have seen at starland I. The past month (saw AILD in December). I absolutely love seein metal shows there. The bands and sounds have been fantastic. The parking lot is worked very well by the staff and it was fairly easy to get out afterwards. Inside they do a nice job manning the bar and other food areas so no complaints there. The staff also does a fantastic job of handling the crowd surfing, which I love doing! They also watch the mosh pits carefully and allow everyone to have a good time. They're fairly lenient which I like. I have seen them kick people out when they get violent, which is nice too see. Only negative thing was that man people were pushing a lot for unnecessary reasons. I've been going to metal concerts for a few years and I expect a rough time, but it was overly pushy which got very annoying. It wasn't nearly as bad when I saw AILD.

    Show was Crazy!

    by metal5 on 1/15/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Overall, ABR and Texas in July were my two favorite bands there. all of the bands played awesome and i had a great time. if there was one thing i had to say was a little bit annoying was that it was extremely overcrowded, as were the pits. Way too many oversized assholes who don't know any pit etiquette. but the music itself was awesome for anyone into metal i'd definitely say go to this tour! you wont regret it!

One if the best shows I've EVER been to.

    by Billy39 on 1/15/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Went for Texas In July and ABR. Texas In July did not disappoint. Great performance, sound quality, and setlist. August Burns Red was unreal. They put on arguably the best show ive ever seen. Everything was flawless about their hour and 15 minute performance, and For these reasons, the show was worth every penny. Letlive and Silverstein also put on good performances, Letlive was extremely interactive and made their performance a lot of fun and Silverstein had a decent mix of old favorites and new songs.

    Too Crowded!

    by CTC1993 on 1/15/12Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

If you were at Starland Ballroom on January 13th, 2012 for the August Burns Red show, you probably couldn't breath....and couldn't move. In my opinion, that show was about twice as crowded as it should've been. I'm not exactly sure who decides how many tickets can be sold for each venue, but they should be fired. August Burns Red and Silverstein (the two bands I went to see) put on great shows. However, I had a terrible time purely because there was just too many people in that venue. Not to mention, it's more likely than not a serious safety hazard. But i guess money is more important than anything in this declining music industry.
